Rating: Summary: What's Digging? Review: I think this is a great novel by Louis Sachar. Probably one of his best. It had plenty of adventure and mystery.I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is so fascinating! It skips back in time about 100 years every chapter so you have to pay close attention. At the end you will have to fill in the holes. Remember the last name Zeroni. By: David
Rating: Summary: Buy this book Review: I think this is a very interesting and unsual book. I loved the way the author reveals the story behind the story. While I was reading, I could picture this book becoming a movie.
Rating: Summary: Five Stars Wide Five Stars Deep! Review: I think this is one of the best books I have read. It is for readers who like excitement, mystery, and history. Stanley Yelnats, aka Caveman, is the main character in this book. He is accused for something he didn't do. He gets sent to Camp Green Lake, a dried out lake where bad boys went to dig holes 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide every single day for, well, a really long time. One day Hector Zeronie(Zero), Stanley's best friend, ran away out into the hot and dry desert. Will Stanley go after his friend or leave him standed in the desert with no water or shade? If you read the book you can see what happens to Zero.
Rating: Summary: holes Review: I think this was a very good book because it shows like everything a book should have like problems, solutions, and actions. My favorite character was Stanley because he was like the bravest one in the story and was helping zero.
Rating: Summary: This was a very good book and all ages will love it. Review: I think this was a very good book how Stanley Yelnats had bad luck from his great great pig stealing grndfather. just because he stole a pig. And how Zero's great great grandmother was maddam Zeroni. I think this was a very good book. And thanks for signing my book Louis Sachar in Kent Ohio.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: I think what I like best is the unintended humor of the former disparaging review which said, "this book has a lot of holes in it." Yes this book does! All the holes you could ever want. About the book? Great descriptive writing and characterizations. Well-done writing "from child's perspective." Engaging plot -- stretches the bounds of probable reality a bit, but does a good job of tying together ALL the plot threads by the end, even those involving the "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great-great-grandfather" !! Perfect for upper elementary level. Newbery Medal.
Rating: Summary: Holes Review: I think you should read Holes. It is brilliant. My favorite part is at the beginning. The middle was cool too. It was about a boy named Stanley. He had a choice either to go to jail or to go to Camp Green Lake. He chose Camp Green Lake because he never been to camp before. He was overweight and he already knew that. He already made friends at Camp. They had to dig holes about five feet long and five feet wide. I like the part were Zero digs half of Stanley's hole while Stanley teaches Zero how to read. I'm still reading that book. So far it is fantastic! I think you should read it.
