Summary: One of my all time favorite movies
Review: I am a grown woman but have a soft spot for this movie. I could watch it everyday till the day I die and never get sick of it. The soundtrack I even like. Micheal Keaton is amazing in everything. I must warn you though, bring the tissues. I cry like a baby during this movie. It's sad. A struggling musician who dies when his son Charlie is 11 on christmas. Then a year later things are hard for Charlie and Gab (the wife). Jack (the dad) comes back as a snowman and freaks Charlie out. It gives a good message. You can always talk to someone when they're in your heart. Never let go of that. One of my personal favorites.

Summary: Just awful
Review: I am always looking for new Christmas movies and found this one a few years back. I knew right from the beginning that this one was no good. The father is a struggling musician trying to make it big and neglects his family because of it. Basically he is a loser. He dies in an accident or something and comes back as a snowman but then is suddenly trying to be father of the year, but as a snowman. They try to tug at your heart strings but completely fall flat. I don't even know how I was able to watch it all the way to the end.

Summary: A Different Kind of Warm Fuzzy Movie
Review: I became introduced to this movie when my son brought home a book from school that contained an elementary school-level synopsis of the story. He had me read it to him at bedtime. When I was reading the ending to him, I looked over and saw tears in his eyes. That created the same effect in me and I immediately decided that we WOULD see the movie. It must have been a slow night at the theatre complex because my son and I were the only two watching the movie that night. It certainly added to the special feelings we both had for the movie. Obviously, the VHS was under the Christmas tree next year.

With all that, why did I only rate it 4 stars? Well, as a movie, it doesn't quite earn its' place among the classics. The acting's OK, the storyline is good, the photography, sets and scenery are fine, but it doesn't near the level of a "Wizard of Oz" or "Toy Story". On the other hand, if you're a father with a young son and you're both looking for a good movie to rent on a cold winter's night, I've got a recommendation...

Summary: GREAT!
Review: I loved this movie, and, it touched my heart also. I think the scenery was beautiful and it just makes you want to get cozy and sit in a big comfy chair in the middle of a snowstorm and watch it! I also thought Michael Keaton looked pretty good! That was a plus!
