Summary: IMPORTANT ONE MAJOR DRAWBACK!!
Review: If you plan on buying new computers in the future, do not buy this mp3 player. Although the player is good, you must use a 25pin parallel port to download from your pc. Audiovox tech support offers no alternative! I just bough a VAIO, and, like a mpdern computer company, SONY eschews old fashioned parallel ports for USB inputs. I suppose I could buy a $40 adapter to keep my unit from becoming obsolete. BUT WHY SHOULD I? Audiovox basically told me I was screwed on this one. Thanks for the support. F' em. I'm gonna hock my MP1000 and buy a decently designed MP3 player with current electronic technology.

Summary: Serious Deficiencies in the MP1000 by Audiovox
Review: Like an Apple computer, the Audiovox MP1000 MP3 Player is very cute. Unfortunately, that's about it. Sound quality is very good, packaging is sharp, and the parallel cable is sufficient (we wish for USB). But if you want to record more than 8 - 12 songs, forget it. Audivox offers a 32MB MMC upgrade, but since March it has been delayed a month at a time. For some reason, no other MMCs work in the MP1000. Not Viking or SanDisk, or any other according to Audiovox...Audiovox promises a new model that is supposed to be compatible with all MMCs. If you hate being trapped in old technology, don't buy this item until you are sure that either 32MB (max.) is sufficient, or you are assured that you have the "upgraded" model. One Star Rating for Zero compatability. (Technical Support guys at Audiovox are very slow to get answers from. They have offered to replace my MP-1000 with one that works with MMC cards. They have promised that since March, and still "don't have the units available".)

Summary: No longer supported by Audiovox NO XP Support
Review: The MP-1000 has become useless since there is not currently and will never be support for Windows XP or 2000. Audiovox "understands your frustration . . ." but will no longer be providing support for their MP3 products and will not be providing any further software updates.

Summary: Great Player!!!!!! For a good price
Review: The MpDj is an awesome player. The Screen is backlit and easy to read. The quality of the songs is awesome!!! The one problem is the space which can be solved by a memory card. Awesome! Go buy "The Sicness" by Disturbed. Its an awesome CD!!!

Summary: MP3
Review: The player is light, small, and has a backlit lcd screen. It has a pouch that keeps it from scratches. The headphones are ok. it's not that good but for the price, it's worth it. It is slow on downloading. It uses parallel port and i hooked it up pretty quick and easily.

Summary: Not Disappointed
Review: The Unit is good looking, has a solid feel, uses actual aluminum in the case. The buttons work great, a super nice display that is backlit also. I've had it for a couple of weeks. The sound is great, plenty of volume. I wish it was USB, but the parallel port is relatively fast for onboard memory, but downloading to the multimedia chip is a lot slower. (It only seems to know about 32 MB MMC cards, but I'm using a 16 MB card, and have to do the calculations myself to see if what I'm downloading will fit.) Printer Port must be set to ECP. The software is okay. It was easy to setup and start using almost immediately. The documentation is first rate. Like everyone, I wish you could store hours and hours, but for what it is, it's excellent.

Summary: great player
Review: this is a very good mp3 player, but after having it for a while you will want more memory, and better earphones.... reasons for this is because the earphones break after a while and you dont get enough songs on with 32 mbs
