Summary: Good Product, bad logistics
Review: The Handspring Visor Edge worked great for about a year. It suddenly stopped working, charging, and resetting. I would consider waiting, and purchase a color screen.

Summary: Horrible Customer Support
Review: The Handspring Visor Edge worked for about 1 year and then quit. The online support is awful, and the number is priced per minute. I would suggest that you purchase a PDA from a company obviously willing to stand behind it's product, maybe PALM. Other than that it is a great handheld.

Summary: Nice PDA
Review: This is a great PDA for anyone that doesn't need many fancy bells and whistles, but wants a solid organizer and one that looks good. A word of caution: always get the screen warranty, believe me - it's worth it.

Summary: Thin, light, with a great metallic finish
Review: I love my Visor Edge. As a college student, I need the power it packs for keeping dates and assignments and phone numbers, and those basics are perfect for me. I added a program called 4.0 student, which is a great help in keeping track of my average. Yes, the Edge is a basic handheld, with no color screen, but the rechargable battery lasts a long time, it's extremely thin and light, and I find it to be the perfect handheld if you don't need the extra bells and whistles. Great price, too.

Summary: The thinner the better
Review: Ever seen these guys that carry around wallets an inch thick? I wonder to myself "how can they not feel that?" If I had a brick continuously jabbing my leg, I sure would. That's why I carry an ultra-slim wallet in my right pocket and a Visor Edge in the left.

For me, the choice between Palm and Handspring is black and white. Handspring is the clear choice with its USB interface, Palm OS and wide range of accessories.

The Visor Edge is awesome. You've really got to handle one to realize just how thin it is. The only down side is that, when using a module, you double its size. Then again, how often do you use a module? If the answer is never, who cares?

The Edge has a nice, high-contrast screen, rechargeable battery, and strong flip-cover (which adds no depth). The Edge has a classy touch and feel with its silver finish. If you're looking for a sleek PDA you can carry in your pocket - I highly recommend the Handspring Visor Edge.

Summary: Great PDA
Review: I researched a long time for the perfect PDA. I went to stores to look at all the possible ones to see what is best for my needs. They are all basically the same. What sold me on the Edge was that it was slim and it was stylish.

Ever since I bought this, I am able to stick to schedule and it reminds me of important dates or when my library books are due. This is no different in operation from any other Visor and PalmOS based handheld.

My only complaint is the part that connects to the stylus fell off, although, the stylus still manages to stay on. It could probably use a better design.

For more power, more storage, and a color screen, you might consider the Clie. I chose the Edge because it was cheaper and I wanted something bare to maximize battery life.

My Edge has also kept me occupied during long plane trips and waits because of the many games available to PalmOS.

Summary: US cost is way too high
Review: Can buy in Tokyo, of all places for less than [money]. If you can still find one. The guarantee is good for 90 days. Got a problem afterwards, the customer support center will request you to call them--[money].
Mine has had several problems in the 9 months since I bought it. Now, it will not recharge without a hard reset. No need to call support for [money], or 1/4 of the street price. When brand new, it once dropped all of my data without me ever being able to get it back Support had no explaination.
This was my first PDA. It is made of cheap looking flimsy aluminum. It looked so fragile that I bought a leather case to prevent damage thus ruining any size advantage it has. It is too small to be of real practical use with word processing or spread sheet soft wear. If you can use graffitti well, go for it. I never met anyone who could in person.

If I had to do it over again, I'd get a cheap Palm Pilot, just for the scheduling abilities. Then again, I believe I'd stick with my old paper scheduler. Never lost any data, don't have to recharge, not fragile, and won't cost [money] for info on how to repair if I do have a problem. The Visor is a nice toy, but too unreliable for seroious business use.

Summary: The best no-nonsense organiser
Review: ... I would stick w Palm device and first looked at color Sony Clie615. It's nice, but then I realised that the higher resolution screen and color did not mean so much since the PalmOS and its built-in applications do not really make use of them. ... Instead, the fonts look flimsy and fragile with the higher resolution.

Hence, I decided that the extra money for a color Palm is not worth spending and color Palm PDA is not the way to go.

Looking at the monochrome PDA, the choice is either m500 or Edge. The clear winner is Edge. m500's style and look is so common, old and tiring. Edge is sleeker and more eye-catching, and not-so-common. Although the Edge unit itself is 1mm thicker than m500, it is actually thinner than m500 when you take into consideration the protective cover, as its alumunium cover barely adds thickness compared to m500's leatherette cover. The Edge and its cover is also more rugged and not flimsy.

Edge also has more features in the built-in apps such as CityTime, Datebook+ (which has more desirable views to see appt and to do list), FastLookup feature in Address book, and so on. These added features are really useful (I used them a lot in my old Visor) and show how Handspring can be very innovative in creating a value-add.

All these reasons, plus the fact that the local dealer is having a big price promotion, really makes an easy decision for me to buy the Edge.

So, if you want a simple, powerful, no-nonsense , yet sleek PDA, this is the great choice.

Btw, restoring all my data to the new Edge is really a breeze.

Summary: Gotta love it!
Review: I recently got myself one of these little hummers and let me tell you, I can't remember how I lived with out it! It's slim, it's handy and it helps me keep track of things I used to track in a cumbersome notebook daytimer sort of thing. I read that it originally sold for around $400 when it came out last year....
