Though it sells for a reasonable price, the GE VG4268 VCR offers several features often found in more expensive VCRs. The unit features a much-needed Commercial Advance feature, which locates and electronically marks most of the commercial segments. When you play back a Commercial Advance tape, the VCR automatically scans or fast-forwards through the marked segments, displaying a blue screen or video during the process. With Commercial Advance, three minutes of commercial time is reduced to approximately 10 seconds (SLP mode). Another exclusive feature is Movie Advance, which automatically finds the beginning of the movie on most rented and purchased video tapes. This feature also allows you to select which previews you'd like to watch, so you can skip from one to the next. Once the GE VG4268 finds the movie, the VCR cues to the beginning, then pauses the tape and informs you that the movie is ready to play.
