Summary: Fascinating book!
Review: A good first book on self hypnosis. The hypnosis in this book is a very light hypnosis and your goals that you seek will take time to take effect. For a small percentage (1 in 20) it may take effect immediatly but for the rest of us it will take some time. The hypnosis with eyes open in this book, happens to all of us every day, while driving our cars, watching TV, daydreaming etc. If you are looking for fast and lasting effects then I would record the scripts that are included in the book (good selection) and listen to it before going to bed. You will have a much better lasting effect than just reading it to yourself as the book tells you to.

Summary: LOVE IT!!!
Review: I am very interested in self-healing(reiki,ayurveda,hypnosis,etc). This is a great book for obtaining your goals. You basically have a professional hypnotherapy session at home, only you are the hypnotherapist!!!
Remember all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. There are scripts to help you Stop stressing out, end procrastination, become confident, and more! This a great technique, especially if you usually fall asleep while listening to hypno cd's(which usually take 30 days). 7-12 times is recommended for this technique, like a real in person hypno-session. Plus many find their own voice to be more acceptable and powerful than anyone else's. Your subconscious mind will follow what you say, so even if you have a busy mind-like me-you will still benefit greatly from the sessions. I've done stop stressing out, and I feel more calm and relaxed. You can even make your own scripts. C'mon give it a try...Change your mind, change your life. Hehe. Namaste'

Summary: Different than the other books about self-hypnosis
Review: I have a psychology background and know a bit about hypnosis. And this idea made me say, "Now why didn't I think of that?!" Great, simple concept. Wonderful scripts on smoking cessation and making more money. There's also this great bonus at the end that teaches you how to hypnotize someone else instantly. I've been using it with my girlfriend...we're having a great time with it. The script on better sex really has had a noticable effect. This is very different from the other boring books on self-hypnosis. And you can't fall asleep while you apply it!

Summary: I'm Impressed
Review: I have been searching and searching for something that would help with my weight problem - I'm 67 - almost 68 - and have dieted myself to over 300 lbs. Everytime I started another diet program, my subconscious said, been there, done that, don't think so. And I got ravenously hungry - eating a half gallon of ice cream was a fairly frequent occasion for me. I was always hungry - could eat a huge meal and be hungry again a couple hours later. Mexican food was comfort food for me. I have done hypnotherapy and every diet you can name practically. But nothing handled the problem.

After running across this book yesterday, I decided to start using it this morning, I did both the weight loss and the eating good food scripts - and so far am not hungry at all - I had a small breakfast and it took me quite a while to get through a banana for a snack. I feel more focused and once this eating problem is under total control, there are several more problems I plan to address using the scripts in the book.

I am absolutely amazed so far. I think I am finally getting a handle on my life and I am doing it without spending a fortune. Thank you, Forbes.

I have NO CRAVINGS for sweets or "bad foods" I can go grocery shopping or out to eat and never crave food that's bad for me. I'm not hungry until it's time to eat a meal...which I eat slowly and thoroughly enjoy. I no longer eat just to eat, or when I'm bored. I have tried everything there is to lose and this is the first time I feel that I am in control!
The book is also very helpful to anyone who needs a little help with life's problems...I will use this book until it falls apart! Buy this book....you won't regret it!

Summary: I WAS a skeptic.
Review: I highly recommend the book for those who want to know how and why people choose hypnosis to change their lives or an undersirable behavior.

Simply put, it worked for me after a little practice and a little rereading - had I initially followed the directions to a "T," it probably would have helped me to become more efficient sooner. In otherwords, when it says to find a "quiet place where you can be completely alone..." you really have to do so. That meant I had to put my cat out of the room and close the door in order to eliminate all distractions and keep my mind from wondering.

In my opinion, the best thing about the book was the various templates. They help you organize your thoughts on paper and systmatically achieve your goal.

I was impressed. Highly reccommend the book.

Summary: Fascinating book!
Review: I never thought studying hypnosis could be so easy and so fun! That's what I love about this book---it's extremely lay-person-friendly (no unexplained jargon) and it's easy to sense the author's enthusiasm for his discovery. This makes his writing so much more capable of helping the reader to achieve a state of hypnosis. It's really easy to be hypnotized and best of all, you're your own hypnotist! I was especially impressed with Mr. Blair's nightclub analogy to explain how the subconscious operates and why the other coaching techniques, Dr. Phil approaches, etc. have a lower success rate than good hypnosis can. I was hypnotized just reading all the background info in the first couple of chapters. I have trouble with stress-management and I feel so much more relaxed now. My anxiety-level has been curbed greatly after only a couple of self-sessions. Blair also teaches you how to write yourself into hypnosis and how to customize your scripts to meet your own personal goals; so, you trully do become your own hypnotherapist! He shows you how simple it is to turn this into a way to give the therapy to others. It's SO simple. Do NOT be intimidated if you know nothing about hypnosis. You will practically be an expert on the subject when you've finished reading the book. Be sure to put this one at the head of your arsenal of self-help books!

Summary: An easy way to quit smoking?
Review: I sure hope so! I've been trying for years and this is just crazy enough that I think it might work! I tried a few of the exercises and I could definitely feel myself slipping into hypnosis...
