Summary: Pixar is entralling to kids of all ages!
Review: My 5 year old son is autistic and watches this DVD over and over. Usually this drives me insane, but "Monsters Inc." is such a visual treat! Each time I watch it (and I've watched it a lot) I see something I missed before. Billy Crystal is a hoot, the images are unforgettable!

Summary: I loved this movie!!!
Review: It is cute, funny, has a lot on adult in-jokes and I really love the "out-takes" at the end and the company play. I have watched it several times with my husband and I never get tired of it.

Summary: funny
Review: This is such a cute & funny movie. I wish that I had seen it when it came out in theatres. I thought that it was going to be lame so that's why I didn't go. I was so surprised how funny this movie is. The dvd is packed with features, I really like that. Be sure to buy this for your dvd collection.

Summary: See How The Other Half Lives!
Review: MONSTERS INC is yet another masterpiece from PIXAR / Disney. Flawless in both story and execution, MI is a treat for old and young alike. I watched it with my son and we both loved every minute! Billy Crystal & John Goodman are great as Mike and Sully (basically, the Laurel and Hardy of Monstropolis). They are as good as Woody and Buzz were in TOY STORY! Here we have an alternate monster universe, filled with interesting and hilarious creatures. Mike and Sully work together (and live together) at the Monsters Inc plant, where children's screams are turned into energy for the city. Monsters known as "scarers" go through doors into the closets of unsuspecting tots, making them scream in terror. This fills a tank back at the plant. Sully accidentally brings a little girl back with him, throwing everything into chaos. Will this tiny toddler of doom destroy all of Monstropolis? Can she be stopped? What is the horrible secret behind the scenes at Monsters Inc? Watch and find out...

Summary: One of the cutest movies I've ever seen
Review: My nieces and nephew are crazy about this movie and, after putting it on one night a few months back to get one of them to sleep, I became hooked. (I've since bought a copy for myself.)

This movie is definitely for both children and adults. I'm FAR from being a prude but it's refreshing to be able to watch a movie without having to worry about every other word being a curse word, some guy's a** filling the screen, or some woman's breasts falling out of her too tight top. Once in a while, you just want to be able to sit down and enjoy a show without having to explain the sexual overtones.

It takes talent to be able to use your voice in the way that Billy Crystal, John Goodman, and the other actors and actresses in this movie did. To me, doing voice work takes more out of you than being seen on the screen.

On the DVD version, be sure to check out the short film, "Mike's New Car." Hilarious.

Pixar did a fantastic job with the animation. I'm sure it took forever to put this movie together and three cheers from someone who is appreciative of their hard work.

I don't understand how anyone can attack this movie, or any kids movie for that matter. The line about the content not being real enough got tiresome a real long time ago.

Kids need to daydream once in a while. They don't need to deal with "reality" 24/7. That's an adult's job.

Summary: Not just for kids
Review: I was dying laughing at the movies. It was hilarious and with a nice happy ending. My husband and I enjoyed it very much and bought it on DVD.

Summary: Had to respond to so tired's review.....
Review: My family and I love this movie. I suppose some of the other reviewers might say that this shows a lack of intelligence on our part as they apparently felt the movie mindless and trite. Obviously, I disagree. I was happy to find a movie that tries to tell young children that there is nothing to fear from "monster's" or what's in their closet/under their bed. Aren't those common fears for young children ? What an inventive way to say it ! My daughter was not scared by any portion of the movie and immediately identified with boo.

Summary: Very Cute
Review: So...everything I thought about monsters when I was a kid is wrong, huh? I was scared of them, but it turns out there was nothing for me to be afraid of, because they're really afraid of us! Better yet, they need us, while we don't need them at all! And what do they need us for? To power their society from the screams coerced from children. I'll never be afraid of an open closet again. There is a cute film, with John Goodman as the voice of a gigantic, goofy blue monster, name of Sully, and Billy Crystal as the voice of a walking green eyeball. Throw in a two-year-old human girl, whom Sully calls "Boo" (ha ha) and you've got a charming movie that will appeal to children and adults alike.

Summary: Monster, Inc
Review: This is a cute movie. the conept is great. But the scenes where Randall is using the machine to extract screams from children... Hello>???? Ever heard of torture??? This is not acceptable viewing for kids.

Another reviewer is thrilled that he laughed in 100s more places than his kid... Hmm... Could that be that the movie is over your kids' heads??? Is that appropriate???

Disney is horrid to do this. They put in culture references that our children cannot possibly understand, appreciate, or need to be exposed to.

This is fine fare for you. Questionable for your children. Don't let them watch it without you present.
