Summary: Who Could Ask For Anything More?
Review: I don't know what the higher end DVD players are like, but this thing is fantastic. I debuted the wide screen version of Titantic on it, (which I couldn't find for some reason at Amazon) and I must say the purchase price was worth it for this movie alone.

It's got two DVD trays, so you can be loading one up while you play the other. And if you tire of the wide screen (if your disc has it) then you can zoom it out to regular size, although the picture does get a little fuzzier. Unzoomed, the picture is absolutetly faultless and with the enhanced black level option on you get a really fantastic picture. Add to that all the other neat little stuff you get with the DVD like digital slow, chapters and freeze frame and you can't go wrong. Buy one today.

Summary: Excellent Video & Sound!
Review: I got this DVD player and I'm very pleased with it! The quality of the sound and video is great as Toshiba players usally are. Also with the added Dolby Digital Decoder onboard makes it even better for people who have a capable receiver/stereo w/out decoder. Also features both Digital audio coax & optical outputs for someone who has one or the other. Like the review above said the jog style is a little funny to work but it's not to bad. I really like this player and it's perfect and has all you need if your looking for a decent quality player that sounds and makes video look great.

Summary: Great Value, but no CD-R support!
Review: I have found this player to be of great value for the price I paid. Nice features include the option for optical, digital, or 5.1 output, easy to use interface, and a dual-DVD/CD changer. The sound is crystal clear, making the perfect complement to my Sony STR-DE835 receiver. All the extra features are great except for the fact that the remote is impossible to read in the dark, and the SD-2200 will _NOT_ play CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-RAM, or other such recordable media. However, it will play all your normal CDs, and even decodes the seldom used, but nice to hear, HDCD, or High-Definition Compatible Digital format, which effectively doubles the sampling rate of CDs (from 44kHz to 88kHz), for an incredibly clear CD listening experience. All in all, this player is a great choice for sub-$400 DVD players.

Summary: IT DOES PLAY BURNED CDS
Review: i have had this player for a while now and i've loved it since day one. when i first got it, i was disappointed to find out that it did not play burned cds...but i later found out that it does play burned Cds as long as they are CD-RW. i was reading at a CDR faq and this is what they said.."CD-RW discs have a different formulation, and may work even on players that can't handle CD-R media. If CD-R media doesn't work, try copying the disc to CD-RW instead" i tried it and it works. i can even erase the CD-RW disc and burn the same disc again with different music..because of this, i enjoy my player even more

Summary: Love it
Review: I love this player. Great picture (the enhanced black feature is a God-send) and top notch sound. AC-3 decoding, SVHS, etc., makes setting up a home theater system much easier. I also like the Dual Disc System. The feature makes watching some of my favorite Hong Kong VCDs much more enjoyable. I'd prefer a carousel, or some other multi-disc function, but dual discs is fine-and-dandy for me. My gripes with this player are the remote (the buttons are too small, oddly placed and don't glow/aren't backlit), the fast forward/rewind functions (horrendous!), and that this player doesn't "bookmark" where you left off in a movie. Other than that, this is a flawless player. You can't go wrong with the SD-2200, expecially since it comes from such a high-quality and reliable brand.

Summary: Great Player
Review: I recently bought this DVD player (although not from here, I got it at buy.com for 100 dollars cheaper) and I am very happy with the player. Picture and sound quality is wonderful. The only downside I have seen is that the remote is not backlit and there is no disk eject button on the remote. Other than this it is great. Worth the money. It is easily one of (if not the) best DVD players in this price range.

Summary: Great Product...When it works....
Review: I've had my Toshiba DVD for nearly 1 year now, and for the last 4 months or so, there have been numerous problems, like frozen pictures, "lost" discs, high pixelation, etc. I finally got fed up and brought it to an authorized Toshiba service center. Firstly, it's only fully warranted for 90 days. After that, it's parts only for 1 year. This repair will cost me $125.00. Nice. Thanks. Also, the AUTHORIZED service center has had my DVD for 5 weeks and counting..."Maybe some time next week," they say. I'm sticking with Sony from now on!
