Summary: GREAT MOVIE
Review: I just want to know why some people who give this film bad reviews are taking it so seriously. Are we to believe that they are trying to make an historically acurate movie here? It's just suppost to be a fun and funny movie. I find it to be very entertaining and wonder why some people seem perplexed about parts of the story that deal with the whole time travel concept. It was pretty obvious but maybe if you hitched a ride on the little yellow bus to school you might not get it. Anyway I'll I wanted to say is that this movie is worth a shot and if you don't believe me just rent it and find out for yourself. Don't listen to all the negative reviews watch it and form your own opinion!!!

Summary: Can It Get Any Worse?
Review: Martin Lawrence needs to face the fact that his best work was on his television series. Ever since he left he has made the worst movies in the world. They are stereotypical insults to black people. His characters are always ignorant and this one is no different.

This movie has been done tons of times before. Even Whoopi did a television version. This movie was pitiful. I rented the DVD and took it back without finishing it. It was stupid and the acting was limited. Martin was not funny at all ( which was disappointing since he used to be hilarious ). Martin's last four films have been huge bombs and may continue to get worse.

Just please, please stay away from this wannabe-spoof of King Arthur. It is mindless and full of Martin's childish antics. There is more substance and laughs in a National Lampoon film than this. Save your time and sanity by staying away from this crap.

And I thought Blue Steak and Big Momma's House was bad!

Summary: Black Knight puts you to sleep.
Review: After reading the many positive reviews on this page I can only conclude that Martin Lawrence made another movie called Black Knight. I wish I could see that one because this one is a real stinker. Wow!! I haven't seen a movie this bad in a long time. I can sit through anything but I fell asleep after agonizing through the first two-thirds. I kept waiting for something funny to happen, but it never did. I awoke to see the last 5 minutes and my girlfriend filled in the blanks for me. It only confirmed my suspicion that I missed nothing. I am willing to suspend logic for any movie, especially a comedy about time travel, but this movie has sooo many holes that I almost fell back through time in one of them. I think my idea is even better than Martin Lawrence falling in a moat at the Medival Amusement park he works at and going to the 14th century. What a moat in LA has to do with England is beyond me. If it's the Medival connection, then why at the end does he go back to Rome when he falls in again?? But I'm ahead of myself. Lawrence is a worker at a run down amusement park that's about to get some heavy competition. His poor boss expresses disappointment at Lawrence's character not living up to his potential. What interest his boss has in his potential is never explained. Aunt?? Friend of his parents?? We never know. So he falls in the moat and goes back in time. This is not really interesting, but I am still with the movie. So we go through the fish out of water routine, but it turns out as flat as a dead fish. No laughs here. Besides that, when they do try to add a little historic accuracy and call Lawrence a "Moor," he never seems to be annoyed by this or even asks why. It's safe to assume that most people don't know what a "Moor" is, but this movie doesn't even explain that little bit. Of course he meets a beautiful maiden and gets involved with the royal court and then has to help defeat the evil King and restore the rightful Queen. Don't worry if I am giving the movie away because I am trying to save you the torture that his character never got, but deserved. Eventually he helps defeat the King and the restored Queen knights Lawrence. Then he awakes being revived by paramedics. He realizes, well . . . something about himself. Was it a dream?? This seems to be the conclusion. At the end he uses his unrealized potential to magically restore the amusement park to full glory by dressing his boss as a Queen and doing a quick paint job on the fake castle. It still looks like a dump to me, but it's loaded with people. Oh, they never explain what happened to the new amusment park that was to be the heavy competition. Then, the final slap in the face is that he falls in the moat again and goes back to Rome. So it wasn't a dream? Cool!!! Wait!! If it wasn't a dream then how did he get back to his own time. Now I am confused and you will be too. Trust me, this movie is horrible and Lawrence has too much talent to waste it on rubbish like this. Check out some of his other stuff and avoid this slop. If you think I sound angry, you should hear my girlfriend. At least I got a 15 minute nap out of the thing.

Summary: Sure...it's not accurate, but who cares?
Review: Martin Lawrence does a nice job to entertain in this movie.

The plot is nothing fantastic...a simple tale of an urban African-American that stumbles into medieval England. He has to pretend he's French in order to help the villagers understand why he's so different, and his existance there ends up causing a huge ruckus as his identity is slowly unmasked.

If you were looking for something that would be even remotely about history, I don't recommend you seeing this. If you're just looking for an outrageous comedy that is satirical of black and white cultural differences, then you've come to the right place.

Summary: Damn, Gina!
Review: What can you say about Martin Lawrence- you love him or hate him- and I think he's off his rocker... (in a GOOD way, of course)- One the best, all-around, entertaining movies I've seen lately though, in an otherwise long list of over-hyped "BLOCKBUSTER" movies that promised the world but delivered not 1% of the entertainment value that Black Knight did. (eg. Ali, Gangs of New Yawn, ZZZigns, Panic Yawn, Yaweign of Fire (<--sorry), Yawn in Black II, Episode 2: Attack of the Yawns, etc.)

I saw Black Knight in the theatre and bought the DVD and have already watched it and the many cool extras several times- there's some great, universally hillarious physical comedy; some engaging, fluid storytelling that never drags or attempts to win an Oscar; a few harmless "double-ended" jokes for adults that got dragged to the movie with their kid; a very human, believable hero who rises to the occasion and becomes better than he is; a young woman who goes against her imposed "place in society" to do what she knows is right; some really well-done stunts and "no-blood-or-gore" action/swordfighting sequences; even a nice subplot of the young buck learing a thing or two from the old war horse who in turn learns just as much from him-

REALLY, people, what else is there? What else do you need, right? An all around perfect movie in every sense for all practical purposes- a great "popcorn" movie- so long as, I guess, you don't HATE Martin Lawrence... (but how could you?) My highest rating: Five "Damn, Gina!"'s
