Summary: SO disappointed
Review: As the mother of 2 young girls, I am a HUGE fan of the Angelina Ballerina videos (I own 5)...they are polite, refined and teach exemplary behavior lessons. However, I was SO upset to see that one of the characters on this video cursed...one of the characters actually said "damn"....I rewound it 4 times to be sure I heard correctly. Perhaps not a big deal to you...and yes, these are manufactured in England where the word has less import...but there is SO little in the world that is still wholesome enough for young girls to enjoy...did they really have to ruin it for me? So, while I am a huge believer in Angelina generally, I take a pass on this one.

Review: I got this for my daughter because I had a coupon for it, and Angelina Ballerina is one of the few kids shows I actually like to watch.

There are 3 episodes of Angelina Ballerina, and a surprising number of bonus features.

Two of the three episodes show Angelina not on her best behavior. Sometimes she can be a little prima donna (some might say 'spoiled rotten brat') and this might be a off-putting for people who are used to mild mannered cartoon characters. But she usually gets over it. Also, Sammy, the bully, is pure evil. My guess is he'll grow up to be Mouseland's first serial killer. I think he says a mild swear word in the one episode he's in. Some people might be offended by this. The Halloween episode is really adorable, though The 'stinky cheese' myth is kind of funny. Overall, the cartoon is cute, and I like the characters' voices. It has a really quaint homey feel. The Little Stars segments are really excellent. You learn a lot about the world of ballet. The real life dancers are very good, even the little kids.

The bonus features are good, especially if you're into ballet. There's little games and they show you all the ballet moves. Overall, I would recommend this DVD for kids, especially if they like ballet or Angelina Ballerina. Adults won't mind watching it either.
