Summary: Almost worth the money
Review: I spent several weeks doing research about all kinds of MP3 players on the market. Each one had something seriously wrong with it (buttons falling off, sound quality lacking, short battery life, software problems), but the only major complaints I'd read about the iPod were regarding its price, and I have to agree: it is expensive, very expensive.

However, it still is the best or second best on the market. The iRiver is supposed to be better (i.e., it acts as a hard drive by itself without software), but it's also pricy. I tend not to like Apple products because, even though they're cute and "user-friendly," they tend not to be highly customizable. My wife bought an iPod earlier, though, so I figured if I'm going to be shelling out a lot of money, I might as well share hardware with her (so, no iRiver).

I have not regretted this purchase. Sure, it set me back three hundred dollars, but the new software updates have really improved the iPod. First of all, there is a fairly simple way to transfer music from the iPod to your hard drive (in windows, search for hidden files). You can also now create playlists on the go (and rate songs as you go as well). I think Apple has really gone out of its way to make the iPod accessible to Windows users. I still remain anti-Apple, but I'm now pro-iPod.

And, 15G is plenty of room for music collections. You don't have to put ALL the music you have on your iPod. How could you possibly have more than 3000 favorites?

Summary: Best electronic purchase in ages.
Review: I have been a fan of MP3 technology for the past 4 years or so now but like a lot of stagnantly minded people I was still clinging to CD technology and just treated MP3 technology as "something you listen to while I worked on the PC".But about a year ago I purchased a CD MP3 played and was amazed at the fact that one could rip and burn about 10-15 albums worth onto one cd.But there was a drawback, constant organization issues of not knowing what is where and just the bulkiness of the product limited the portability. So I decided to plop down the $300 for this gizmo and I don't regret it one bit.I still am amazed at the size of the I-pod,it easily fits in the back pocket which is a wonder when performing odd jobs and working out.But one of the main features is the scroll pad is a wonder which makes for quick browsing of songs, artists and albums. Also I have a lot of large file audio books and it makes navigated through the track a breeze. But the big kicker is the the drive size of 15G and it's one of the smallest of the standard I-Pod's but I have about 3700 songs on my Pod and I only have the thing half full.So if your like me and are converting your Cd collection over to MP3 I would buy one of these in a heartbeat..you won't regret it.

Review: At first glance, you might say this is far too expensive. I can tell that it is worth every penny. This is not the average mp3 player. You can play many formats (including audible) and also enable disk storage (windows and mac partitions). You have a clock, an alarm, contacts, notes, games, etc... What else could a person ask for ???

Summary: Much more than Music
Review: I bought an iPod about three weeks ago. It is about the best thing I've bought since I bought my G4 two years ago. This iPod is said to hold 3700 songs, give or take, and I have 1129 and counting loaded on there. I like saying that, it just blows people away. It syncs perfectly and quickly with iTunes, updating my songs, playlists and play counts, PLUS it syncs with iSync a standard app on my Mac which updates all my Address Book contacts, iCal calendars and load then right in. I also put some of my class notes on my iPod and view them right in the Notes function. It let's me rate 1 to 5 stars all my songs on the go as well as make playlist with one thumb. The rechargeable battery last my whole 7 hour day on campus. I also transport DV files on it and it can boot my Mac if necessary. This iPod does much more than music, it's a good tool and just plain cool. I know it might be steep for some to get, but I recommend everyone to get one either new, used, or refurbished. Apple's Hot Deals site had a refurb. iPod 20GB for $299, the same as I paid for a 15GB one. I love it.

Summary: Works fine with XP people!!!!!
Review: I love my 15gb Ipod it is an amazing little product. I had no problems using the bundled software provided (Itunes For windows/Mac) and I'm running Windows Xp Home edition. I love how the Ipod automatically transfers the songs and playlists In my Itunes library. Also, it is a must to buy a case because i've noticed that the back scratches and leaves fingerprints very easily. I'm a little worried about a battery replacement in the future but i have the Apple Protection plan just in case i ever have a problem with the unit. For all of you cloners out there the Ipod is the best mp3 player in world so stop copying!!lol.... Mercedes Benz & Hyundai don't compare!!!!!!!! or Iriver for that matter. For those of you that cannot get the Ipod to sync with Windows then read the directions!!! it helps you know

Summary: So easy to use & fun, too
Review: I bought my 15GB iPod about a week or so after my iMac and I'm still amazed by it. I had originally planned on purchasing a Mini-iPod, but having already transferred nearly 2000 songs, I was wise to pay the extra $80 for the extra memory. I mainly use my iPod at the gym and it is a total godsend. I can periodically update my playlist and move & delete songs in no time so my routines do not become stale. The sound is extraordinary and the earphones fit snuggly. I would have recommend that you purchase a case to store your iPod in, since they are prone to scratching. I bought the white hard plastic case and it works well.

Summary: Great little Music Box, but you need the right stuff.
Review: I bought this a month ago, but wasn't able to use it until recently when I bought one of the Apple-suggested PC Firewire cards for my laptop. Be sure you get one of the cards Apple suggested to save you alot of headaches. Anyhow, The iPod is awesome. You can fit so many songs on it it's unreal. The quality of the songs (I use ACC format) is CD quality. Access to your songs is easy, you can find them by album, artist, genre or whatever. The only thing wrong is it scratches a little bit, but I still like the construction. I bought the Belkin leather case to cut back on scratches. Other good features include the little extras you get. The music quiz uses the songs you have on your iPod to quiz you. It gives you a certain amount of time before it reveals the answer and you lose out on points...fun. All around great product.

Summary: Ipod
Review: I have an Ipod and i have to say i love it i can carry all of my songs in my pocket but there are a couple of things i hate about it it scratches like all the time, when you have polarized sunglasses you can't see the screen, it isnt heavy but it is slim and so it slips out of my hand alot and its really easy to drop, I love the music fact of the ipod but i think it is horribly made

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Little Too Big
Review: I like that it can hold a bunch of songs, but it's kind of big to take with you too many places. The screen is hard to see on the go as well.
