Summary: I wanted to like it. . .
Review: The animation was beautiful. The critters blended in with the real backgrounds and looked like they belonged. I'm sure that Walt Disney would be proud of the new computer animation studio that was built for making this film and future releases. But I thought that the characters and story were lacking.

Summary: Great film why isn't everyone seeing it
Review: This is the best film ever. I like Dinosaur. Almost like Land Before Time. But one time it gave me this silly dream that Dinosaurs roam the highway. Should be from Walt Disney and Universal Studios. Much better than Land Before Time.

Summary: Not for young children
Review: This movie looked great for older kids, but I bought it for my toddler because he loves dinasours - BIG mistake. It is very scary. From the very beginning, little cute ones are being chased and eaten by the big ones, etc. My toddler had bad dreams for a week and he only watched 5 minutes of it. Beware.

Summary: Better graphics than Toy Story!
Review: When I first saw Toy Story I was blown away by the graphics but when dinosaur came out I changed my mind.

The dinosaurs look so realistic, They walk right and their gums and mouth move when the roar or speak.

I liked the meteor impact seen and how it destroyed the island, I also liked that they chose a Carnotaur for a villain and not a T Rex. They had a really good selection of dinosaurs and not the verey day Triceratops, Apatosaurus and Velociraptor combination.

They included Oviraptor, Pachyrinosaurus, Styracosaurus. I loved this movie!

But what really disturbed me in some reviews was that said it was to violent and was not appropriate for kids. SO WAHT! I would laugh if disney made the carnotaurs loving and kind hearted beasts, Cranosaurs eat dinosaurs big whoop, And so there is a bit of blood but when a meat eater kills a dinosaur there is blood. That's how it was in dinosaur times.

This movie is excellent!

Summary: Cute Story, Excellent CGI
Review: This is an excellent story for kids and is almost exactly like the original "Land Before Time" movie. This is certainly a better script and the animation is wonderful so it will also appeal to older kids as well. Do be ready to explain science's current theory for why dinosaurs went extinct. Good rec for the 6 to 10 set, and for anybody who appreciates CGI as an artform in itself.

Summary: Yet another moral Enron
Review: For decades, Disney Inc. propogated a sterile, anti-intellectual, gendered, racialist perspective on reality. Let us be honest: Walt Disney refused to hire Jews (cf. the history of his actions when he found out Kirk Douglas is a Jew), could not draw, and Disneyland is the summation. Those who would engage in semantic tap-dancing -- "family values" does not equal valuing families -- and insist Disney Inc. is, somehow, "entertainment", fail to see the corporate mind-set. DINOSAUR (and I speak as a paleontologist) is typical of the [ethical] bankruptcy (I almost expected Uncle Remus to appear and lead the non-Mesozoic lemurs in a sing-along). Like the [underlying] nuances of MERMAID, DINOSAUR has excellent drawings (best appreciated with the volume off), but little else. For decades, we have endured the putrescence of Disney Inc., much like Spielberg's merchandizing of everything to maximize profits. It is time for the company to dismantle itself.

Summary: A "Disney Film" but...
Review: This is a visually beautiful film to watch. The animation of the dinosaurs is impressive. The plot is pretty simple but so much is happening visually it makes up for it. It is a Disney film & as such I would have thought that they would have been a bit more careful with its dialogue. There is one scence where the bully threatens the good guy by saying "If you ever try that again, I'll kill you." Not something you want your children to go around repeating (which my 3 year old son did after having seen the film only once). Other than that it is a film worth seeing.

Summary: Amazing Animations, Good Film Overall
Review: I was first captivated by 'Dinosaur' in theaters and the DVD is just as captivating. Some of my friends said the movie was 'junk', but you do have to realize that this movie is a children's story and the plotline has to essentially be simple. 'Dinosaur' is touching and it's pure eye candy. I don't know if the DVD is worth buying, but you must at least rent this to check out all the dazzling embelishments it has offer!

Summary: Dinosaurs rule
Review: Caught Dinosaur on ABC last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Except for several details. 1) The brother Dino leader of the herd actually had the more realistic viewpoint. The weakest mem-
bers of the herds would have been outpaced, and subject to depred
ation by theropods. 2) If they were migrating after the Big As-
teroid Hit, I doubt seriously if the happy ending of many new baby dinos hatching could have happened-from what is evident in
North America, continent-wide forest fires erupted, and anything
above the size of a housecat either roasted, vaporized, or simp-
ly starved to death. There was no happy ending. The nesting
valley would not have lasted for long. 3) Didn't particularly care for the idea represented that whoever opposed the hero got
an ugly death, either-smacks of fascism. 4)While it is true that
younger males do compete for headship of a herd, theropods were
always a shadow on herds of sauropods, picking off the weak or
sick......sorry to inject a little realism.

But the animated dinosaurs were excellent-would love to have a
tiny dino for a pet......
