Summary: In Love With This book
Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I read it to my third grade class and they have never responded to a book in this way. My students were dry and thirsty, tired and broken as I read the book. This book came to our school book fair and all 19 of my children saved up money to buy thier own copy and that is amazing in itself!

Summary: Best Book I've read
Review: This is the best book I've read! It's filled with lots of holes to fill in while still making it interesting and action packed. Louis Sachar really hints you off with metaphorical stuff. An example would be that the book is named Holes; the main character, Stanley is sent to a juvenile correctional facility and made to dig holes, while he digs them you must go back and forth in time to fill them in.

The story is about a boy, Stanley, who's family is poor. He doesn't have many friends at school. He is "cursed by his great-great-grandfather." And he winds up at Camp Green Lake for supposedly stealing a pair of shoes. Stanley's character goes through a major change throughout the story. As you find out about things of the past you will learn more about people, Camp Green Lake, and how everything and everyone comes together.

Read it.

Summary: captivating, why did the story have to end!
Review: This is the best book we have read in a long time. Mr. Sachar does a wonderful job of using foreshadowing and name sybolism to help make the connections in this exciting book. Several of us have bought the book for our personal library. Will any book be as great as Holes? Thank you for an exciting adventure in reading.

Summary: Interesting
Review: This is the first book I've read by Louis Sachar, and I liked it a lot. I would recommend this book to a younger audience, perhaps middle schoolers. I loved the ending because it left me wondering what else happened. But you had to pay attention to the little details because things that happened earlier in the book had an impact on the outcome.

Summary: Louis sachar- Another Hit!
Review: This is the most outrageous bok, that makes you feel like you are really there! It is like you cant stop reading! This deserved the Newberry Honor so much, because I really don't read that much, but as I read this, i read 100 pages every day. It improved my reading skills, so now i can read a lot, every single night. Everyone has to read this book, it teaches you a great lesson!

Summary: Wonderfully detailed and relistic
Review: This is the right choice Stanley convinced himself. It had to be better than jail. Stanley had been convicted of stealing. He knew he was innocent but was somehow proven guilty. He was on his way to Camp Green Lake. Once Camp Green Lake was a lake, the largest lake in Texas in fact. But, now it was just a huge, dusty, hot, desert used as a disiplinary camp for the underaged trouble-makers of Texas. Louis Sachar was very detailed in explaining how horrible it was for the people at Camp Green Lake. It was realistic the way he made it, you felt like you were digging holes in 110 degree weather.
Each day the so called "campers" of Camp Green Lake were forced to dig a hole five feet deep and five feet wide. No one knew why either. But the warden is a little suspicous.
The story is strange but written in a cool way. It makes you believe everything he says.

Summary: NEEDS 100 STARS!
Review: This is the world's best book! I'm a huge fan of Wayside School and I did my book report on Holes. I got a 100 and everyone in my class wants it. Even the school librarian envies me!
