Summary: A slice of history with pictures....
Review: The rove-rush-religious reich robots David Brock warned us
about are out in full force here. Scarborough, the ex-Fla
rep who stepped down after being implicated in his assistant's
death and since employed by MSNBC seeking to out-faux Faux
nitwerks where Rupert reigns to obtain DirectTV at 6 vice
30 billion since FCC cleared the way for him by stopping other
buyers, and other cronies still Blinded by the Right who ganged
up on Eric Alterman author of What Liberal Media? are ganging
up on commission in the usual Coulter-Crayola manner to put
down this book because their fear is masked as acute/cute hate.

I pre-ordered three from B&N to send them a message that they
need not pander to neo-cons whose time is already passed, but
I bought two more from Amazon.com because despite the onslaught
herewith, the public may just be ready to read this excellent
tome given the truth being told about our invasion of Iraq
and why Enron explains why 9-11 was allowed. Buy this book
just to annoy the cadre of those paid in the usual manner
to dump on it ostensibly from everywhere..;>
Time for me to buy more copies here..;>

Summary: Really Good Book
Review: I think it's sad that so many people have that much envy that they have no choice but to "Hate" the Clintons. The book is a very good historical account. If you are looking for something that you would find in the Inquirer, then should no doubt read something else. Other than that it is a great book for thoughtful and educated people that are wanting to know more about Hillary Clinton as a person.

Summary: just a dull read
Review: this compilation (which hillary didn't write!) is a decent encyclopedia of information you already know regarding bill clinton and the starr report.

everything new worth knowing from the book has already been divulged in hillary's book interviews. this is all style over substance; if you must own this thing, at least wait for the paperback to come out.

Summary: An outside perspective
Review: It is an expected shame that the ratings listed here are so divided along partisan lines. I have not read Senator Clinton's book, but wanted a glance of the reader response to its publication before deciding for myself. How sad that the American public has its mind made up before it even begins, but I guess that says so much about our carefully-wrought democracy. Shame on us all.

Summary: Not worth a single star or penny
Review: Being a professional writer, it is my opinion that this book is not worth a single penny. Its 560 pages are filled with tripe, insults, out-right lies, and delusional fiction. Furthermore, it contradicts not only various news accounts, but Sid Blumenthal's book on many points. (By the way, Bill Clinton has publicly come-out and indorsed Blumenthal's book as being the truth!) All-in-all, this is nothing more than Hillary Clinton trying to appeal to women as a victim for her presidential run in 2008. Bottom Line: It is total garbage!

Summary: A Fascinating Read about a Fascinating Woman
Review: What I took from Living History was that Hillary Clinton is a normal, though extraordinary person. That may seem like a contradiction, but you see in this book how she is both brilliant -- her analysis of issues and situations large and small displays a keen intelligence -- yet human. Througout the book, the voice comes through of a person who loves her family and friends, who is proud of her daughter, and feels her faith tremndously. I found it a fascinating read and highly recommend it.

Forget the hype -- and read Hillary's story in her own words.

Summary: A Woman OF Intelligence and Courage
Review: After Reading this Book, I have a Whole New Respect for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton!First off, I BELIEVE EVERY WORD HILLARY SAYS! There is no reason for her to lie! She has told her side and she comes across as a Thoughtful, Intelligent and Courageoous Woman! This woman has seen the dark side of human nature(Republicans) and in the face of adversity, she becomes stronger and rises to the top! I found the book gave Great Insight into the political world and the motivations of various people! Hillary is a GODDESS and for people who do not like her, YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS!

Summary: I Wouldn't Say 'History', Per Se
Review: I read this with an admitted skepticism. Any autbiography, but especially a political one, is going to be self serving. This is specially true when the author is rather blatantly usng the book to further his/her own career. I accept that as a given, and can forgive it.

What puzzles me is the tone Ms. Clinton decided to go for. Painting herself as a victim of her husband's infidelity strikes me as out of character from what I know of her personality, and i assume insulting to her supporters, who viw her as a strong woman, not a put upon wife. Have Hillary and Bill been in the same room together in three years? One wonders. That's the Hillary Clinton I am familiar with.

And that Hilary Clinton shows up quite a bit. From her leftist policy views (a Presidential platform?) to some brutal attacks on Guiliani and Lazio, that's the Hillary Clinton I expect to see. Still, this is how I expected the whole book to be, I was disappointed to read of a weepy betrayal that I really think she
couldn't care less about.

If youare willing to overlook this duality, or are a big fan of Hillary Clinton, you'll like this book. I can't overlook it, am not a fan of HRC, and didn't like it. Three stars for the craftmanship of the ghostwriter.

Summary: What a bunch of GARBAGE...
Review: The part of the book that really just makes me want to set it on fire is; "When I found out about [Monica Lewinsky] I was furious at Bill".

RIIIGHT.

Furious that he got CAUGHT, perhaps, but there were *too many* women that Bill has become notorious for catting around with for Hillary not to know. It wouldn't surprise me if she had picked Monica out for him.

I wouldn't mind if she would be honest and say that she used Bill as a means to an end to get herself into politics. At least then I might have shred of respect for her. But that would require honesty and integrity. Something the Clintons are NOT known for.

There are better books out there with far better writing as well. Might I recommend "Goodnight Moon", for example, if you insist reading on second-grade level writing...

Regardless either buy this one used (I'm sure it'll be available in 2nd hand bookstores soon) or just save your money and your brain cells. It is true, a mind IS a terrible thing to waste. Don't waste it on this GARBAGE.

Summary: Good For You Hillary
Review: Well, I'm a teen boy, just entering Florida State next year, and, I have got to say, this time in our is history will be remembered as just a bunch of foolishness. This country is full of folks just fussing at eachother because of differences in opinion. We have politicians and citizens judging one another not by the content of their character, but by the political parties to which they abide. They use blindness instead of reason when forming their views. How is it that I, a mere 18 years old, can tell that they are for the most part a handfull of children doing nothing but fuss and attack one another instead of doing what is right. There are wonderful people out there, conservative and liberal, black and white, rich and poor. Hillary is a wonderful person. I am an independant who relies solely on reason in forming my views, and I have yet to know of any lie Hillary has told, or even any ignominious action she has ever made. The Clinton Family should not have had to have experienced the politics of personal destruction. They are people too. No telling how many other politicians are committing the exact same "crime" as Clinton, yet, nobody mentions them at all. Bill and Hillary are both brilliant people and leaders. Their personal lives are not the American Peoples' business as they have done better for the people than for themselves, and have lead the country far better than any couple to meet the white house in years.

Anyway, I'm getting away from the actual review. The book is written beautifully. I found it especially interesting that she grew up a conservative republican. Also, she was on a committee which formed guidelines of impeaching the president (Nixon). Who would have thought that her decisions may have come back to haunt her husband? Isn't that interesting?! Anyway, I recommend this book for everyone, conservatives and liberals. It is a fabulous account of history... far better than textbooks too folks! Way to go Hillary!
