Rating: Summary: START IMPROVING YOU LIFE TODAY! ! ! ! ! ! Review: I'm 37 years old, and have been biting my fingernails for 32 years. My parents tried everything: sending me to school with gloves, taping my finger tips, covering my fingernails with some awfull tasting substances. I myself gave up on this habit about 10 years ago.
Last week I started reading the hypnotic scripts about how to stop fingernail biting, and guess what, it's been 1 week since I last chewed my fingernails. As soon as my hand touches my lips, I automatically lower it and then become aware of the situation, but don't feel any anxiety.
There are over 30 scripts on the book for different situations, plus you can make your own scripts. Everyone on this planet can benefit from these techniques. You can easily and rapidly improve any aspect of your life with these techniques. I invite you to buy the book, try one of the scripts and then pass it on. IT WORKS!!!
Rating: Summary: 35 Useful Scripts for Self-Hypnosis Review: This book is essentially a script book for self-hypnosis. At the beginning of the book is a general induction you can use to induce yourself into a trance state, followed by a selection of 35 scripts for dealing with common issues and helping you to improve your life. You'll find scipts for weight-loss, confidence, motivation, public speaking, lucid dreaming, better sex life and many others.
The book is marketed as using hypnosis while you're awake. This may seem to make it different from other hypnosis books, unless you understand that you are using hypnosis every time you use your imagination and get absorbed by your inner experience - and for that matter any time you read any book that transports you into another world, the world described in that book and you become oblivious to your environment to a certain degree, you are in hypnosis - much like you are in hypnosis when you are absorbed in the action of the movie you are watching on TV. The only difference is that with TV you get to watch the images, and while reading the book, you create them in your mind, according to your interpretation of the words.
You can use the scripts in this book either by reading them, but you can also record them on a tape and just relax and listen to them. You should use whatever method helps you to engage your imagination better and create a more vivid subjective experience.
This book was created for non-hypnotists - however even a professional hypnotist, particularly those who are new to hypnosis, may use this book as an additional resource - just as they would use any other script (patter) book.
Near the end of the book is a section on hypnotizing yourself while you write. This has brought to my mind another book "The Einstein Factor" and the method called "image streaming" which you may also experiment with; as well as mind-mapping, which is particularly useful for drawing the information out of your subconscious mind.
The next section, Suggestion Template, guides you through a process which will help you to create successful suggestions that will be customized to your personality, preferences and your specific outcome.
The book contains few additional sections with useful information on supercharging your affirmation and getting the best results out of your self-hypnosis session.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful New Method! Review: This book presents a new tehcnique for self-hypnosis. Most books on the subject are really old hat. I could feel this method working on the very first go and it only took a few minutes. I found that with just a couple of repetitions that I went deeper and deeper into the hypnotic state, which is exactly what the author suggests. And the best part is NOT having to record the scripts onto a tape and play them back! That method never worked for me anyway, but this does. I think this book will work for just about anyone and I can't imagine a more user-friendly approach or method.
Rating: Summary: First book on hypnosis I bought... I'm glad! Review: This book truly catches the eye first off all. The cover explains it all. The idea of hynotizing yourself, by yourself, is mentioned in the title and information on what common problems people may have are mentioned in which hypnotism can help solve. Of course it is best if you are new to hypnotism, as I was, to read the first 40 pages or so before you jump right into the act of hypnotizing yourself. Though what you read is fasinating. Explaining the power of the mind and what a few discoveries the author made before writing this book. And the best part, obviously, is actually hypnotizing yourself. I only tried it once and already have it working for me. I recommend this book highly to anyone new who wants to hynoptize themselves, are interested in the subject, or just want to help solve their problems or reach a type of goal.
Rating: Summary: This is a great start... Review: This book was a very interesting, although not overly insightful book. The writer does know how hypnosis works as a technique and the book as a set of applications is very useful. The only real problem is that it is a little ego driven in the parts that aren't scripts.
What he talks about in the book is very true but may not work for the surface reader. If on the other hand the reader is a very vivid reader that can get lost easily in a book then this technique is definitely for them. If one were looking for a book that is less of a cook book this isn't what you are looking for.
If one were just getting started and wanted to learn more about the applications and what scripts are like this is one of many one should look at to advance their interest. It is definitely worth the price one pays.
Rating: Summary: Something that works...wow, that's rare! Review: This is a book for people--like me--who don't like self-help books. I saw this one in the bookstore, and I couldn't resist it, because it said I could hypnotize myself with my eyes open. I'm really turned off by the Dr. Phils and the shmarmy new age type stuff...which is mostly hype with little substance. This book didn't waste my time. I started to put it to the test in about an hour after starting to read it. I felt myself going under hypnosis in only about a minute of reading the hypnotic script in it. Amazing. I'm using it to help me stay on my diet...and it's working!
Rating: Summary: eyes wide open Review: To think all this time , I could have been programming myself for greater success and happiness simply by reading out loud to myself. This book is different from other books on self hypnosis in that it doesn't require much time or effort before you begin to apply it. I was amazed with the results that started to appear right away, and I'm thankful to the other reviews that encouraged me to add it to my self improvement toolbox. If this is a subject that interests you, you'll miss out by not getting this book.
Rating: Summary: This book is genius. Review: What a simple and powerful idea this book contains! The concept will make perfect sense if you know anything at all about hypnotherapy. I've used this book to overcome procrastination and it's worked extremely quickly. I hope there's a sequel.
