Summary: A Powerful, sharp, but uninspiring Book
Review: This book is powerful, but it has a lot of prejudice and racism. Mr. Spinelli writes very well, but in everyday talk, not necessarily correct grammar, and sometimes it is difficult to make out. "Maniac Magee" has an interesting and overpoweringly exciting story. This book has many coined words, exaggerations and theoretically impossible situations, even though it's realistic fiction. Author Jerry Spinelli is a phenomenal writer for this story. I reccomend this book to ABSOLUTELY ANYONE. I started reading this book in first grade, but I put the book down. Now I am reading this novel in school, and now I LOVE IT!!! Of course, this book has a happy ending. I think you should definetly BUY THIS BOOK AND READ IT!!!

Summary: A great lesson on Racism and Prejudice
Review: Maniac Magee is a great learning tool in the middle grades. The novel keeps a lighter side within it, while at the same time teaching students the pressures of racism.

Summary: A great lesson on prejudice and racism for kids!
Review: Maniac Magee is splendidly written, while delivering an abrupt message to kids. The novel is able to capture the attention of pre-teens using everyday life as its tool. Maniac shares some of the same problems as our youth in America. He is caught up in a world of racism. Mr. Spinelli uses hyperbole to get a laugh or two out of his audience. The book is written in modern language and with the interest of students at heart. There needs to be a video available with this novel. This reading is one of the best teaching tools that I have seen

Summary: my review
Review: My name is Carmen and i'm the reviewer for the book,Maniac Magee.I think this book deserves one star, because it doesn't make sence. This book is talking about a boy who is running for no reason.I don't see why he didn't stay at home because he has to find places to sleep and it's cold at night.I cant compare this book to a movie because no one has ever made a movie like this or maybe iv'e

Summary: Uh...no...
Review: Right...well, I suppose you could say I didn't fully understand the point of this book. A little boy's parents die, he has to live with his feuding Aunt and Uncle and then he runs away one day. When he finds a place to live he runs away. The book is about a boy running for no reason....right...as I said I didn't fully understand the point.

Summary: Running Maniac
Review: This book is yet another example of the fanatical rantings of close minded neo-enviro-libertaria-cons. Maniac Mcgee represents the United States constant 'struggle' to overcome 'facism' in the 'UN'.

Please

None of the useless rantings of this book deserve any real attention.
