Summary: Rodd Mcfarlane's spawn
Review: The origional, uncut Spawn, was most likely, the BEST animated film of all time. My name is Kenneth McFarlane, and I've looked up Todd's history, and realized what he went through. I have a game in creation. this started WAY before I knew about spawn, and when i found out that he was creating spawn in high school, i was astonished. I'm 16 years old, and I've come a long way with my story. If my findings are correct, Todd is a distant relative of mine, and if so...Final Darkness should come out, all too well.

Summary: sweet as hell
Review: The spawn series on HBO, is in my opinion the greatist series ever. A few years ago when i was in the hospital all i did was read spawn and watch this movie. I give this movie 5 stars because of its incredible story line and the creativity that Todd McFarlin brings to the screen. Ne one thinking of getting this movie should because its definitly worth it.

Summary: SO GOOD, I'M BUYING IT AT AMAZON WHEN I COULD RENT & COPY IT
Review: The SPAWN story is truly amazing, a metaphor for everyone's life. (Everyone cursed by god to be a "grown-up"). I agree with the first reviewer who said "I can't understand why this isn't more popular"... but don't bother with the live-action movie version. BUY IT. IF YOU WON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, THEN RENT IT. Either way, you WILL show your friends.

Summary: Great Series
Review: This is a great series and is well worth buying but it's disappointing because they never made a 4th season.

Summary: Good start to an excellent series
Review: This is the first compilation of the Spawn animated series. Its a bit slow in its plot. But very aggressive in its grasp of reality. A fan of hardcore anime or spawn would like this very much. The first tape mostly tells the story of how Spawn came to be and what his mission is, as he sees it. In comparison to the 2nd and 3rd tapes it is a bit slow, but still entertaining a good start to an excellent series.

Summary: Special effects don't a movie make!!!!
Review: This reviewer was a big fan of Spawn in the early years but since McFarlane has botched the progression of the character due to his love/hate relationship with Rob Leifeld that character has taken a dramatic downturn. The movie emphasizes the fact that there is no longer any purpose to the character. The Spawn is dead and should remain dead. There are dramatic special effects with the character's cape that make it look like he's standing in a wind tunnel. The spawn suit is so thick that spawn can't even lift his arms without looking like Boris Karlov's mummy character. The story line is the weakest part of the whole movie as it tries to cram in more information than the new viewer to spawn can understand. Also there are so many changes from the comic book that the avid reader of spawn is lost as well. My hats off to McFarlane who said he would make the spawn movie just to show Marvel that he could make it without them but he literally shot himself in the foot as only hard-core fans will probably view the next installment. I recorded over my vhs copy to tape the Mark McGuire 62nd home run celebration. Now there's something worth watching more than once! END

Summary: Unbelievable series, but....
Review: This series is so great, so entertaining, but still very unfulfilling and disappointing simply because the series was cut short and they never made a 4th installation. Buy the series, it's well worth it, but after Spawn 3 you will be disappointed that Spawn 4 never came out.

Summary: The best Spawn movie ever!
Review: Todd McFarlane's Spawn is a great adaption from the comic book series. It captures the dark images, and mystical power. The inferno of Hell shrouds Al Simmons giving him these powers! Unlike the live movie, Al Simmons is already a Hellspawn. But he is tormented by thoughts of his death, five years ago. I like the parts when Spawn kills people, that is cool. I would not recommend this movie to people under 18, because there is much...blood and gore, bad language, and adult content. I have got every censored and uncensored version of Spawn. This one deserves an NC-17 rating, at least that's what I think. Spawn is a very cool movie, throughout the movie it mostly takes place at night, and you can't see Spawn very well sometimes, except for his eyes and cape. Otherwise the rest of him is just mostly a cilouet. The edited version is about half as good as this one, only many people do prefer the uncensored versions of just about every movie. The live movie is very good too. In the animated series, it never actually shows Malebulgia, or you could call him Satan. And it even shows Angela, one of the Hellspawn Bounty Hunters. And in Spawn 3, it shows three other Bounty Hunters. Including Jade, she's pretty cool. Also in Spawn 3, Spawn battles a vampire prostitute. The fat little clown turns into the violator in this movie, and he beats Spawn up pretty bad. And Spawn actually uses his chains to [exterminate] in the animated Spawn series. He even uses his cape sometimes to choke people. It's very cool, and Spawn has a low, scratchy voice, much different from Michael Jai White in the live movie. Keith David is Spawn's voice in this one. I have no clue how many tapes there are going to be in the animated series, but Spawn 1-3 the only ones right now. This is a great movie, buy it, you'll like it.

Summary: Grown up superhero
Review: Why doesn't this type of work is appreciated more in the US is beyond my understanding. Spawn's story is original as hell, they way is crafted here break boundaries in Western animation. A must see video.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Totally uncaged.
Review: Wow.

Spawn is the fruit of a twisted imaginative mind from Todd McFarlane. (spent all his millions from this movie on an antique baseball memoribilia! Warped)

The movie is a cartoon of a Dark super heroe (not that A1 nice and decent) who is faced with a challenge of death and life.

this is a sad review...I cant begin to describe it.

NOT FOR KIDS UNDER 15. Seriously. Its agraphic cartoon. But well done...
