Summary: Very Nice Video Card
Review: This video card is nice for the price. But it only comes with software that doesn't allow you to change the refresh rate anything over 85mhz at 800x600 resolution. i'm currently looking for software for it. but this card is very nice. it has plenty of power for almost any game as long as u have enough ram on your computer and plenty of mhz. it comes with a fan on the main chip. the fan provides plently of cooling power. i've played Freespace2 which requires alot of power, Unreal Tournament, which is optimized for 3dfx, and Quake 3 arena and the card handled it with no dropes in frames. but it has 32mb of ram on it, compared to the voodoo 3 3000, which has 16mb. the voodoo 4 4500 AGP, the fan on it helps out alot. i've benched marked it, and the benchmark ran a few videos in very nice dvd quality, and it handled it without frame drop at 1024x768, it ran nicely at 40fps, the temperate in my computer stayed at 120f which is pretty good considering my computer only has one fan on the powersupply and one on my AMD 350 K6-2, which is a total of only 2 fans, and the voodoo 4 4500 AGP, made it 3 fans, and it nicely fit in my agp slot which is 1.0 and 2.0 complaint. I had no problems installing it. I say unless you play games like unreal tournament, and quake 3, u don't need the voodoo 4, the voodoo 3 3000 has plently of power and is alot cheeper too. the voodoo 4 4500 only has one flaw, and that it doesn't come with software to change the refrash rate, and to change anything else, u could only make it up to 85 and on the box it says it could go up to 160mhz, but its not true with out the software. I say unless u can find the software don't go to the voodoo 4 4500 because you can't take full advantage of the card without the software, but it has excelent power and excelent graphic support, it has enough power for almost any game,

Review: Though I didn't buy the card from Amazon, I did see reviews while shopping Amazon. They were helpful, but I want to put in a good word to shift things closer to 5 as I think this product deserves it. Perhaps it's because I checked the specs of my Mainboard PA2013 before I got the right board for it, but the AGP version has allowed other PCI slots to be available for things like a future TV /VideoIn/Out board. The board also has solved every problem that I was having with my ATI Rage Pro. Installation was very easy. After installing the proper driver provided in the box, it took off. Games from No One Lives Forever, ea Sport's Triple Play 2000,Homeworld, Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance, etc all run perfectly now, and the color and definition are wonderful and quite satisfactory for the price making this good for most boards especially those a step below the fastest ones out there. It has an on board fan unlike the Voodoo 3 3000 and supports 32bit, 1X, 2X, 4X slots. It does the job!

Summary: From the 3dfx site. I give them an A for Effort.
Review: To our valued customers:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you've given 3dfx over the years. Through all our ups and downs, we've always been proud of our extremely loyal customers and fans. That's what makes our recent actions so difficult.

Although we've done our best to avoid taking drastic action, we have finally been forced to admit that there is no possible way we can continue in our current state. As such, we have negotiated an agreement with nVidia that will allow us to provide the best possible result to our creditors, investors, employees and customers.

Under this agreement, nVidia will acquire certain, specific assets from 3dfx including technology, company and product brands and other assets. In addition, the 3dfx board of directors has recommended to our shareholders the dissolution of the company over the next few months. Until that time, however, 3dfx products will remain available at various retail and online locations, and we will continue to support our current and future customers. For additional information, please see the press releases that were issued by 3dfx on December 15, 2000.

While we firmly believe this agreement is in the best interest of all involved, we deeply regret these actions. Again, we want to extend our sincerest thanks to every one of you who helped 3dfx revolutionize 3D graphics and 3D gaming on the PC.

Sincerely, Scott Sellers 3dfx Founder and CTO

Summary: BEST CARD FOR TIGHT BUDGET
Review: Voodoo 4 contains singel VSA-100 graphic processor. VSA-100 is the graphic processor that used in Voodoo 5 5500. The difference is Voodoo 5 5500 contain 2 VSA-100 graphic processor. Voodoo 4 is the best card for those of you who can't afford high-end graphic card but demands a very good graphic and fast frame rate. And it's cheap, only $130.
