Rating: Summary: Hole lot of great writing Review: You must have the basic plot by now from the write-ups and the other reviews. I just wanted to add my two cents in praise of this wonderfully crafted piece of literature. While simply written ("understated" is a huge overstatement) there is a requirement to read carefully. Each and every bit of story is carefully crafted and lovingly placed in just the right spot. There is not a word or a sentence that does not add to the book. Miss a paragraph and you miss a lot. Miss this novel and there will be a hole in your collection of great books.

Rating: Summary: A Hard, realistic tale with a magical twist Review: Young Stanley, a boy caught at the wrong place at the wrong time. Just blame it on his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather. Stanley was caught in an act in which he didn't commit, which brings him to a 'camp' called Camp Green Lake. Don't let the name confuse you, its anything but green. Explore Stanley's journey of repenance from generations past, and a new friend that will eventually help Stanley's poor family in the end. A great book, that every adolescent should have the chance to read. Louis Sachar uses her unique style to yet write another awards winning book.
Rating: Summary: I Love Zero Review: Zero is a really smart guy in Camp Green Lake. But evey one thinks his stupid and dumb.Untill one day Zero went up to Stanley and said ''can you teach me to read''so he did. Untill one day Zero ran away from Camp Green Lake. Untill Stanley went to look for him in the desert. The worst part is when Zero got his hands hurt with the shovel. One thing I learned from the story is the yellow spotted lizards, and the second was you don't bother them they won't bother you. I would recommend this book to a friend...

Rating: Summary: Francisco's Review Review: ~HOLES I read a book about a kid named Stanley Yelnats. One day he was walking from school some shoes hit him on the head so then he picked up the shoes and started running home to give it to his father for his new shoe recycling invention. On his way running home with the shoes the police took him to jail for stealing because the shoes were going to be auctioned off for a lot of money so they can have enough money to build a new homeless shelter for the poor. Once he went to jail the next~~ day he went to court and the jury said if he would want to go to jail or to camp green lake. Stanley thought if he went to camp green lake it was all fun and games so he decided to go to camp green lake. On his way to camp green lake he thought he would see a camp, green grass, and one big lake with some other kids in it but the only thing he saw was lots of sand and lots of holes. Once he got out the truck he met someone named officer pendenski and another person named Mr. Sir. Mr.~~ Pendenski told Stanley everything he needed to know like looking out for a yellow spotted lizard or else you would go to this one shadow and die there. If I could give this book a rating 1 out of 10 I would give it a 9 because I like books about teenagers going to jail and learn what they need to know like stealing and doing all those other bad things. The thing I like most about this book is the only thing you have to do is dig holes all day.~
Rating: Summary: erWiNz boOk rEvIeW Review: ~The book I read was called ~{!0~}Holes~{!1~} by Louis Sachar. This book is about a boy name Stanley Yelnats. He was blamed for stealing a sneaker from the homeless shelter. He had a choice of going to jail or go to Camp Green Lake. He decided to go to Camp Green Lake, when he arrived to Camp Green Lake he didn~{!/~}t see no lake, all he seen was just holes and more holes. Stanley was put in group D with some other bad kids. In Camp~~ Green~~ Lake, they have to dig holes all day and if they find~~ something interesting then they get the rest of the day off. The names of the kids in his groups are Zero, x-ray, armpit, and some other kids. When Stanley dug up this thing that had the initials ~{!0~}KB~{!1~}, but then he gave it to x-ray and x-ray gave it to the warden and x-ray got the rest of the day off. Zero ran away and hasn~{!/~}t returned for almost a week, so Stanley took the water truck and went out to look for him.~~ When~~ Stanley finally found him, zero was under this boat.~~ When they both returned to camp, they went back to the hole where Stanley dug up that thing and they found something else. They found this suitcase, after that the warden cam out with some other staffs of the camp. A yellow spotted lizard crawled on Stanley and zero but just in time a lawyer came and told them that Stanley was innocent, so Stanley was released from the camp and so was zero. I think the author~{!/~}s message is trying~~ to~~ make a point that if you find something that~{!/~}s~~ not yours, you should leave it alone or just return it to the right person, but If you don~{!/~}t there will be consequences. Also the author is trying to say that if you don~{!/~}t like the person with, you have to deal with it because that~{!/~}s how life is. From my opinion, I think this book is really great, because it teaches us a lesson of life and this book is really interesting. I like this book because its exciting and~~ it~{!/~}s a great book for everyone and yeah.~~~
