Summary: Generation Disappointment
Review: As an avid collector of fetish books, I was quite disappointed with this addition to my collection. First off, the book is much smaller in dimensions than one might expect from this type of publication. I was expecting something more along the size of a 'Beauty Parade' or 'The Beauty of Fetish'; something coffee table size. Unfortunately, this book is more the size of your average college Latin book (it's not even 6 by 8 inches!).Beyond the size of the book, I was further disappointed by the content. In my opinion, the quality of the photography was rather poor (probably on the grounds of being "artsy"). Additionally, this may be the first time in history that a photographer has taken reasonably sexy women and managed to present them in a style that makes them look like starving 15 year old boys from England. Now if starving 15 year old boys from England are your bag, then by all means you'll want to rush to out and order this book. However, if you are anything like I am, then you appreciate more the sexual and sensual side of fetish and women (i.e. seeing voluptuous, sexy women wearing leather and being restrained), then this may not be the book for you. Don't let me to dissuade you from ordering this book. At the same time, I feel much better images can be found in the likes of Tony Ward's book "Obsessions" or the titles mentioned above (both of which are excellent).

Review: Do yourself a favor and buy this book At first glance the book appear to be a fun prurient ride through the fetish scene. Each photograph is beautiful, erotic and vibrant. I have spent countless hours looking at this amazing collection and each viewing brings me closer and closer to the heart of this incredible book. What I see reflecting back from these photographs is the heart and soul of an amazing artist and a complex man. The photographs of Lee Higgs have broken my heart.

Review: Front to Back Full Color Photos w/ introduction written in English, German, Italian and Spanish. Posed photos as well as seemingly scene photos. Fetish at all angles. This is a great book and it even fits nicely into a breifcase for those mid-day fixes (Just don't pull it out infront of co-workers).

Summary: One of the BEST BOOKS of 2001 !!!
Review: Generation Fetish is nothing less than a masterpiece of stimulating, artsy, fetish photography. What's most striking is not just the imagery itself, scantily-clad, beautiful girls are always striking, but the extraordinary way that Higgs incorporates color and composition. The entire book is a psychedelic carnival of sexual and fetish imagery showcasing lush and dramatic scenes, rich saturated colors, weird angles and twists, and a collection of women who are undeniably arousing make this book a dreamworld that even Gumby would get off on ... if he could get inside. It's a breathtaking new vision, albeit one that not everyone will immediately understand, so don't be surprised to hear critics saying they didn't "get it". Don't be swayed though, the art world would be well served if it had more creatives like Lee Higgs pumping out exciting and original works like this. Generation Fetish is a superb publication and a great intro to Lee Higgs' work. And after working your way through its 368 pages you'll very likely be craving for more.

Summary: Overwhelmed
Review: I don't know where to begin. This book is amazing!!! The photographic composition, the mood, the sexy females, the look of the film, the lighting. I can't get over the distoroted angles of view into the sensual fetish world captured by Higgs. These models are something else. I flipped through the pages very slowly and tryed to cram all the imagery into my twisted mind for later fascination and came to realize that I wasn't even half way through the book yet and I couldn't take it anymore.

Review: I have been a fan of Lee Higgs' work for a long time, and I have to say that I have been blown away by this book. His pictures are as beautiful as they are sexy, and they capture feelings, thoughts and ideas that are often hard to put into words.

Review: I met this man on BME (a body modification community website) and loved what pictures he had up. I got a link from his site and wanted to die when I found out he had a book published. I had thought that his art was wonderful! Lastnight I finally found a bookstore AROUND my area where I could buy Generation Fetish. It was the best spent [money] I've ever dealt with. His angles and colors are what spun me around but he also has a great eye for what is arousing. I was only wishing there was more and that the photos were larger. (Although they aren't a bad size anyway) Great book!

The photos are sexy, erotic, artistic, disturbing, challenging, playful, mysterious and beautiful. This is the first really interesting book of photography that I have seen in quite a while. And one of the only books that presents lesbian sexuality with a female perspective. I would recommend this to anyone interested in photography, to straight men and women, and to gay and bi women.
