Summary: Great, but wait a little longer and it get's better...
Review: The NOMAD II is a great MP3 player. Packed with featuresgalore, this MP3 player has an upgradable platform to support more than just MP3s for future use. In another words, you most likely will not need to buy a new MP3 player for the next couple years. But as great as a product that this is, I still think you should wait until the Creative JUKEBOX comes out, which would be the MP3 player of MP3 Players. It features a laptop 6.4 GB 2.5 inch hard drive that can take over 75 G's of shock, all in a rather convienient CD-player like package. Although when released it will come out with a hefty [price tag], think about how much money that will save you in the long run considering [the cost of]a 64MB Smart media card from SansDisk. If you add the cost of the MP3 player and a couple of smartmedia cards you have spent well over $600. The battery life will be shorter on the JUKEBOX, though, you say. Yes it will be, but not by that much, considering laptop hard drives operate at a need to use basis... in another words they don't spin constantly, only when you need to access a song. It loads it up into memory and then shuts off pretty much. For me, that's not a problem because this thing is probably going to be sitting in my car most of the time. Yes, 6.4GB is a lot of space, but considering I go to college with a T3 connection and 100Base-T LAN, downloading MP3s are a sinch and also take up a good 20GB on my drives! Not to mention some other features about this device, such as support to play other file extensions like, MP3, WMA, WAV, and so on, and EAX Surround Sound, blah blah blah... so much stuff. But again I say.. the NOMAD II is a great product, but you should wait...

Summary: It really rocks
Review: This is the best MP3 player that ships, I guess. It has a cool design, very sexy headphones... Try it with it's newest firmware that supports WMA. Over 2 hours Cd-quality audio. 64kbps WMA(Microsoft Audio) really beats 128kbps MP3 and its size is nearly half of an mp3.

Summary: WARNING
Review: This Product Stinks, When I got my Nomad 2 the USB connector was broken, When I called the customer support, they refused to send me a new one and instead told me to go to my local Dealer and buy one, So I had to search around my City looking for a dealer that would be willing to give me a new USB cable in exchange for the broken one I was sent with my product. When ifinally found a dealer that had the cable, which was 10 miles from my home, they refused to exchange one for me, and told me that i would have to buy a new one. In the end I ended up paying 10 dollars for an extra cable. Of course I was quite annoyed that a company would do this, I opted to sell my Nomad 2 on ebay, and with the money I get, buy a Rio 500, I heard it was alot "user friendly". And AMazon has the lowest price for the RIO 500, So do yourself a favor, and not buy the Nomad 2, but instead go for the Rio 500. End.

Summary: Awesome
Review: It is a very good MP3 player, one of the best on the market at the time. It can hold about one hour of mp3 formated music, or about two hours of WMA formated muisc. it has the remote that come with which I think comes in handy. The USB connector works very well. The leather pouch could be a little better quality. I have not, but plan to buy the docking station. The only thing I had trouble with is pre-setting the radio stations, and I still have not been able to do it. If you want an MP3 player buy this one.

Summary: Best MP3 player on the market
Review: I have owned the Diamon Rio 64 and a friend that owns a Sony's MP3 player. By far, the Nomad II blows them both away. I have never had a product that I have had ZERO complaints about. I love the download time via the USB and the ease of use. The online programmer is on of the best available. Using the NOMAD II manager to set all 32 preset FM stations is another plus. And the remote function on the head-phone cable puts this product above the rest.

Creative took all the other MP3 players options and made them 10 times better.

Summary: Some sloppy engineering
Review: Great set of features. I really wanted the radio stations and recorder. But I found the reception for the radio to be poor, and I live in a major city. I also found the design of the battery holder and cap to be a royal pain. I have to fight to get it open, and the battery and memory insert very poorly designed. You need to remove the memory to remove the battery.

I love the wireless control.

Overall, enormous advancement from the MP3 players of a year ago, but engineering-wise, they needed to spend a little more time in beta testing.

Summary: Excellent player great features
Review: To whoever gave the Nomad II a bad review I ask, "Are you crazy?" At first I was worried that the sound quality of the Nomad II would be bad but after listening to a few songs I was amazed at the clarity and quality of the music. The battery runs for a very long time. The player is lightweight and easy to carry. The wired remote is very handy for when you are carrying the player in your pocket. The headphones are top quality with excellent sound. The FM radio works well in most places and presetting stations with the Nomad Manager is simple. The voice recorder is very handy for school or business. The only thing that I dislike about the Nomad II is that it only has one Smartmedia slot for the 64mb card it comes with, but all of its features outweigh this small problem. I would recommend this player to anyone.

Summary: Good value
Review: The MP3 player generally works as advertised. Strong points: Great sound, easy and quick downloads, good cd manager software. Weak points: FM radio is ok, but nothing spectacular. Volume could go louder. Could have random play or a play list to make it better. The instructions for "ripping" CD's could be better. A "quick start" guide on how to rip from CD's this would be helpful.

Review: Life is so much better ever since I got my Nomad II here in Japan...I[paid a lot for] it in Misawa Air Force Base, but the results compensate for any cash. The only drawback, surfing is about the only place I can't take this awesome player. This is a must!
