Summary: Elegant computing solution
Review: The Lexar JumpDrive is an elegant solution to storage problems. I needed to archive my client database, and first tried Yahoo Briefcase, but it took literally hours to download the data, and updating the file required erasing the original before uploading the new version. The JumpDrive, however, does everything it says it will, and easily. No software, no drivers; just plug in and drag files to the disk image. Works quickly , and is good to look at as well. Users of Mac OS X: be aware that the JumpDrive comes formatted for Windows; if you're using Mac OS X, you may get "-50" errors when writing files to disk, unless you reformat the JumpDrive into the HFS+ format first, by using the Disk Utility program included with Mac OS X.

Summary: Awesome gizmo!
Review: Being a graduate student in the sciences, I was in need of an easier way to transfer data from one computer to another and the Lexar Media JumpDrive fills the role perfectly. Just insert it into a USB slot on any computer running Windows 98 or later and it is automatically detected as a separate physical drive. Win 98 does require a driver download, but I have installed it on at least 4 computers and have not had any problems at all. There is no driver for Win 95 (which they advertise upfront), but all of our computers run later OS's. This is an easy and convenient way to transfer data - highly recommended!

Summary: The World's Your Oyster
Review: Thumb drives, flash drives, removable portable drives--whatever you call them, they're exploding all over the place, and my colleagues at work have never even heard of them. They're either still burning CD's or carrying Zip discs between their Omegas at work and home. (I was sending e-mail attachments back and forth to myself every night, cumbersome and time-consuming.)

These little digital archival devices are a godsend. I purchased this Lexar for myself and a Cyclone for my wife. She promptly switched with me (I'm easy) because the Lexar is as tiny as they come, adding no weight or bulk to a burgeoning key chain and easily fitting in the port of a crowded hub without the removal of any adjacent plug (the Cyclone is a hair too wide, requiring either the removal of a plug or an extension cable connected to the hub).

One downside: the Lexar (with rebate) packs the most MB's in the tiniest shell for the smallest price. But it's practically as easy to lose as a plastic toothpick. (I couldn't even find it when it was in my pocket!) Also, the clip is very flimsy, just waiting to break off (nothing to grieve over, since it's unlikely you would wear this mini marvel like a fountain pen). Finally, the keychain hole is in the unit itself rather than the cover. (The Cyclone is the same.) If the cover were attached to the keychain, you could easily remove the unit for insertion into your USB port.

Ruthlessly pragmatic advice: buy the cheapest minidrive, even if it means sacrificing some MB space. inevitiably you're going to lose or misplace this slight and light object, leading to purchase of another.

Review: Love it! Works great.
I was lucky enough to get it with the []rebate.
Had to download a driver for WIN98SE from Lexar.
It installed without a problem. Needs no diver for XP, true
plug n' play out of the box. Excellent Service from Amazon.com...

Summary: Perfect little storage device
Review: This fit my needs! What were those needs? I needed a portable storage device that would travel easily, switch between multiple brands of PCs, and require no software download.

So far so good. It truly is "plug and play." I'm on an HP 6000 Omnibook running Windows 2000. I've shared it with coworkers on IBM Thinkpads. It makes transferring our presentations a breeze. No more messing with email and Infrared!

It's smaller than I expected...which is a delight! The only negative I can find is that the OS must take up quite a bit of space on the jumpdrive...b/c the available memory is around 120mb.

No regrets! Buy it!

Summary: Thank you for this item--it is about time!
Review: GET ONE! It is about time the average user can have something techie like this. Think about it--No more backing up stuff all the time to stupid floppies. (I get so tired of those.) Then trying to remember which diskette the thing you need is on. (So you write on the labels, then add another label, then scribble that out...and on and on.)
I can keep all my word processing files on this little thing. (about 2.5 inches long, 1 inch wide, 3/8 inch thick--sorta like a flat, purple, circus peanut) It is marketed at 88 floppies, but I have read here that it is a little less. Even if it is only 80--that is great for me. It looks like about 120 not 125, but my documents aren't that big.
Since I work at different locations (plus at home) I don't have to lug a pile of diskettes with me anymore, just this little thing. (I am considering getting another one for photos.) It is just perfect for anyone who has to work on things at different places.
Everyone who sees me use this wants to know first what it is, then where can they get one! No, this isn't for backing up tons of data, but the exact solution for portability of more than a few floppies can hold. I try to copy all the revisions to the hard drive once in a while, just in case.
Haven't gotten my rebate yet--it has been 2 weeks, but I took the precaution of stapling AND taping the UPC on the form. So we will see. Psssst...don't tell Lexar, but I am more than thrilled with it even at the price before the rebate! I know some friends who will be getting this as a Christmas present. You really will love this little gadget.

Summary: Excellent mobile storage device
Review: A perfect sleek companion that carries all the information you need, TO GO.
Just plug it (instantly recognized by both Mac and PC), open its folder and Voila. Fast data transfer, good capasity (120 MB free space) and even write-protection of the stored data. It cannot get better than that, plus the real deal you get compared to competitors (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the rebate). Garanteed to fall in love with its simplicity and functionatily.
P.S. Try always to remember where you keep it as it can be lost easily.

Summary: driver compatibility with XP
Review: not sure how well the drive is supposed to work. I had made one successful transfer, but one out of two tries I would get the blue screen of death from the driver. I supposed this is to be a useful gadget but when you're the one who get the slightly defective product, even if it's the chance of 1/100 or something.. there's no reason to give it a good rating.

Summary: LifeSaver
Review: I don't have a printer for my laptop and had pages and pages of printscreens that needed to be printed from an on-line course I am taking. The size was too large for a floppy and too big to email. The files literally flew into the jumpdrive from the laptop. Then when I got to school, they were quickly transferred to my computer there. This has saved me SO much time! It holds the equivalent of 88 floppy disks.

Summary: NOT RELIABLE!
Review: There support is terrible. You can't get a straight answer. This device will not back up and restore files on Quicken and other programs. It will lock up yoiur sytem when you restore! There support has no answers and won't send an rma to get replacement. It will drag and drop files but throws them all out of order. You can do the same thing with smart media cards and reader much cheaper and it is reliable!
