Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Most helpful photography book
Review: After reading many photography book, it is no doubt that this one is the best. Other photography books bog you down with a plethora of info to memorize. Not this book. John Shaw explains concepts clear and concise. The book is easy to read and understand. I have also come across many hints and tips never mentioned in other photography books. Read this book and improve your picture taking!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: John Shaw's Landscape Photography is a Must Have
Review: As many admirers of Shaw's work will attest, his books are not only a visual treat, but they are also packed with practical advice and are inspirational for us lesser mortals. Landscape Photography is another fine example of Shaw's approach to a photographic genre and of course, it contains a lot of great hands-on information. Too many landscape photo books focus purely on aesthetics, with little practical information for the amateur photographer. As always, Shaw delivers the how-to and the why in this book. Buy it!

Summary: THIS BOOK IS TOTAL INSPIRATION TO ANY PHOTOGRAPHER!!
Review: GREAT BOOK!! MR. SHAW COVERS EVERYTHING FROM COMPOSITION TO EXPOSURE,FILM, TRIPODS ETC. I HAD BEEN AWAY FROM PHOTOGRAPHY FOR A FEW YEARS UNTIL i DISCOVERED THIS WONDERFUL BOOK!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Many useful concepts, very well written
Review: Highly recommended to anyone getting involved in landscape photography. Shaw covers not only the technical issues, but the artistic one's as well. I found this to be very helpful in gaining an understanding of what differentiates technically competent photos, from great photos.

Shaw has a very approachable writing style as well. About the only things missing are shutter speed readings and aperture information from his sample photos. Also, the content could be a little more in-depth, given the wide range of topics.

Summary: Wonderful......uncomplicated
Review: I have a couple of John's books, and as far as I'm concerned everything he does is a "must read" for photographers. His knowledge is obvious but not intimidating....he's so easy to understand. There's no questioning how he became one of the best.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Probably the best of his books
Review: I have studied the photos several times over a three year period. Just reading his comments on his photogrpahs is very beneficial to improving my technique. The text is great and the book really inspires one to try harder to get good nature photogrpahs. A few photos where he says he opened up a stop I would not do so perhaps a few errors but it is best to bracket good scenes as film is cheaper than transportation. A wonderful book.
