Summary: Get What You Pay For
Review: All in all worth the money, you could pay double and not end up with much better. Mine had a huge dark full hand print inside the screen, just terrible quality control. Called APEX, they could care less so I disassembled the unit to clean the screen and the mirror was just filthy with dust. It's fine now, average color and clarity. Not worth a penny more though.

Summary: Don't buy this one.
Review: We made the mistake that many others did by purchasing this TV. Amazon maked it clear that they will not accept returns on projection TVs but it was too good of a deal for me to pass up. So, just remember, if even one of these reviews is right & you are stuck with a lemon, you can't send it back to Amazon. We bought ours from Amazon in August. The delivery was quick but the picture looked like an hour glass and the inside of the screen had the same handprints all over it like everyone else complains about. Good luck to anyone trying to get through to customer service. After literally several hours on the phone (thank God I have a speakerphone), we finally did get through and, yes they were cordial but just told me to call the local repair shop. The repair shop eventually came out, couldn't fix it, eventually took it back to their shop, eventually got the parts from Apex, eventually "fixed it" but after getting it back 2+ months after we first got it, the convergence still isn't right, the picture is distorted, all the buttons on the remote don't work (even when it is on TV mode), there's absolutely no difference between watching it using high-end coax cables, component cables or RCA cables. Don't waste your money on this brand... of course, if you want to buy mine...

Summary: Don't Bother - Get Another Brand!
Review: We have had our TV for a little over a year. After the first month we had to call Apex for service, well none of their contracted centers would come to our area. So finally after a couple of weeks of back and forth and hours on hold the the store we purchased from replaced our set with an identical model. Then about 10 months after the new set will turn itself off and back on again - for no apparant reason! We did get a technician out this time, but after replacing the whole circuit board it is worse than before. Now it just turns off, and you have to turn it back on yourself! Forget trying to watch a movie, you miss half the plot turning the set back on!

I do not recommend this set to anyone! I only give it one star because they don't allow us to post negative stars!

Summary: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Review: I SELL TV'S, APPLIANCES, ETC. IN A DEPT STORE.
WE SELL THIS SET FOR $999.99 REGULARLY, $699.99 SALE.
THEY SELL AT BOTH PRICES.
HALF THE SETS ARE RETURNED (DEFECTIVE, BAD PICTURE, NOT WHAT CUSTOMER THOUGHT THEY WERE GETTING).
WE DO SELL EXTENDED WARRANTIES (2 YEAR IN HOME $80 TO 5 YEARS $250). I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS SET TO ANYONE BUT IF SOMEONE WANTS IT, I DO STRONGLY RECCOMMEND GETTING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.
PERSONNALLY, AT WHAT WE SELL IT FOR, I TELL PEOPLE TO INVEST THE MONEY ON A BETTER SET (HIGH DEF).
AS FOR APEX, THIS SET IS LISTED AS *DIGITAL* BUT DIGITAL DOES NOT MEAN HIGH-DEFINITION!!!
ON THIS SET, DIGITAL REFERS TO HOW A DVD CAN BE CONECTED TO IT. (READ THE FINE PRINT).
AS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO BUY LARGE ITEMS ON-LINE: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.... YOU GET YOUR ITEM, BUT NO SUPPORT, NO ONE TO ASK QUESTIONS, NO ONE TO HELP.
I HAD SOMEONE BUY A SET FROM QVC THEN CALL ME FOR HELP ON DOING CONVERGENCE... MY ANSWER WAS TO CALL QVC.
MOST SALESPEOPLE ARE COMMISSION. DON'T TAKE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND GIVE THEM THE SHAFT.

Summary: Terrible Experience
Review: Don't waste your time or money on this one. I ordered this set from Amazon back in Auguest of 2003 and have just now gotten Apex to refund my money. During the 7 months that I've owned the TV, it's been in the shop for 6 1/2 months. The repair shop told me that they replaced 'just about every board there is in the set' and just can't get it to work. They also conveyed their frustration in getting APEX parts which can take a month or two to get sometimes. Overall a terrible experience, with APEX customer service giving me the run-around ever single time I called them. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Stay FAR AWAY from APEX.

Summary: Well worth the money in my humble opinion!
Review: Perhaps I am speaking too soon after reading all of these terrible reviews regarding this product, but mine works like a charm. I purchased it at a local store with and extended 2 yr warranty just in case, so that I don't have to deal with Apex directly. Sound and picture are a wonderful upgrade from our little 27 in TV. DVD's and Videos play superbly. Some of the local channels are a TINY bit fuzzy, but most are awesome. I am delighted for the money. However I definately recommend purchasing your product through a reputable dealer and get an extended warranty. Considering this unit was literally HALF the price of anything else out there, the $150 extra bucks for the warranty seems worth the piece of mind it provides. Good luck!

Summary: Excellent for the Price!
Review: I paid $$$$ plus $$$$ to ship. There was also a $$$ mail in rebate so final cost will be $518. Sound quality is excellent. My convergence was right on and needed no adjustment. To get your best picture quality you will need Digital cable or satellite. The poor picture quality I get from my mediocre analog Time Warner cable is more pronounced on a screen this big as compared to my smaller tube sets. Where this set's picture really excels is when using a progressive scan DVD player and component cables. Then the output is absolutely outstanding. Colors are bright and picture sharpness and detail are as good as it gets not withstanding comparison to a plasma TV. Just make sure your DVD player has adjustments of it's own for brightness and contrast, otherwise the Apex may not be able to compensate for those by itself.

Summary: Pretty cheapo TV, buy it for your 2 year old.
Review: So I go the TV deliver, and it wound't power up. I called up Apex support, which in turn referred to me a local warranty place. I called them, and a tech came out who couldn't fix it on site, so they took it to their shop. They had it for a month and a half, waiting for parts. I finally got the TV back, and it was working, but the convergence was crappy, and picture quality is sub-par. If you fix the convergence and turn the TV off, the next time you turn it on the convergence will be off again. Save your money and invest in a 16:9 widescreen HDTV with a DVI interface, so you won't have to buy another TV in 1 year.

Summary: it's o.k.
Review: My television works good although only having it a month and there is no longer green fields. and Apex customer service (if you can get through) was beating around the bush so much. I think this whole brand is a lemon. I guess you really do get what you pay for ..The sound volume is the best, very very loud..If only the customer service could be a percent of the great volume controll.it would make it better...so the moral of the story dont expect too much from the company...fix it yourself or call local its less stress in the long or short run.

Summary: Truly worth the buy
Review: I have looked at these televisions for some time and was in search of a reasonable price (usually up to $1,000+ in most stores). I recently bought one off of this site (dispite the reviews for under $720 delivered! I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the 43", the picture is crystal clear and no flaws what so ever. I don't know about customer service-haven't had to call them. The set up of this tv is relatively easy, with the exception of "training it" you have to be able to work your way throught the manual and the remote and menu to correctly set it up. I had no problem programming my remote controls. As with all remotes, none are able tocompletely control every option on every piece of electronics so hang on to all originals. I am very please to be DIGITAL this is an amazingly cheap upgrade from my Emerson 27"
