Summary: Worth the price of the disc..
Review: First off, I'm not that avid a fan of the new Batman Beyond series as Terry seems like a token Kyle Rayner(Green Lantern). Both have better powers/suits but don't quite know what to do with them yet. So, I won't comment on the story as I'd be more critical of them, but I do like how the dvd was packaged. You get the tv movie plus four more episodes, and the quality of the source is great. Much, much better than the transfer they did with the Mask Of the Phantasm dvd. I'd recommend this dvd on value alone even if you don't like the new Batman.

Summary: Great primer for the series
Review: Following in the footsteps of Warner Bros. successful Batman and Superman animated series is Batman Beyond, a near-future tale of Batman's dark knight successor.

This DVD contains the origin story and several episodes of the cartoon series. The DVD reproduction is top notch. The sounds effects are superior to the TV broadcasts because of the digital sound.

All in all a very nice package. Great for kids who love action/adventure and parents will appreciate the moral justice that the main character stands for.

Summary: Great continuing story of the "Dark Knight"
Review: Great story casting Bruce Wayne as a bitter old man, still seeking a way to hold on to his role as the Dark Knight through a youthful Terry McGinnis.

The tense partnership between these two makes for a great story. The animated series has been excellent so far with new villians rather than new versions of the old Batman rogues gallery. There are referances to the old villians as well as the old heros, which adds to the story lines. A very good series overall.

Summary: For the fans.
Review: I absolutely love the Timm/Dini cartoons; however, the new Batman Beyond series (but also the newer Batman and Superman episodes) suffer from flat characters and foreseeable and not quite original storytelling. Very, very good writers have seemingly left Warner animation, and even though Dini and Timm still deliver their best concepts and ideas, the result seems rushed and the animation is weak. No episode so far was better than average. Still, this DVD is the perfect gift for any Batman Beyond fan, since it includes some bonus episodes in perfect DVD quality, with excellent voice-acting as ever. ...!

Summary: Carrying the Mythos into the next century
Review: I am a longtime fan of Batman, and long thought the treatment of him by the team making the animated series to be the truest to the core reasons people still love the character. Fun without sacrificing maturity, propelled storylines that nonetheless flesh out the characters, the Dini/Timm Batman sets the standard that neither current DC comic continuity or Warner Brothers film makers come close to. I was very skeptical when I saw the plans for a new Batman, but had faith that this team would "keep it real"--and how! Kudos alone for creating the only feasible, and character-true reason that Wayne would ever stop being the Bat.

Summary: Takes the phrase"worth your money" to a new level-and beyond
Review: I am really a big Batman Beyond fan. I had so many expectations and hopes for Terry McGuiness. When it came out on television, I have recorded every episode since, so I have somewhat a little archive going. In this dvd, you get 4 episodes for the price of 2 on VHS.. at least I think theres two on VHS. But either way, WOW. Not only do you get good episodes, you get the outstanding quality of dvd. By looking at the technical information, you can see what episodes are on the dvd but you must buy the dvd to see the episodes (um, it seems we have a paradox...well. I hope thats what the word paradox means. Oh well) . On the dvd you get to see the actual first Batman Beyond movie and you can really get into it. The music is, well, beyond good.:-) and I was extremely happy to have gotten it. I still watch it to this date. Please say whether or not my review was helpful and possibly even check out some of my others. If you have any questions for Batman Beyond, or some of my other reviews, please feel free to e-mail me at ss9303goku@aol.com . Thank you.

Summary: not bad
Review: I enjoyed this alot, purists who like their Batman to be broody, mysterious.. and well, not a teenager with teenage problems... you may not enjoy this. The Batman Beyond Return of the Joker movie is a film which is simply brilliant, far outshining this one in animation and story.. if you are contemplating one or the other, take that movie instead!

Summary: Beyond The Spirit Of The Bat
Review: I gave the video 4 stars, only because I wish it were longer. I am 26 years old and I will always be a batman fan. The rebirth was truly a batman story of revenge and good versus evil. I like the idea of Bruce teaching his dark ways from the past to the new generation of hero. While still wet behind the ears Terry shows improvement as the plot thickens. He will continue to grow as time goes on. Proving one thing...the spirit of the bat will never die.

Summary: Batman Beyond is still growing on me
Review: I love Batman the Animated Series, and I was extremely anxious to see Batman Beyond. However, I came out a little disappointed. What really attracted me to Batman was the fact that if someone was rich enough, they could really do it. The gadgets, vehicles, etc. that Batman used weren't too far fetched. Also, I really liked that Batman was big and menacing with a deep voice, and a big jaw. He really looked the part.

This new Batman, however, is more like Nightwing, who I liked as a side character only. He is short and skinny. The technologies he has may not be far fetched in the future, but you can't tell since we don't live in that time.

That said, I love how they have incorporated Bruce Wayne as the grumpy old man. I also love how they have injected some life into the Batman franchise. I may not like the stature of the new Batman, but it was most likely necessary to fit him into the mold of what is popular these days.

As far as the DVD is concerned, Bravo! They could have just given us the Batman Beyond movie, but they took advantage of what the DVD technology has to offer, and they added 4 additional episodes. I hope to see more of Batman Beyond on DVD in the near future.

Summary: Millenium Batman
Review: I love this video! It's about time Bruce retires (well, sort of retires). Terry offers a refreshing change. I especially like the new suit. My children demand this and the other Beyonds every night. I have never been a fan of Batman, partially because it's geared to boys/men but I like the upgraded version. Batman will never die!
