Rating: Summary: Why Living History? Review: What we need Hillary to write, is a "tell-all" book about her investing secrets. Then we will all be able to live the good life, like she does without having to steal from those better off. Maybe we will even be able to join the same country club as her and Bill.
Rating: Summary: Why is this novel in the Nonfiction category? Review: Can not decide if I was reading a novel or what ever is known of the woman is as deceiving as she is. Never made it to the end - stopped at 1/3 of the book.
Rating: Summary: Worth the Hype Review: She's smart and strong, qualities guaranteed to make her hated by men who are afraid of her and women who are insecure. Better and more honest read than the other First Lady books. Someone said "oh yes, well she's laughing at us all the way to the bank." I would rather Bill and Hillary be laughing than the CEO's, Halliburton, Buchtel, Global Crossing, etc, etc., etc. who are laughing all the way to the bank and their money was stolen from us. Hope Hillary remembers the line "who cares what they say about me, just as long as they spell my name right." Very few people could have gone through what she went through and still hold their head as high as Hillary. Good job.
Rating: Summary: I Wish I Could Rate The Reviewers Review: This book was expected to draw controversy. But what amazes me are the number on one-line reviews here on Amazon.com, clearly from people who have NEVER even read this book. They go something like this: "the book is full of lies, and Clinton is just trying to run for President." Hmmmm. The book simply presents Hillary's side of the story, and despite the millions of dollars WE paide to investigate her, she was never charged with a crime. Do not convict Hillary or the book without giving it a fair read. You are simply losing your own credibility and coming across as immature.
Rating: Summary: an interesting read about an interesting person Review: As someone who actually read Sen. Clinton's book cover to cover, I can say that it is a very interesting account from the perspective of someone who has lived a unique life. Here is someone who has devoted her life to making her country better, not turning it backwards to some pseudo-utopian era that never existed in the first place. Yes, seeing a strong woman may be threatening to some, but that is their problem, not hers. Reading this book and the accounts of how difficult it was to even try to pass common sense legislation (health care, gun control) made me really sad for our country and its future if this is how our so called "leaders" are running things.Hillary Clinton is one of the most important women of her generation, and her story deserves to be told and heard. While some of the parts about policy and legislation might seem dry, they are all about important issues with significant implications for our country, and anyone who wants to criticize her should at least criticize her on her positions, not their personal impression of someone they've never even met. And to those of you who felt the obligatory need to post your comments without even reading the book, think about how you would have reacted to someone aggressively digging through your past every day for eight years. I highly doubt you could have mustered as much self-will and grace as Sen. Clinton.
Rating: Summary: An intimate look at the life of a strong admirable American Review: I can see the "Clinton Haters" have been here to post their opinions. Anyone with a mind will ignore their insane ranting and check out this book for themselves. You will not be disapointed.
Rating: Summary: ZORE stars Review: Pure unadulterated garbage because it is a spin on the truth!
Rating: Summary: Give Me A Break! Review: These are book reviews? More the passing of faint fumes from people who still cannot digest that the Clintons may be more popular, powerful, and brilliant than their own current offering in the White House. This site has been used to suggest everything from her not having written this work, to falling public appeal, to even disturbing and highly inappropriate criticism of her daughter. When their current main White House squeeze can show that he actually writes his own speeches, hasn't read notes when making 'extemporaneous' comments to the press, or is willing to compare a direct one on one of his college grades to those of Bill or Hillary, can stand his own daughters up for blemish free public scrutiny, that he himself has never broken any law, or, for that matter, never done anything illegal - then they may have a comment worth reading. Until then, let people write here who actually have literary ability. Having started the book, I've found it to be intelligent, reflective. A woman who is a significant person of her times. Someone who is inspiring an increasing number of young women world-wide, and deserves to be taken seriously. The format is no different than most offerings by historical figures. And should have had, as any intelligent writer would agree, those around her editing and offering comments on her writing as it developed. A writing that is very personal, and due to many intimate subjects, could not have been written by anyone other than, Hillary.
Rating: Summary: GIVE ME A BREAK! Review: There are SO many good books worth your time, why spend it on this tripe? Was this written on our nickel (New Yorkers, is that why we did not see much of Mrs. Clinton as Senator for so long?) I heard her speak on NPR just after the book came out and she sounded so smart, worth listening to, and relevant...and then this. Poor move, I think. Your choice.
Rating: Summary: Can we try open mindedness? Review: Love Hillary or hate her, you cannot ignore her. The immediate criticism of Living History is not objective, but rather more mud slinging. I'm amazed at the people who decide who is lying and who is not, especially when they base their "facts" on recent media-written history. This is a smart tough lady who is being put down for being intelligent and "uppity". To those of you who can read, try reading the book with an open mind. And, if you are so smart, how come YOU aren't rich?
