Rating: Summary: the best book ever Review: Holes is a great book about a boy that gets sent to a boy camp. the camp is called " Camp Green Lake ", it is a correction facility. Some of the charicters that have nicknames are, Armpit, Caveman, Zero, Magnet and some others. It is a non-fiction sci-fi type of book. It is still good though. The bad things about the camp is that stanlys great, great, great, grandfather was there and got robbed by a famous outlaw. The book does a lot of flashbacks to that time, and after a whilie it gets boring. It is a good book for young readers.

Rating: Summary: A Great Book for Boys Review: Holes is a great book for boys from 10 to 15 years old. The book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats, whose family as a long history of bad luck thanks to a curse place on his Great, Great Grandfather. Knowing this Stanley is not too surprised when he finds himself being blamed for a crime that he did not do and that he could not prove that he did not do. Because of this Stanley is sent to a boy's camp call Camp Green Lake. On the way to Camp Green Lake Stanley is looking forward to going to a camp and getting to go swimming in the lake. The only problem is that once he gets to Camp Green Lake there is no lake. The only things there are a few building and a lot of holes. Stanley soon learns that the boys punishment for being sent to Camp Green Lake is that they have to dig holes that are five feet deep and five feet across where the lake used to be over a hundred years ago. According to the lady warden this type of punishment helps the boys build character. But Stanley is not to sure about that or if the boys that he meet at the camp needs to build anymore character. In Holes you will see some unlike friendship develop (Stanley and Zero), a families bad luck turn to good luck and if you don't like onions this book just might change your mind about that especially if you also don't like lizards!!! Holes really is a wonderful book for boys who like adventures.
Rating: Summary: Welcome to Holes by, Whyshould Icare?? Review: Holes is a great book for kids who love adventure, suspense and fun. Holes, which is written by Louis Sachar, has a lot of twists and turns in the story. I thought that it was very interesting how Sachar kept using the number 3 in the story...our class counted the number of times 3 was in the book(we counted about 60-80 times). When you read this story, see how many times you can find the number 3!!! Also Sachar had many connections between characters I thought would never be. Also try to see these connections. I hope you enjoy going on this adventure with Stanley, Zero and all of his friends while reading this book. ENJOY!!
