Summary: Faerie Tale Theatre on DVD!
Review: After years of waiting, Faerie Tale Theatre fans can finally own the series on DVD. Shelley Duvall's series originally appeared on Showtime 20 years ago and featured well-known and rising stars of the time. The series' campy enthusiasm for fairy tales has made it a cult classic. Better yet, the DVD prices are affordable, especially after the high prices the used VHS copies have been earning in recent years.

About this episode:

A princess makes a bargain with a talking frog and fails to hold up her end of the deal. Watch a young Robin Williams play the Frog Prince as you've never seen the character before or since.

Cast:
Rene Auberjonois ... King Ulrich
Robin Williams ... The Frog Prince
Teri Garr ... The Princess
Eric Idle ... Narrator

Summary: my personal fairy tale theatre movie
Review: If your looking for a fairy tale for kids that can make even you laugh this is the one. Robin Williams will lighten the mood every time.

Summary: a true classic of the series
Review: THE TALE OF THE FROG PRINCE is among the best episodes of the entire FAERIE TALE THEATRE series. With a sharply comedic script by Eric Idle and capable leads in Robin Williams and Teri Garr, it is a wild and wacky adaptation of the classic fairytale.

A spoilt bratty Princess (Teri Garr) loses her beloved golden ball down a very deep well. Her only option of retrieving it is to accept the friendship of a 'repulsive' frog (Robin Williams). In exchange for a meal at the palace and a nights' sleep on her silken pillow, the frog retrieves the precious ball, but will the Princess uphold her part of the bargain?...

Williams and Garr are excellent in the leads with fine support from Rene Auberjonois, Michael Richards, Candy Clark, Roberta Maxwell and Nancy Lenehan.

Summary: Undoubtably one of the best Faerie Tale Theatre videos.
Review: This episode of The Tale of the Frog Prince, starring the hilarious Robin Williams and wonderful Teri Garr, is not only a very well told classic children's tale, but a comedy. It has plenty of bits an adult would find entertaining, none being underhand or crude, while still amusing to a younger audience. I grew up watching this series; I loved it then, and I still love it now ... A very good movie to see, and a deal if you can buy it anywhere!

Summary: Bad for Children
Review: This film contains language and sexual content. Robin Williams uses profanity and parental discretion is advised. It is a funny telling of the story for adults but not younger viewers... Parents should watch the movie first to decide if it is appropiate for their children, and trust me, it isn't!!!!

Summary: Great except for one word
Review: This is truly a great version of this timless tale and Robin Williams is, as usual extremely funny. BUT he does use one word in discribing the princess that make this otherwise great production questionable for children. At one point he calls the princess a "b----" (rhymes with witch). I know that children hear this word all the time, but it is a jolt to hear it in a children's story and might make some young ones think it is OK to use that word.

Summary: what a wonderful series
Review: This one funny show based upon a children's book
robin williams is funny as frog & teri garr is excellent as the spoiled princess. i watch this when i was kid & was glad to see it released on dvd, but i was little disapointed in the sound not being very good , i mean it's better than i expect to be for the price paid same with picture could've been better. i'm willing to overlook those things right now & get the series.
in the future i'd like a better transfer in picture & sound & to have behind the scenes, deleted scenes maybe fox will come to their senses and release an excellent edition of this classic series.
but for now i'm glad i can get a clear decent copy of this series so on that note i'd recommend you buy the entire series

a thanks to starmaker for releasing this wonderful series
you have outdone yourselves.

oh to parents the frog prince is PG in my mind because of two cuss words.

happy buying
