Summary: Cage does it again!!
Review: The majority of the people that I know that didn't like this film was because the lack of action. This film isn't meant to be like Con Air or Face Off. It is much deeper than either one of those two films. I really didn't know what to expect in this movie but I like what I saw because it made me think. Think about all of the things going on out there that none of us average people know about. Cage had a wonderful performance. Yes, the movie has it's flaws but I think it is a major success in the Thriller/Drama dept. One note: you may let your kids watch some "R" rated movies but don't let them watch this one!

Summary: An overall horrible performance
Review: My friends and I went to see this movie in the theater, expecting Nicholas Cage to have an incredible outting, but to our surprise, the movie was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and definitely Nick's worst role ever. Overall, about an hour into the movie, all it seemed to be was an expensive porn that they actually would show in the theater. My friends and I were very discouraged by the horrible footage seen in this movie, that we walked out. Apparently "8mm" was suppose to be a suspense, but the only suspense that we got was not knowing whether to walk out or see if it got better. I would not recommend this film to anyone, especially children under 18 years of age.

Summary: The Ultimate Creep Movie
Review: I don't understand why anyone could give this movie less than 5 stars. When I saw it on the big screen, I had the chills for days. If you like disturbing movies, this is for you. Think Se7en times 10!!

Summary: "Why?" "Because we could."
Review: More than anything else, this is a movie about the simple fact that Evil, with a cap E, does exist in the world -- and all too often is embodied in people who are, aside from the evil they do, utterly undistinguished. Cage's performance is somewhat awkward, but it gets better as things get rougher, and he has some of his best scenes of his whole career when talking to the mother of the girl he's been hired to find. Probably predictable in its broad outlines, but not in its impact, and certainly not in the things it learns about its characters. Not for everyone -- but then again, what film is?

Summary: Flawed? Yes. Bad? No Way!
Review: This movie was panned almost across the board by critics nationwide, and I do agree that it has serious flaws. However, it affected me; repulsed, fascinated, and sometimes struck me as sorrowful. Any movie with an impact like that cannot, in my mind, be considered a failure. When a film affects its viewers to feel specific emotions, to me, that means it is worth seeing. If you have a stomach for the dark side of human nature, and if you liked "Seven", yet go into this movie armed with the knowledge that it comes nowhere close to that masterpiece, you can enjoy this movie as well.
