Summary: A must-have for your little princess!
Review: My 3 year old daughter started ballet lessions 2 months ago. She loves it. This movie made her feel special. She saw Barbie and Kelly doing ballet. The mouse king was scary to her at first however by the middle of the movie, she was yelling "Bad Mouse King- Stop It!" Plus the special NY ballet segment on this DVD was very fascinating and educational. My daughter also enjoyed this segment. Seeing other ballerinas made her practice her own steps and she saw the result of practicing.
I love this movie and highly recommend it.

Summary: Good Intro to Ballet
Review: Although it is not a real "ballet" as a ballet teacher myself of 3 yr olds I find it a good intro to ballet for the very young. It does get them interested in classical music (also very good for brain development) and this will later get them excited to see the actual ballet live and bring much needed culture into children's lives! I recommend the video "Learn Nutcracker Ballet Dances with Me" as a good choice in addition to Barbie Nutcracker because it gets the kids up and dancing with the Sugar Plum Fairy and other characters from the Nutcracker. They learn dances from the Nutcracker so this way they really learn to enjoy classical music and the ballet.

Summary: Is it possible to rate this zero stars?...
Review: After watching this movie (actually I watched 45 minutes of it then turned it off) I was purely disgusted and shocked. This is NOT the real Nutcracker. I was also insulted and embarassed too. When the rock monster came up my two three year old daughters screamed and ran under the covers. All in all buy the REAL Nutcracker.

Summary: A model of etiquette for my four-year-old daughter
Review: When my daughter was three this DVD mesmerized her. It was the first full-length movie that captured her complete attention. Today she is four years old and she still loves it. I have used the model of Barbie to explain what is gbeautiful princess-like behavior.h I say, gsit up straight so you sit like a princess does.h This DVD is important for making it fun and interesting to teach etiquette and beauty to my impressionable young girl. My daughter also loves "Barbie as Rapunzel" but I think this one is better.

Summary: Pleasing to watch
Review: If you have a 2-5 year old little girl, they will definagely enjoy this movie. They did a great job in making it. The people look real, hardly animated. The music is great, and we all know kids love music and to dance to it. And that is what my 2 and 4 1/2 year old girls enjoy doing. I recomend this movie to anyone who is a young girl at heart. I enjoy watching this move with my daughters.

Summary: This is movie at best is "ok".
Review: It's not scarey at all. But is boring to watch but Barbie fans will still like it. I highly recommend Barbie As Rapunzel without a doubt. So much more engaging!

Summary: Better Than The Original
Review: After I saw this movie I decided to read the original by E.T.A. Hoffman and for some reason didn't like it. I like the Barbie one a lot more. Even though it doesn't have as much dancing as it should, it is still really interesting. This movie had a lot more action and was just a lot cooler than what I thought it would be like and the original story. I recommend this movie to anyone, after all I loved it and I am 16. I also recommend Barbie as Rapunzel.

Summary: Barbie in the Nutcracker
Review: My daughters, ages 5 and 6, loved this movie and have watched it several times. The scenes are lovely, and the plot is very entertaining. I'm not sure why it would scare children, as other reviewers have mentioned, but in my family it was a highly enjoyable movie that we will watch over and over again!

Summary: My Daughter Loves It
Review: Yes, my 4 year old daughter loves it. Also, my 6 year old son likes it too -- but that's just between me and you.
