Summary: Love it!
Review: As a softball player, I appreciate and admire the struggles that these women athletes went through in order to play the game that they loved. They opened doors for women athletes for generations. This movie funny, has supspense and emotion all in one. The cast works together so well and Penny Marshall does an excellent job directing. To think that it's premise is based on a true story is truly inspirational!

Summary: Watch it with your daughters.
Review: What a fine example for young girls. My daughters and I watch this film on a regular basis as a reminder that women can do anything they put their minds to. Gina Davis and Tom Hanks have magical chemistry (no wonder they are Oscar winners)and the supporting cast members are winners too. I also remind my children of the color barrier that once existed in America. If you haven't viewed this film there is a wonderful scene where a ball rolls away from one of the team members and a African-American woman picks it up and throws it back (very well). I ask my girls "Why can't she play?" And they know the answer. This film is well worth the investment. It will become a favorite of your daughters as well.

Summary: Perfect Cast
Review: Whoever was the casting director on this movie really deserves alot of credit. Each role here is played to perfection and I can't imagine anyone else doing a better job. Geena Davis is the perfect older sister to Lori Petty's insecure Kit and Madonna is a riot. It's interesting to me that Mr. Harvey is played by Gary Marshall, Penny Marsall's brother since she directed this fine film. Watch it tonight!

Summary: Terrific film
Review: One of my very favourite movies, the baseball is exciting and all the charcters interesting. Especially Marla, Betty, Doris, Mae and Evelyn. My favourite is Kit, i loved the portrayal of insecurity and her desparation to be noticed. Lori Petty is compelling and moving in her struggle to move out of Dottie's shadow. Love Tom Hanks too, he is very funny.

Summary: One of My Favorite Movies
Review: This is one of my favorites - it's funny, sweet, sad, and entertaining - all in one package. Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell, and all of the other stars are perfect for their roles in this movie. Anyone who doesn't care for baseball but who likes this kind of movie will love this one!

Summary: tom hanks in a league of his own for "A League of Their Own"
Review: Tom Hanks gives a stellar performance as a washed-up ex-baseball star who gets recruited to coach a women's baseball team during the war. With great cast support, Hanks takes this "women in baseball" story to an amazing level full of comedy, drama, and excitement. If you love Tom Hanks, you'll go batty for "A League of Their Own."

Summary: A touching time capsule, wonderful, balanced entertainment.
Review: I have no great fascination for women's baseball today, and I have even less for some historical rehash. Add Geena Davis, Madonna, Lori Petty and Rosie O'Donnell, none of whom I find overly compelling and you have to pay me (bigtime) to get in front of the screen.

So much for prejudging-- I enjoyed this sweet little film immensely.

Penny Marshall's work has at times been uneven, but she hits a home run here. The movie is well paced, heart-warming, and at 127 minutes does not seem long at all.

Only 3 males in sight, but they're really good ones, David Strathairn, Tom Hanks, and Garry Marshall-cast perfectly as the candy-bar magnate and team owner Walter Harvey.

Beautiful tribute to real-life women pros bookends this storybook tale of women's comaraderie and triumph-a bright spot during the tragedy of wartime.

Summary: Good movie to watch on a hot afternoon!

Summary: the best movie ever!
Review: this is a really good movie. Even if you don't like baseball the story is really good. Plus it as tom hanks in it.

Summary: Tom Hanks makes the movie!
Review: This has always been one of my favorite movies of all time!Tom Hanks is so funny,i watch the movie mainly for him.And the best part is that the movie was a real life event.Everyone in this movie portayed their characters to brilliance!I loved Jon Lovitz's character,he was so funny! And Madonna did a surprising acting job,way better than i expected!I love this movie and i know boys that like it too.So that shows how good of a movie it is to make a chick-flick and still catch boy's attention.
