Summary: "Whatever It Takes" Really Does Have What It Takes
Review: "Whatever It Takes" is another teen comedy coming out in 2000, but this one is the best teen comedy I have seen this year (and that's not saying much).

The story has to do with Ryan (Shane West), one of the geeks at school. He has his eyes set on the hottest girl at school Ashley (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). Chris (James Franco), one of the jocks at school has his eyes set on Maggie (Marla Sokoloff), the "cute smart girl" who is also Ryan's best friend. Chris and Ryan make a plan, if Chris can hook up Ryan and Ashley (who is Chris's cousin), then Ryan has to help him get Maggie hooked up with him. After Ryan has gotten Ashley and Chris gets Maggie, then Ryan sees Maggie as the girl he wants to be. Can this be the end for Ashley and Ryan and Chris and Maggie and a new begining for Ryan and Maggie? Rent, no wait, buy this film to find out.

The film is pretty good and should be checked out by all. The plot is kinda "used" and the acting is better than most teen films. The DVD release is an okay special edition. It contains a nice anamorphic widescreen transfer and on the flip side, a pan & scan version. The DVD contains a good audio commentary with the director, Shane West, and Marla Sokoloff. Also included are some deleted scenes.

As I said earlier, see this film as soon as possible. You won't regret it.

Summary: No oscars here, but worthwhile if you like the genre
Review: "Can't Buy Me Love" meets "Better Off Dead"?? As other reviewers mentioned, the story has been done before, but I'm a sucker for "nerd gets the girl" movies and this incarnation is reasonably entertaining and heartwarming. Marla Sokoloff lends some depth to an otherwise shallow film. "West Wing" fans should watch for Richard Schiff's brief appearances.

Summary: Crazy!
Review: A not-so-classic friends fall in love story- This had us cracking up! It's better than it looks, with some insanity-ok a lot of insanity- and an actual plot! You'll love to just guess what will happen next! Not suitable for children- but teens, go right ahead! Hilarious!

Summary: NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE!
Review: At this time, we all should know what a teen movie is.
That predictable pink and stupid piece of...art.
But, Hey!, i'm not saying all teen movies are bad, but this one it is.
High School, Ryan(Shane West) is in love with the most popular girl, called Ashley.
Her boyfriend(Chris)is in love with Shane's best friend, Maggie(Marla Sokoloff).
So they help each other to get what they want, whatever it takes.
The acting is good, specially by Shane West. They all do good the stupid high school kid rol.
This movie has some funny moments, like the Titanic parody in the schooll prom.Or the girls locker room, and some more.
But what i didn't like was MARLA.She's so bad acting and her character was so stupid, I mean, who is like her in real life.Sorry, didn't mean to offen you.
Well, let's wait for the next teen movie and let's see the differences, hope to be better than this one.

Summary: Just another director wanting to cash in...
Review: Ever since "Scream" came out, there has been a rush of teen-theme movies to hit the boxoffice. Month after month, you can see millions flock to the theaters to see them. "Whatever It takes" is yet another one to follow that trend. But when it seems writers could actually create a decent teen-movie, this one is another pointless movie that drags on and on, with the main characters taking the whole movie to realize they love each other. Like we haven't heard this story before. It tried to be the next "American Pie," which wasn't that great of a movie either... but compared to this, it's a damn film classic. People should avoid films like this at all costs, and spend their money seeing something that actually has a plot. But if you're into mindless stories with braindead characters, this films for you.

Summary: Definitely a must see
Review: Getting with people-the highschool norm. A geeky highschool guy attempts to be with the highschool's most popular girl. He seeks the help of the girl's arrogant cousin who will assist him in accomplishing is wildest dream of being with the highschool goddess in exchange for a date with his bestfriend. Things don't turn out the way he expected things to be. This is a great movie and an AWESOME DVD. The movie was really good and I especially think Shane West and Marla Sokoloff portrayed their characters well. ALthough some people might not think it, this had a message-things aren't always what they seem.

Review: Having grown up in a coming-of-age era for teen movies (and the spoofs thereof), I have to say that this movie is THE WORST teen movie I have ever seen. The acting is bad, the plot is thin, and the whole air of the movie is way overdone. Don't get me wrong; I am generally not so critical of teen movies, overdone and stereotypical as they may be. But this is by far the worst one.
