Summary: A movie to be forever treasured and honored.
Review: "Schindler's List" is a movie so epic and far reaching in its impact that one stops watching it and says, "...so that's why film was invented." Steven Spielberg takes us back to the haunting horror of war-torn Poland and its condemned Jewry during WWII in a film so impeccably well filmed and performed there need not be any kind of "suspension of disbelief" on the part of the viewer. Liam Neeson delivers the performance of his life starring as Oskar Schindler, a true person who takes pity on the imprisoned Jews and helps over 1,100 to safety. He does this against the will of supervillian Amon Goeth, masterfully played by Ralph Fiennes in what in my opinion is the finest theatrical presentation ever captured on film. The film is primarily historical but beautifully touches at the theme of the survival and triumph of the human spirit. Truly, the only disappointment about "Schindler's List" is that not enough films such as this grace our lives. END

Summary: Fantastic moving movie.. bottom line DVD
Review: After my third Schindlers List DVD I had to get from Amazon.. I finally received one that didn't look like a cat had been a hold of it.

I notice that others on here have had the same scratching problems.

To top that off.. It's a nearly 6 year throwback to a 2 sided single DVD.

Poor extras.. Shoddy packaging (My 2nd DVD didn't even have the booklet in it).. Make for a poor impression.

Everyone knows the movie is great.. I'm not discussing the movie. I just can't believe in this day and age that a HIGH level release of a prominent movie like this would get such horrible treatment on DVD.

Review: I'de Rather Die than watch that boring movie again, A shame for a Steven Speilberg Movie.

Summary: Poor DVD Authoring
Review: So, it's a DVD-18 (double-sided, dual-layered). That's OK, although I would have preferred if they had done a 2-disc single-sided dual-layered set instead. Double-sided DVD's have a tendency to get scratched more easily, and I sometimes have trouble reading the tiny print telling you which side is which (printed around the hub).

Here's my problem with the DVD, though.... When you switch sides, there is no option available to choose a soundtrack. It simply defaults to Dolby Digital 5.1 English. To select the soundtrack, you must go to the main menu on side 2 and select your language. So much for Spanish and French! If you select DTS 5.1 English, then the DTS trailer plays again before taking you back to the movie, which is a bit disruptive. That is just sloppy authoring. At least on the 4-disc editions of the Lord Of The Rings films, there is a link to Audio Setup before taking you back to the movie.

Also, I would have preferred some supplemental info that pertained to the making of the movie in addition to what is offered here.

Summary: Hollywood's best movie!!!
Review: Steven Spielberg has brought us the most touching movie we have ever seen. Its breath taking, beutiful and its the best movie I have ever seen. Its a movie to remember us what a human being is all about. No movie has ever impact me before, but this movie not only impact me, but it opened my eyes and changed me forever.

Summary: Outstanding Motion Picture
Review: We know this motion picture has been out for some time, it is an outstanding film about World War II and the Holocaust.

You are not going to need me to tell you how good this picture is, you should have already seen this. However, if you have not viewed this Picture, then you must see it ASAP. Buy it, rent it, borrow it, get it anyway you can. This is a must see motion picture that is a true story with great acting.

Summary: The packaging is absurd
Review: Ok, I like the move, a lot. There is no excuse for the packaging on either 2 disks or on a 2 sided disk. The movie is only 133 min. There should be more than enough room on a dual layered disk to fit this, even with 5 DTS soundtracks. I refuse to purchase this title until it all is one one uninterupted disk. There is no value-added in the current format. To my knowledge, no other movie has been forced to be released this way since the advent of dual layer technology. If each of the Lord of the Rings flicks fit on one disk wityh all the appropriate soundtracks, why can't this?
