Summary: This is funny if not taken seriously
Review: I really enjoyed this movie. It had very funny parts in it. When I first saw this at age 15, I was a little freaked out about some parts. The entire movies teaches you that it is ok to laugh at dumb jokes. If you try to take this movie seriously, it just ruins the fact that they are trying to have fun with it. Just get a group of friends together and enjoy. The inside jokes that you will gather are great memories.
Elbow Skin!!!!(watch the movie)

Summary: A Hidden Gem
Review: I really enjoyed this superbly-written movie, though I reluctantly group it in the teen movie genre with others like "American Pie." Although the teen flick feel endears this movie to many, I think it has a deeper power behind it that places it above the other movies in its genre. I think it cleverly explores male-female relationships and roles in modern society with wit and witticism. The main character, Matt, discovers his own thoughts and feelings on the gender gap through his experiences as a maintenance man for an all-female dorm, coupled with his nightmarish semester in a Women's Studies class led by an uber-feminist. The realizations he comes to make a lot of sense and thankfully the movie calls out both chauvinists and feminists, dissects both sides, and finally finds a healthy compromise between the two using for examples the real-life experiences we have all had. The movie really gets to the meat-and-potatoes issues that men and women alike face on a daily basis. I think that this movie succeeded in doing what "What Women Want" tried to do (though I liked that movie also) because instead of giving the main male character a superpower-like gift, it places Matt in a real-life (albeit extremely fortunate) circumstance, which allow him the opportunity to intimately explore the opposite sex, as well as discover a lot about his own sex and sexuality. I think that if nothing else, this movie invites us to explore our own feelings towards the sexes in a lighthearted manner. I highly recommend this movie to singles and couples alike.

Summary: Insightful, hilarious
Review: I saw this movie while doing a gender-issues project in school. Needless to say, I loved it! The movie looks into both genders and really analyzes them, but the movie finds a light way to do this. I adore the main character (Jonathon Tucker, I think); he brings a very human aspect to the screen, and I found myself hoping against hope that he would find his "soul mate." I reccomend this movie for anyone, male or female!

Summary: Lots of laughs, lots of truth
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It has that feel of another cheap teen movie, but in the process of telling the story of one boy's search for his true love, it comes across many truths about the state of relationships between men and women. The key is knowing what's meant to be profound and what's meant to be hilarious.

As a male, I must admit that it's hard to ignore all of the eye candy. This movie features many very attractive ladies. However, the movie capitalizes on the beauty of its cast by showing how beauty, or the idea of what is beautiful, has an unexpected impact on the different sexes.

Beyond that, I laughed throughout the movie. Matt's growth while searching for his lover presented many opportunities to engage in humorous antics with the ladies of the "Virgin Vault." My two favorite scenes are the foosball games with Katherine Heigl's character Arlene and the pillow fight with Larissa Oleynik's Wendy, namely when her mom walks in.

As a hopeless romantic, I of course loved the idea of searching for lost true love and the movie didn't disappoint. I certainly did not expect the elevator girl to turn out to be... I've seen my fair share of romantic comedies and this was a definite surprise.

Lastly, I must applaud the writing. In particular, I think I'm going to steal Matt's "Promise Speech." Funny, touching, and sensitive, it just seems like something a hopeless romantic ought to spew to his love.

All in all, this is a great movie that I highly recommend. However, it only works as a great film if you understand what to take seriously and what to laugh at.

Summary: Not A Typical Teen-Fest
Review: I was bored and had nothing to watch and just happened to chance on this movie. I'm glad I did. I know it looks like a typical teen movie but I think this went quite a lot deeper then stuff like American Pie. Don't get me wrong. I thought American Pie was funny but only to a point. I paticurly liked that the male character didn't just fall straight in love but took a long time to realize his feelings: just like real life. I think Emmanuelle Chirqui (I know I've spelt that wrong) did a lot of justice to the role. I haven't seen On the Line but I bet that she was good in that as well.

Summary: Better than most teen flicks, but not Shakespeare
Review: If not for the pseudo-wit that the main character constantly shoots off through dialogue and voice-over narration, this would be just another Skinimax late-night farce. Instead, you may be pleasantly surprised by the quirky and, more often than not, humourous way in which gender differences are addressed in Tucker's persuit of his perfect woman. Try to see through the smug, anecdotal "counter-arguments" that our hero has to offer (and try to ignore the fact that they sway schizophrenically between misogynistic and chivalristic), and you'll probably find this to be one of the more entertaining teen flicks you ever wasted your money on. The cream of the crap.

Summary: Well, I suppose it depends on what kind of movie you like
Review: If you enjoy toilet humour and sexism, then this is the perfect movie for you. Whoever you are, prepare to be annoyed by some annoying attempts to justify the sexism with junior high philosophy.

Summary: A must see miss
Review: In a country where souless sequels and formulaic romances dominate the box office, this movie slips through the cracks with the potential to be something different. Through Matthew's narrative, this movie explores not only the collegiate male psyche, but also takes a different and very humorous view of the teen-love genre. Whether using witty aliteration or thought provoking analogies, Matthew provides a character with enough geeky cuteness to be both seen as a movie character, and as a peer. Its nice to see a leading man who's average. This movie makes average look so appealing. Definately a movie worth watching.

Summary: Great Teen Flick
Review: It was a great movie, it was funny in an immature teen sort of way, but we all need a little bit of that kind of humor in our lives to keep us young, right?

Summary: Tries too hard
Review: It's ironic, but "100 Girls," about a guy trying to hook up (again) with the perfect girl falls flat because, like so many guys, it just tries too hard.

The premise is cute enough, and certainly no less plausible than most teen sex movies: After a romantic and erotic experience in an elevator during a blackout, a college student spends the rest of the year trying to track down that girl to reunite with her, somewhere in the 100 person all girls dormitory. Wacky hijinks ensue as the protagonist tries to figure out who the girl could be.

So far, so good. But the earnestness of the movie gets in the way. The protagonist himself is perhaps the most emasculated wimp ever recorded on videotape, prone to irritating (and wildly naive) speeches about male/female relationships that sound like the screenwriter didn't have anyone editing him -- or giving him a reality check.

He's contrasted with an over-the-top boorish roommate, who's supposed to be some sort of hyper-masculine stereotype, but who mostly comes off as someone in need of serious therapy. His opinions come off as someone trying to recreate the beliefs of someone like radio personality Tom Leykis without actually having listened to someone like that, much less having extracted the points with actual relevance. Instead, he just reinforces the Alpha Wimp's saccharine platitudes. The fact that neither of them turns in a particularly good acting performance further hinders matters.

The female characters (and actresses) almost salvage the film, and not just token "big name" Jamie Pressly. They gamely put forth a real effort to make a leaden script work, and pretend the wildly implausible situations aren't. But ultimately, they fail to elevate this above two stars (if they turned in a comparable job to the male leads, it would have been a single star film).

A renter at best, and only if you've thoroughly exhausted every other teen movie possibility.
