Summary: Don't do it!
Review: I was very enthusiastic about getting this phone because of the reviews, its look and the fact that it was, for all intents and purposes, free. It arrived and switching my number from Sprint was fairly easy, though required a few calls to T-Mobile to check on their progress.Navigating around the phone is fairly easy, and the display is great... indoors. Outdoors is another story entirely. The bluetooth functionality is pretty good, too, though when used with the Jabra headset, I can't get more than 10-15 feet away without losing the quality. Now for the downside: I live in NYC where the entire city is a wind tunnel. The bulk of my calling occurs when I'm walking on the street. This phone picks up all of the surrounding noise - car horns, sirens, and especially wind - often eliciting comments from people on the other end such as "are you in a helicopter?" I'm not sure if this is a setting that I can adjust or if it's just the way the phone is. Certainly, if it's the latter, I'm going to need to get another phone since the microphone sensitivity is simply unacceptable.

Summary: A Very Good Phone, but not perfect...
Review: Personally, I love this phone. I've had this phone for 3 months now, and I'm very happy with it. T-Mobile doesn't have the greatest service, but the phone does a pretty good job of picking up a signal. I've never let more than 3 days go by without charging it, but I'd still say it would get about 4-5 days of standby with low usage. Now, let me state the flaws so I can get to the good stuff. WEAKNESSES:
1) The screen becomes washed out in sunlight
2) Without a case, the screen gets many scratches (but they are only visible when the screen is off or you're in sunlight)
3) The menu's can be a bit more complicated than necessary
4) No dedicated pickup/hangup buttons
5) Rarely the phone will freeze and has to be restarted
6) The camera's not so hot, but hey, its a phone. In my mind, these flaws are fairly minor, so I will get to the good stuff. STRENGTHS:
1) 65,000 color screen that will automatically go off when not in use
2) Bluetooth and Infrared connectivity
3) Camera, picture messaging, photo-callerID
4) Tons of cool accessories (but they're pretty expensive)
5) Small and lightweight, yet sturdy
6) Voice memos, record a phonecall
7) Cool design
8) Calendar/Alarm that can alert you even when you've turned off the phone.

Summary: Nice Features, Very Poor Reception
Review: I'm one of those people who don't get caught up in bells and whistles, but am a stickler for good design and practical features. I've had the T610's predicessor, the T68i for over a year now, and by far my biggest problem with that phone is a reception that's poorer than other people's T-Mobile phones I'd compared it to. Other than this, I had minor gripes with the User Interface being slow, weak Bluetooth support and other silly design choices. Still, it was enough to make me buy it over the others. I decided to get the T610 to see if it addressed any of my issues with the T68i. The User Interface is much faster, and the display more pleasing (albeit hard to see in light, a minus). The phone-camera is an absolute joke - very poor quality - but most of these 1st generation phone-cameras are. HOWEVER, the big problem is (and this boggled my mind), the reception is _consistantly_and_significantly_worse_ than the t68i, when I would compare them side by side in different places around SF. Why they would design it this way when the T68i already suffers from poor reception is beyond me. Perhaps it was designed for Europe initially, where there is much stronger and consistant GSM coverage than in the US. At any rate, it was the deal breaker for me, and I returned the phone and cancelled the contract, which T-Mobile did quickly enough, after offering me a few carrots to keep the contract. Too bad. If the reception worked well, it would be the best phone out there. Selling a lot of these in the US can only hurt T-Mobile, as people will only blame the phone's lousy performance on them and move to another carrier. Sony Ericsson really needs to address this.

Summary: BEST PHONE FOR THE MONEY
Review: Been using this T610 for a while and I learn more about it everyday. This is not a perfect phone but if you want to spend sometime on it, its a perfect phone for the money. BAD:
1. Signal meter fluctuates a lot
2. Bad reception
3. LCD hard to see in daylight GOOD:
1. Signal meter actually represent a REAL TIME signal. Other phones represent a snapshot. You can call when the signal bar is only 1.
2. Bad reception can be fixed by firmware. For some reason TMOBILE released this phone with an older firmware. The included firmware is R1S001, the latest one is R6B004. Go figure!
3. Easy to unlock so you can use other SIMs card in it and it becomes a TRUE WORLD PHONE. What you need to do all that is a TERMINATOR DONGLE. It will UNLOCK/FLASH/UPGRADE your SE phone. With the dongle you can CHANGE THE LANGUAGE too. You can buy the kit from http://sonyericsson.indoatlanta.com(cheaper) or get one from ebay. Just search TERMINATOR DONGLE in EBAY. Summary: Freezing
Review: Real quickly as I'm on hold with T Mobile right now. I've owned this phone for 45 days and haven't used it much. Yesterday it began to freeze. I couldn't use the keypad to input numbers during a call, I couldn't turn it off, when I removed the battery to turn off the phone and then reinserted it, the screen asked for a password because it was locked. I never programmed that function, nor did I have a password but continually pushing buttons finally cured this problem. Now T-Mobile will send me out a refurbished phone on an exchange program. This will be interesting because I have a feeling they will just send me out a phone that someone else has returned for the same problem as mine. Not so happy with this phone because I don't need the bells and whistles, I was just looking for a good phone with good reception and Amazon had this on their best sellers list. ...

Summary: Great phone; needs a better screen
Review: I've had this phone for just over three months, and I'm pretty happy with it. The phone's features have been discussed here and elsewhere in great details, and I won't spend too much time talking about them. It hasn't frozen on me once, and performed well overall. I would have given T610 5 stars if not for the following: 1. Screen is barely usable in bright light. Scratch that. It is not usable in bright light at all! 2. Synch. software bundled with the phone screwed up my Outlook installation: messages stopped arriving automatically, and I had to check for new messages manually. I am now using generic Bluetooth synchronization service, which unfortunately only works with contacts. 3. Battery life could be better. It's not bad - the phone lasts a couple of days of occasional use with Bluetooth always on, but it could be better. Your mileage may vary though, because battery life does depend on signal strength, and T-Mobile coverage in my house is pretty bad. I have found quality of the images produced by the phone camera to be so poor that I can't even imagine any use for the camera itself. I didn't expect it to be any good, so I suppose it "met expectations." Other notes: Jabra BT-200 headset works great with this phone. Voice dialing works reasonably well, especially with longer labels. For example, I couldn't get it to recognize 'dad', while 'father' worked fine. I never thought I would like the ability to change themes, but I do! Be sure to visit myt610.net for a great selection of free themes, rings, games, and more. Again, I'm pretty happy with the phone overall.

Summary: GOOD PHONE BUT BAD SERVIE
Review: I bought this phone in march. The thing is this phone has nice features but either t mobile service is bad or the phone sensors are weak as reception is bad. I called up T mobile several times and they said that they will take a look at the reception and put new towers if required. They did not live to their word as expected. I am thinking to file a lawsuit against t mobile to have such a bad reception and not living up to their word. The thing is the phone works well when i am outdoors but does not work well in indoors. So try other phones. I know ATT phone works well in my house since I had one before.

Summary: A good phone, once you overcome it's problems
Review: This is a really good phone. Easy menu operation, nice screen, good frame.
The one problem I had, and reading the reviews I can see other poeple had, is that the phone freezes a lot. I had this happen twice on my first phone so I called t-mobile and they sent another. That phone froze on me as well. The entire phone locks up and there is nothing you can do to get it to work until... I DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM! The phone doesn't actually freeze, it's the buttons on the keypad that get stuck! If you have this happen, look closley at the keypad, you will see that a number ( mine was 7) on the keypad pushed in too far. Just flick it back out with a finger nail and the phone will work agian. It seems that if a key gets stuck, the phone won't be able to do anything until you pop it back up. Other than that it is a good phone.

Summary: Great Phone - Cool Features
Review: This phone is a great buy! The bluetooth works great with the Jabra headset. While the built-in camera does not take Photo quality pics, it does allow for some fantastic candid shots on the go. Battery life has not been an issue so far.
