Summary: Great Cd player, with 1 problem
Review: I would give this product 4 1/2 stars if possible. It has everything I want in a portable Cd player: radio, shuffle play, shows time remaining on track. However, it seems to use up your batteries in an instant. I put in the latest energizer batteries one day and about 2 1/2 days later the power is gone. I only use it when going to school and waiting at the bank with my mom. Besides that however, It is an excellent product.

Summary: that's one smart twelve year old...
Review: I'm with the person above me -- that sounded more like manufacturer literature than a real person (let alone a 12 year old). Thought I'd share. :)

Summary: Very Impressed
Review: My girlfriend and I both bought a "joggable" cd player that we could use while running. She bought the AIWA and I got a Panasonic (my third). It turns out that my Panasonic skipped when I used the belt clip and it only played when I held it in my hand. I gave the Aiwa a try and I was very impressed. Using a CD player sports pouch, I never experienced any skipping. Even while holding it the grip is very sturdy, the Panasonic felt like it could slip from my hand. I really like the control buttons, the rubber feel, size, and placement is perfect. They are easy to find when I reach into the pouch to adjust volume or change stations/music.
I returned the panasonic to Best Buy (they have a great replacement plan) and bought the AIWA. At first the style of headphones was a bit awkward and I considered replacing with a more familiar type. I'm glad that I did't though because once I compared sound quality I was hooked. These headphones are perfectly matched for this player, I get the impression that some thinking actually went into the quality of headphones that should be included.
There are many other features that are included and are explained in other reviews here. I wish I had read these reviews prior to making any purchase.

Summary: First Class
Review: Not only is this a great CD player with good bass options, but the radio tuner is also top of the line. It isn't difficult to figure out, and it plays any type of CD. The lock button was the only thing that took me a minute to find, but it is on the bottom left of the player. Other than that, I am MORE than satisfied with this player.

Don't let that one review ruin it for you, she just got a dud. I doubt that will happen if you buy it. Once again, it is worth every penny.

Summary: Broke after 6 months as well....
Review: There is definately something wrong with this item if more than one person is complaining about how it broke in 6 months. Out of nowhere it just stopped playing. I suggest buying a better brande like Panasonic.... the shockwave is a great investment. Don't waste your time or money on this cd player. Unless u want to burn a hole in your pocket.

Summary: what the heck
Review: this is a pretty cool cd player! What i want to know is, the 12 year old reviewer above me, did he actually write that or did Aiwa write that? i mean do you think a 12 year old actually would spell everything right and include that it needs "two alkaline batteries" i mean really no twelve year old would say anything about the word alkaline. he would just say batteries. My opionion for you is dont believe everything you read on some products, because companies hire people to write reviews on places that have them. Something for you to think

Summary: Absolutely the BEST portable CD player for the money!
Review: This is my second portable CD player. My first was a Sony, but it ate batteries and skipped like crazy. I've had the AIWA for about four months and use it almost daily. I use it primarily while jogging and on a rowing machine. I thought there would be some skipping, but there hasn't been any. I use rechargeable batteries and I'm surprised at how long it holds a charge. I especially like the "indicator" that tells you when you need to replace or recharge your batteries. If you're using rechargeable batteries, AIWA supplies an adapter so that you can recharge the batteries through the CD player. I can't think of anything that I don't like about the AIWA. It has and does everything that I need and want in a portable CD player. So far, it's been the best electronic item that I've purchased in the past 12 months.

Summary: Satisfied customer
Review: This is the first portable CD player I have bought, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I am very satisfied with this unit. One thing I like about it the most is the battery charging capability. Just buy a couple of rechargable AA batteries and plug the AC adapter into it and it will recharge the batteries for you. This saves the hastle of taking the batteries out, putting them in a recharger and them putting them back in. The only complaint I have is that everytime you turn the unit off, the extra bass I like is reset and I have to put it back the way I like everytime I turn it on. It would be nice if it saved this setting. Another thing I would like to see come with this is a belt clip so that you don't have to carry it by hand. Other than these two things, it works great.

Summary: If it's GREAT for me it's gotta be PERFECT for u
Review: Though I'm only 14, I know a lot about electronics (u'd think so after living with 3 electronic/computer geniuses [my dad, grandad, and brother] my whole life). This CD player has all the major features I was looking for: AM/FM radio, CD-R/RW capability, bass boost (gotta have that), and like the guy above me said: TERRIFIC headphones, and all for a great price! I was looking for a Sony Walkman with these features, but those stupid things are expensive AND ONLY COME WITH "ONE OR THE OTHER" OF THE FEATURES!!! This is great EVERYTHING I NEED for a GREAT price, all in one product!
