Summary: A good balance of price, performance and features
Review: I went from a pair of Sony Studio headphones MDR-V6, which recently bit the dust, to these Advent AW770 wireless headphones. Considering that the price for each was roughly $100, I expected to lose some quality and performance to gain wireless flexibility. As far as the sound quality goes, they definitely do not match the range and clarity of the Sony headphones, but I would consider it better than average. It is an acceptable trade off, a little bit lesser sound quality, for the ability to walk around the house with your headphones on. The manual claims that they work up to 300 feet away (the length of a football field). In actuality, it was more like 75 feet though a few walls. I could easily walk all around my townhouse & about 20 feet outside before they started to get a bit fuzzy. All in all, I would consider these to be a good buy.

Summary: Ok when on same floor and perhaps a room or two away.
Review: I have a 5000 sq ft home. I have hooked up to television in family room so that I can keep track of CNBC/Financial where ever I am in home, garage, or yard.

Works ok on first floor within room or 2 of family room. Worthless outside in yard. Almost as bad when upstairs in most rooms. Perhaps 2.4 giga/Hz would be a better idea.

A better idea instead of earphones would be perhaps a small sized portable with speaker that you could carry in a pocket such as a portable am/fm radio is and running at 2.4 gig.

Right idea but no cigar!

Summary: Great for around the house
Review: First, if you're a Hi-Fi nut and want to spend hours analyzing every nuance of your SACD's, these aren't the headphones for you. Spend your money on some nice WIRED headphones, like the Sony MDR-V600.

If you just want to listen to your music privately with the freedom to move about the house untethered, the Advent AW770 headphones are a great choice.

I have two 400 CD changers and two Advent AW810 wireless speakers. This set up is perfect for parties. But the AW770 headphones are great for listening to music at night without disturbing everyone else in the house, or while working in the yard. Plus, the AW770 headphones and the 2 AW810's all work from the same transmitter -- all three work at once without any noticeable signal degradation.

Again, these are not for critical, CD-quality listening. They're comparable to FM, and very practical for private listening around the house. If you have a vast CD collection and can't always blast the stereo, I highly recommend the AW770 headphones.

Only complaint: sound is a little too bass heavy. Also, Amazon's picture of the back of the transmitter is inaccurate.

Summary: Decent sound for music, poor for talk
Review: I had to return these phones as they were essentially unusable for spoken words. I use headphones on the computer for both music listening and internet phone calls. Music sounded okay, although there was some detectable hissing. However, talk (or anything with silent patches) was very choppy. You could make out what was being said, but it made extended calls somewhat aggravating.

On the plus side, the phones were very comfortable.

Summary: not at all "high fidelity"
Review: I had read the reviews where people were mentioning trouble with static in the headphones. I found that mine were shipped with the wrong transformer. Mine came with a 12v/100mA transformer, but the back of the transmitter shows that it needs 18v. Also the low amperage will increase the hissing. I got a generic 18v/300mA transformer at the store and now the hissing noise is gone and I can listen to anything I want with the volume up or down. I hope this helps.

Summary: Nothing wrong with these at all...
Review: Fine sound, good reception over a decent range (looks like I can get around the yard without them making any big complaints), comfortable.

I would say that the fidelity is only slightly less than the earbuds I'm used to. And the separation is better than I expected. There is a fair amount of hiss if no music is on, but I'm pretty picky and I think its totally tolerable.
