Summary: Underrated.
Review: The Rescuers is Disney's most underrated work! It was the last great feature film before what became a strings of forgettable works like The Black Cauldron, The Great Detective, Oliver and Company in which the Disney studio was trying to break into new ground but somehow was unable to find the right formula. It wasn't until The Little Mermaid that Disney Studio has reclaimed it's number one position as the world's greatest cartoon creator.Having said that, The Rescuers Down Under- produced after The Little Mermaid - is a thorough disappointment, both in its story and in its style of drawing. This always seems to be the curse of sequels! The Rescuers, however, has all of the Disney's magic! Medusa is possibly one of the greatest of Disney's villains, yet somehow she doesn't catch on as did the others.T he only criticism I would make is the opening of The Rescuers. It seemed that the studio had run out of money when they were doing the opening scene, for all we have is a collage of storybook sketches from an artist's impression.

Summary: Nero!!...Brutus!!....Stop that making that noise in there!!!
Review: The Rescuers is one of my all-time favorite Disney films to watch. I saw this movie when I was 6 years old and now that I'm 21, I still love this movie.
The story begins when a little girl named Penny is kidnapped by a evil woman named Madame Medusa who forces Penny to search and find a large diamond called the Devil's Eye, thats hidden in a underground cove called Devils Bayou. Penny, however, manages to send messages in bottles to get help from the outside, and the R.A.S. Rescue Aid Society, the secret organization that's composed of mice from around the world answer Penny's call for help and they send two mice Bernard, who's the janitor, and a agent from Hungray named Miss Bianca. The only way to get to Devil's Bayou is the Albatross Air Service that's ran by Orville, a bumbling, wise-cracking albatross who's the pilot, flight annoucer, and the plane.
When they do get to Devil's Bayou, Bernard and Bianca witness a escape attempt made by Penny, who get snatched by Medusa's two bumbling pet alligators, Nero and Brutus.
My favorite scene is where Nero and Brutus are trying to catch Bernard and Bianca when they're trapped in a pipe organ, and while Nero is playing the organ, Brutus trys to catch them when the air comes up through the pipes.
If you want a good family classic to watch, give The Rescuers a try, I love it.

Summary: Disney's 23rd Animated Masterpiece!
Review: The Rescuers was the first of Disney's most important renaissance, it is a very important film for the company, since it is thanks to this film that the Walt Disney Company is still "running" today. The Disney company was falling during the 70's and it wasn't until The Rescuers that they restored themeselves, although everyone says The Little Mermaid was the renaissance, it would've probably never even have existed without The Rescuers which is considered by many to be Disney's crummiest work ever, but by others the only good feature in the 70's, The Rescuers is trully a masterpiece, despite it shows lack of good animation at certain points throughout the film. So, well, knowing that The Rescuers would be a great hit (It was, specially in Europe beating "Star Wars" in the box office.) someone in the post produccion team did not like the idea of the Disney company being saved, and attempted against the film, by inserting subliminal images of a naked woman into the film, luckily the images went unnoticed in the theaters and the film accomplished its purpose, and the images have been removed from the film.

Also The Rescuers was the first film that combined the talents of the experienced animators that had worked with Walt since the 1930s, with the new staff that would set the stage for the next film, The Fox and the Hound (1981), which would be handled mostly by the new animation staff. The Rescuers was the first Disney film to inspire a sequel, The Rescuers Down Under(1990) is sometimes mistakenly considered even better than The Rescuers, but it really isn't that good.

The film, The Rescuers is the story of two rescue mice named Bernard and Miss Bianca in a great mission to save Penny, a little orphan girl kidnapped by the evil Madame Medusa and her hunchman, Mr. Snoops. The deal is that Medusa needs a small person to fit through a tiny hole that leads into a cavern, where pirates had hidden the Devil's Eye, a long time ago. The Rescuers does have a great plot, which was really something missing from the previously released films. The film's characters are really memorable, comparing them to those from The Sword in the Stone. So, the film is really something you must see if you haven't already. The songs and soundtrack are really amazing, I just love them. The song played at the beginning, "The Journey" and the prologue images, really make it a majestic introduction, one of my favorite parts of the film.

This DVD edition does leave a lot to be desired, since this is a great film, it probably has much more documentaries than the ones featured in this edition. There's a small art gallery, a pretty dull game, some Disney cartoons and shorts. The bonuses don't really relate to the film but, the thing that bothered me the most was that they used the same cover art from the Masterpiece Collection VHS release, which tells a lot of how much work was put into this film, pathetic. The film deserves so much more, let's hope this title is added to the new Masterpiece Edition line, which is the place it belongs.

Summary: Penny(Garry Hixon)
Review: This a sad movie and will make you cry, which is wonderful. Very good and sad songs which are a good kind of sad. A very realistic portrayal of probably the state of every orphange in the world right now. Children will love this movie and give them an escape from the pressures of the normal happy go lucky life. Everyone roots for the kid in this movie all the way to the end, Meddusa and her sidekicks get whats coming to them at the end too, and the Devils eye diamond, bigger than the hope diamond, is put in the Smithsonian institue where it rightfully belongs. I first saw this movie when I was 8, with my bother(7) and my sister(11). We loved it and have changed so much since then. The 70's were really a magical time for kids then, as Walt Disney was really tearing up the scene, this movie also reminds me of Escape from Witch Mountain and the sequel with Kim Richards! Kim is trying to make a comeback which is good and she has kids too, Penny reminds me of Cinderella as a kid, and I really recomend this film to the poor children of the world, and children in foster homes and orphanages, and anyone who has a cat named Rufus!-God bless the kids in this world!-Love PENNY(Garry Hixon)

Summary: Clean Fun
Review: This Disney feature is good and wholesome fun. This title was produced in the '70s and some scenes allude to that era. I recommend for all families that want good clean fun in a film.

Summary: I can't stop watching it!
Review: This has always been my favorite Disney movie of all times. It is filled with wonderful loving characters, beginning with the rescuers themselves, Bernard and Bianca. Bernard is the funny, superstitious janitor mouse who will join Miss Bianca in this thrilling adventure, while Bianca is the adventurous lady mouse that will not fear of two enourmous crocodiles when time comes to save Penny. The little child has been kidnapped by the evil Madame Medussa, who needs Penny to get her the world's largest diamond, the Devil's Eye. Together with other explendid characters like Ellie Mae, Orville the Albatross, Mr. Snoops and Evinrude, the dragonfly, "The Rescuers" is an exciting adventure that will bring you deep inside Devil's Bayou.

The DVD brings you many wonderful bonus features, games and Spanish and French Language tracks.

One thing this great movie deserves is a Restoration treatment. Like many other films, this enchanting gem has been underrated for many years, especially after January 8th, 1999, when it was recalled for containing inapropiate pictures in its backround. Fortunately, this pictures have been removed from the film, and there's no reason for this film to be treated the way it is.

Note: This DVD does not bring a chapter index. The Disney company was trying to save money by avoiding them but, the public was against that. Disney used Bernard and Bianca as laboratory mice, testing what would happen if no insert was included. Disney doesn't seem to care anything that goes wrong with "The Rescuers" anymore...

Review: This is by far and away one of my favorite Disney movies.

Some of the scenes are a little harsh for a younger audience, but in all it is a very cute, very well written and animated piece.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: This is one of Disney's greatest movies it is a shame that it isn't as popular now adays as it once was when it first came out, it really is a Disney Classic and deserves more than boring films like Aladdin or 101 Dalmatians. it is the story of Bernard and Miss Bianca, two little mice in a mission to rescue Penny, a little girl from the evil Madame Medusa, who wants to use Penny to retrieve the world's largest diamond.
The plot is simple, easy to understand and the animation is old times Disney at it's best, way better than the newer Disney films like "The Emperor's New Groove" or Hercules, I mean what kind of garbage is this? Anyways, back to The Rescuers, Disney has released this title in a way in which they show no care for it, as if they just felt they needed to release it. The DVd has very little extras, most of them have nothing to do with the film. I really do hope that Disney gives light to this memorable classic once again so a whole new generation of children can enjoy it as much as I did when I was little, and as much as I treasure it now.

There are rumors saying that Disney is planning on making "The Rescuers III: Journey to the Black Castle" in which our two little heroes will rescue an Norweian poet from a dark and sinister castle where the poor man has been inprisoned for years. This was Margery Sharp's original novel and a book I have read and enjoyed just as much as the Disney film.

Review: This is one of the best Disney movie of all the times. I remeber watching it at school and really enjoyed it. I also rented it a couple of times, and I was still enjoying it. My little sister just rented it the other day, and it was still being awesome.
