  Summary: Planet Drum Goes Visual
Review: I was so excited when I heard that one of my favorite albums had gotten a visual angle added to it. Mickey Hart (former drummer for the Grateful Dead) brings us Planet Drum. The album itself is incredible, meddling Hart's sound with various tribal rhythms from around the world. The DVD delivers, but I have one major complaint. It only has two songs from the album on it. Come on now, this could have been longer.

Summary: Two audio-video tracks from Hart's Planet Drum project
Review: This DVD "single" offers a pair of audio-visual tracks (they are really not traditional music videos) from the percussion based Planet Drum musical project of the former drummer of the Grateful Dead: "Indoscrub" and "Endless River." These are certainly imaginative videos, but the showpiece is still the fascinating blending of rhythms. I always liked bands with really first-rate drummers and while I never thought of Hart in that way, these tracks certainly made me rethink my position. A short interview with Hart is included as well. "Planet Drum" is not so much for Dead Heads as it is for those who like fascinating rhythms.
