Summary: So bad, it's funny!
Review: This is a touching story of deaf-mute Ruth and severely mentally and physically handicapped Remy, and their attempts to learn the game of golf. In all seriousnes, this DVD is awful. First of all, this is an instructional series from 1983! Though it is cool to see persimmon woods and hickory(!) shafts, many of the teaching methods are outdated. The instructor, John Norsworthy's putting stroke is fundamentally unsound, and I cringe at the thought that beginners might attempt to mimic his knock-kneed stance, his wristy stab at the ball, and ball position which is placed too far inside his sightline.
I also can't imagine that an experienced golfer would actually learn something from this video! 45-minutes with a qualified PGA instructor would cover all the bases and then some.
Back to Remy and Ruth, the two hapless beginners. Norsworthy gets so fed up with them, that he throws sand in their face with unabashed glee! He also leaves them on the course by themselves, in order to visit the hotel pub! I guess that part was funny.
I can't recommend this DVD to anybody. The instruction is poor and watching Remy and Ruth gave me a sad-headachy feel. Also, since this was recorded nineteen years ago, the travelogue that is included has limited benefits.
I am very very very suspicious of all the 5 star reviews this DVD has received. They must not be real, because they are misleading and they resemble bad infomercials.

Summary: Laidback European Golf Instruction
Review: Truly unique training, in this hyper-competitive culture where even kids in Little League seem to have their own agents. Jon is so laidback in his instruction, you are just kind of absorbing the knowledge. The footage in Valbonne is beautiful--after a day at the public course, I can only dream of going to some of those courses in France that sit on cliffs at the ocean's edge.
If you like golf, or know someone who does, I would recommend this DVD. The information is solid.

Summary: Very average DVD...I wasted my money!
Review: Well I've recently taken up golf at age 39 and am having lessons with a pro. I thought I'd buy some golf books as well as searching DVD's and Videos for any teaching titles. Here are my thoughts on "Good Golf is Easy"- If you have never played golf (I mean never) then this title might be of some value, however if you have played even a few rounds it is pretty useless.
- The lessons are from a golf show that was on air in the 80's so get used to big hair and 80's clothes and over acting by the presenter. I particularly liked the presenters attempt to answer spontaneous questions (that fall really flat)
- The two pupils lack co-ordination (the bloke in particular) and I would cringe every time he tried to hit the ball.
- There are some useful tips and exercises however this DVD is really average and not something I would look at more than once.
- In summary I was pretty disappointed with this DVD as the footage is nearly 20 years old, production values are poor and the lessons aimed at the absolute novice. There must be better stuff than this around.
- If only the Tiger Woods how I play golf was available in DVD format. Now that's a great book!
Good gold might be easy however producing an up todate instructional video clealry isn't. Save your money and don't bother.

Review: What a great use of DVD! Good Golf is Easy features a 13 part golf instruction series taught by John Norsworthy, a well-known teaching Pro in Europe. The series also features a travelogue of some of the most spectacular golf courses in Europe--the rugged and beautiful courses in the south of France. What's great for the viewer is to be able to navigate from the lessons, to the travel pieces, and back through golf tricks and triva. It's a great gift idea for golfers of all ages and abilities.

Summary: I'm going golfing in France!
Review: What a nice dvd! As a beginner, there were a couple things I now see I was doing wrong, and this dvd made it so easy to see. Now I can hardly wait to get home from work to practice my swing. But even better, after my wife saw the dvd and the beautiful settings we started planning a golf vacation in the south of France next spring! My wife is going on a GOLFING vacation? How lucky am I? Well worth the price, I highly recommend it!

Summary: Great refreshment course for this Norsworthy student
Review: While on a business trip five years ago in Valbonne France, I took two private lessons with Jon Norsworthy. He was the best golf instructor I have ever been to, no question about it. When I saw that there was a video with him, I had to get it. He's as good on film as in person. The only reason I didn't give the dvd five stars is because the two students he had, Ruth and Ramey, were very bad and gave the impression that this instruction is only for beginners. Jon's instruction is of benefit to experienced golfers and it would have been nice if one of his students was an accomplished golfer. Otherwise, this dvd was excellent and I'd recommend it to Norsworthy fans and those who'd like to find out what they're missing by not visiting the South of France.
