Summary: Great hardware, frustrating OS
Review: My HP Jornada is absolutely great hardware. The color display is very crisp. All my problems come from the Microsoft ActiveSync and Microsoft Outlook software. It took weeks to figure out why it would not synchronize with Outlook. The solution was very complicated, even for an experienced programmer, because the help troubleshooter did not contain the answer. Finally, the MS knowledge base gave me the very technical solution, which involved removing and reinstalling the USB device. When my pocket PC works right, it is great, and there is plenty of great software available. One warning: do not add third party software icons to the start menu manually. It takes extreme measures to remove them. Finally, a personal opinion, I prefer to avoid using Outlook, and this is a big disadvantage of the pocket PC OS for me.

Summary: Waste of money !
Review: I bought a HP handheld PC last year for 250.00 from BestBuy.
It's screen gradually lost it's function and even though I tried to use the reset botton or the " align screen " multiple times but it's not working at all.
I called the company and because it's obvious that the hardware is weak and unreliable , they told me it's 13 month after you bought this device and your only option is to pay 145.00 dollars.
This is to get another similar weak product. I think it's really hurting the customer when the touch-screen is not having the essential performance for a standard PDA and the authorities let this weak product be released to the stores.
Thank You

Summary: What An Improvement!
Review: I bought the last generation Jornada (540 series) early in production, only to have all the subsequent reviews consistently rate the Casio higher- mostly because the Jornada had a smaller screen and was much harder to read outdoors.

The 568 has an equally bright screen ( this time I compared), has a much faster processor and is sleeker and more eligant than the others using the new Windows OS.

The platform is much more stable, syncs faster than the old model and is just generally more dependable.

I download E-Books, listen to mp3 music, and have my photographs in the Image Make. The Jornada has never let me down. I can now rely now on Pocket Streets, because the OS has the HP to run it without stalling, like the old Jornada.

In that HP has elected to abandon marketing the Jornada line since the merger, there are some great deals out there now....

Summary: A sincere opinion.
Review: These is the kind of pocket pc you can trust your information, my first buy was a compac, which give me many headaches because it keep loosing my information constantly, so I decide to change it for a HP Jornada 548, it was a big change, I hadn't lost my info a single time although the battery was completely drained out. Then I decide to buy a HP Jornada 565 the one whit 32 megas plus 8 megas in a compartment called hp safe store, which don't tell you in the specifications but its very useful. I choose the 565 instead of the 568 because I prefer to buy a 128 megas card, so I can have 168 megas for less The next asset is the screen 16 bits = great images plus you it can be seen whit direct sun light. And the processor is a speed demon.

The only thing that I don't like is than the plastic in both sides its painted whit a very week finish, and now whit 2 months of use it looks scratchy and washed out, which doesn't happen whit its predecessor the 548.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: The Jornada 568 is my first PDA. I've been skeptical of what I've regarded as overpriced pocket schedulers and have held off purchasing one of my own until now. I must say, I'm deeply impressed with the excellence of this product. It does nearly everything I routinely use a laptop to do, and it fits in the palm of my hand. With the optional foldup keyboard, it's a serious tool I'll have no trouble taking on the road. I can even do serious word processing with it... amazing. Seemingly the only thing I cannot do with this device is develop Powerpoint presentations. No problem there. I'll use my laptop on the rare occasions where I need that ability.

The fit and finish are excellent. The menus are quite intuitive. The speaker is rather poor but really, it's not that big a deal. For the price, which is high, Hp might have included a good set or headphones. I have no other complaints. This device does it all. Because this is my first PDA, I cannot compare it to the competing models, but I think I'm going to be very happy with this one if over time, it proves reliable. We shall see.

Summary: Upgrade was a downgrade
Review: I had a 548 and upgraded to the 568. Overall I liked the device but the issue with the screen filling with dust negates everything else. I had to replace it once but the new one is slowly accumulating a dust layer under the screen and that's with it kept in a zippered case whenever it's not in use. I would have replaced it again but it means reinstalling all software and ebooks and everything else I've added. I didn't even check the competition before buying this because I was so happy with my 548, I won't be replacing this one with an HP product. Very dissapointed.

Summary: Great PDA and service -- so sad it's going away
Review: I love my Jornada 568! HP did just about everything right when designing the 560 series. I especially appreciate the flip-top, which protects your screen from scratches from car keys, pens, and other sharp objects in your pocket or purse. And HP's customer service was, for me, wonderful. (I don't hear many compliments for Compac's customer support crew. Read some the comments for the iPaq.)

Unfortunately, with the HP-Compac merger, the powers running the show decided to discontinue the HP line of PDAs after this year. What a loss.

My two minor gripes with the 568: compact flash slot doesn't support Type II (but you can easily remedy that by buying the CF Pocket 560 expansion sleeve), and I had the screen dust problem with my original 568 (production problem where dust gets behind the screen; annoying with dark backgrounds when the dust "lights up" like tiny stars on the screen). HP sent me a replacement 568, no questions asked. No problems with the newer unit.

Bottom line: If you're looking to buy a Pocket PC 2002 PDA, buy the Jornada 568 -- while you still can!

Summary: HP Jornada 568
Review: I started out with a Palm 505 and was happy until I saw the 568 and suddenly I knew that the Palm was pure JUNK no doubt about it,I love this and would never consider a Palm powered PDA again.
If you are looking for the first time don't make the mistake I did do not waste your money on a Palm get this little beauty you will not be sorry and have a Palm Door Stop like I do.

Summary: Hey - this one works
Review: I have had my Jornada since it was a brand new model.
Simply put, it does everything as promised. All software works
flawlessly. Screen, size, everything is as expected. No surprises - which is a surprise. If you want to do Spreadsheets, Word, or Outlook in a PDA, this is the way to go.
