Summary: Great player for the price
Review: I bought mine in September, and am looking to get one for my daughter for Christmas. Seems like some recent buyers have really bad reviews, so I wonder if there's a bad batch out there. My player works fine, although the sound usint the car attachment is not the best (I have a good Blaupunkt cassette player and decent speakers). It does eat batteries awfully fast, but that's not a problem because I pretty much exclusively use it in the car.

My advice--wait and see if more recent buyers are giving better reviews, or purchase a different model.

Summary: Great player for the price
Review: I bought this CD player for my daughter's birthday, and, only 4 weeks later, it's completely dead. I've replaced the batteries, checked all the external connections, and even tried the AC adapter. This is the worst product I have ever seen. NO tech support. NO return policy, or repair places mentioned on-line. Hell, even the product itself isn't on the KOSS website. I'll never buy KOSS again.

Summary: Okay...but...
Review: I bought this cdplayer with carkit about a year ago and some months, summer of 2000. It worked great the first few months/weeks, but then the buttons just started going wierd on me, and not functioning correctly. Maybe there was a cross of information, because the back track button actually plays forward, and yeah...

And then about a week or so ago the thing just started skipping after 17secs worth of playing on any song/track.

Given, the cd player has lasted for so long, its a nice buy. But if youre looking for a long lasting investment, i suggest that you take your money else where. spend that extra buck and buy sony, or something.

Summary: A Warning.......DONT BUY
Review: I bought this item about 2 months ago. I took it on one trip with me and it worked fine. Every aspect of it was great, I like the look and the anti-skip. Then, on the second trip I took it on, I put in a new CD, and it didn't play. I figured it was the batteries, so I put in brand new batteries, and it still didn't work. Then, I tried to switch CDs, but it made no difference. Now, all the thing does is spin the CD for about 3 seconds, then say there is no disc. I think there is a problem with the laser, but I barely used the unit. I think that now on, I will get a personal CD player from a company that I know has a great reputation like Sony or Panasonic.

Summary: Not bad - not bad at all
Review: I bought this player based solely on the price and the reviews posted here on Amazon. The player arrived yesterday and I am actually very happy with it. I would have rated it 5 stars if the headphones were better (after all Koss *is* a headphone manufacturer, right?). Some quick random comments:

1) The car cassette adapter worked very well and I was surprized by the punchy bass. Very satisfied.

2) A couple reviews noted something about the 40 sec antiskip not working immediately. What it does when enabled is spin the disk at double speed (hence a little more battery drain) and starts reading ahead until it fills the buffer and then returns to single speed. It PLAYS while in this process, so there is no problem from my experience. Any normal motion requires the antiskip to be on or the unit will skip. I guess rechargable batteries are my next purchase.

3) Wish it had a tad more volume, but it is acceptable. Sound quality overall is very good. I think the headphones will be useless for jogging as they don't seem to hug the head very tightly.

4) Unit is very compact and thin. People commented that the case closes hard - I find that only to be true if you are in a hurry. Case seems pretty sturdy. The blue case cool factor is very high.

5) This is a recommended purchase if this is your price range.

Summary: Great looking, great quality, and a GREAT price!
Review: I just bought this Koss a few weeks ago. Its absolutely perfect! It looks great, the buttons are excellently located and they are very large and readable. In a lot of reviews, they said the Anti-Skip is not good. The reason is, as you can see on the LCD display, the anti-skip doesn't come on instantly, you have to wait about 15-30 seconds for it to load completely. but that 15-30 seconds is definetely worth it! it DOES NOT skip AT ALL. Even without it, when I'm in a car and I listen, it still doesnt skip. if you shake it, of course it would skip a little, but what would you expect? The Anti-Skip rarely needs to be used in cars or when walking. It's very light, which is great for running and walking or any traveling. What I like most about my Koss is..the value! It's a great price, and it has features that i would expect from a $100 diskman! At first, when I bought it, I didnt really trust it because Koss isnt really a household name. But I was wrong, its great! But there is one extra thing you should buy with any diskman that I highly recommend. A holder for it. It protects it, and it carries it around without you holding it (even though the Koss is light, its nice to have one). I highly reccomend this diskman, and if I were you, I WOULD GET IT! you'll see what a great diskman it is. I really mean it!

Summary: Songus interruptus - just stops working sometimes
Review: I love this CD player - when it works. I've had it about two weeks and twice now, it's just stopped, right in the middle of a song! I tried brand-new batteries; I plugged it electrically, I played with the volume, tried a different headset, adjusted everything - to no avail. But then it starts working again the next day or whatever. Strange. If this keeps up I'm going to have to return it! But when it works, it's great. I wouldn't let my experience stop you from buying this player, necessarily. Probably an isolated occurrence (lucky me).

Summary: This Is A Great CD Player
Review: I love this CD player, it worked wonders for me. I am always on the road or out in the outdoors, this CD player was great because I could listen to sjip free music all the time. I could even listen to it in the car with the included car kit. This was a good buy!
