The lens quality if exceptional.. The features are perfect.. The perfect camera for anyone with minimum knowledge of photography.. Summary: The perfect point and shoot
Review: I am a photo enthusiast and was looking for a simple to use point and shoot 35 mm camera that would create photographs comparable to my more sophisticated 35 mm equipment. Well .. here it is. This little camera produces great results with very little effort. Also, it has a solid feel and a comfortable view-finder, much unlike other cameras in its class. I have used other compact point and shoot cameras and it is often a nuisance trying to look through the tiny view-finders with which those cameras are often equipped. The 130 mm zoom lens is simply terrific. I would strongly recommend this camera - simple to use and great photos. What more could you ask for? You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Great camera for a great price
Review: I bought this camera a few months ago for a trip to Europe. I wanted something inexpensive, versatile, lightweight, and easy to use that would still give me some good-quality prints. This camera delivered everything I wanted-my pictures came out great, and it was very simple to use. I took pictures inside and outside and in all different lightings, and the many different settings made it easy to adjust to wherever I was.
It was easy to carry around since it's so small and lightweight, and I've accidentally dropped it a couple of times now, and seems to be pretty durable. The only partial disappointment was the panorama feature--pic tures taken on this setting print as regular 4x6's, but with a black stripe on the top and the bottom. This is not really that big a drawback, but if you're going to buy the camera you should know in advance that that's what it does.
Other than that, I think this camera is great! ...it's truly an amazing value and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in taking some really nice pictures with a simple point-and-shoot.

Summary: A Great Camera
Review: I bought this camera because my old one broke. Everywhere I go I like to take pictures as kind of like a souvenir, and I bought this camera for a recent trip. It worked perfectly. The directions in the manual were quite simple and got to taking pictures before I knew it. The size, easiness, and weight make it very convienent. I was amazed at it's toughness for such a small camera. It's also a great camera for someone who is just beginning and knows little about pictures. Highly recommended!

Summary: Pictures are grainy, overexposed
Review: I bought this camera for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London last month. I snapped three rolls of film during my trip and used the panorama feature extensively. All of the pictures came out fuzzy, grainy, overexposed, and unfocused. In addition, what you think you're framing when using the viewfinder is not what actually gets taken, especially with the panorama feature. I am having the lab redevelop the pictures, in case it was their fault, but they are a reliable picture lab in the Boston area and do thousands of pictures a day; I highly doubt it's them. I had a Pentax point-and-shoot for 7 years that worked well until about a year ago and then started producing overexposed, overflashed pictures. Because I owned it successfully for that long and because it was so highly rated here, I bought this new version of that same camera. It was a big mistake. I would advise that if you want a decent point-and-shoot camera that will last and take great pictures the whole time, buy a Canon. I had one of those for 10 years prior to this, and that was back when point-and-shoot was still new technology. I'll probably be going back to that brand after this. This one is a waste of money.

Summary: Great value for the money...
Review: I bought this camera for an up-coming trip to New Orleans. My decision was based on the reviews here on amazon.com. This is my first time using a Pentax.

I have shot one roll of film, trying different lighting situations, different zoom lengths, in-doors, out-doors, regular and panoramic mode.

I have always used Minolta professional cameras in the past. The quality of photos from this little camera is as good, if not better, than those from my Minolta equipment.

I am now ready to take on New Orleans in style and with a camera that is light-weight, easy to use, offers lots of useful features, and provides quality photographs, confident that I will be able to capture the beauty of the Big Easy with ease.

One note to the user complaining about black lines at the top/bottom of panoramic shots. The problem may be with your processor; it certainly isn't with the camera. While you do see, or appear to see, black lines when you look through the viewfinder with the camera in 'panoramic mode', my photographs were full size, great in their detail, and had no lines at top/bottom. If you are contemplating purchasing this item, don't let that deter you.

For the price, this is a great little picture-taker.

Summary: Great Pictures, Easy to use
Review: I bought this camera last week for my trip to the Tony Awards, and I was more than pleased with its performance. After a quick glance through the manual, the camera's functions were easy and convienent.

The camera has a lot of options, including different flashes, red eye reducer, and a great auto-focus. Everything worked perfectly, and I had no problems with the camera. Even the panorama mode was an easy change.

This camera is good for someone who knows a little about photography, and needs more than just a basic point and shoot. It is simple to use, and the pictures all came out crystal clear.

I would recommend this very small and very light camera to anyone who wants to take a good picture, with very little hassle.
