Rating: Summary: Excellent Read with real Facts Review: The ad hominem attacks of the illiterate and ill-mannered reviewers should tell you all you need to know to understand just how valuable this book really is. Larry Elder (get his book!) is fond of pointing out that "Facts are to liberals what kryptonite is to superman." Never was that more clear than in reading some of the reviews of this book! And while Sean's book is fact filled, I do think he tends to be too much the gentleman when addressing the vapid arguments of the left where personal invective substitutes for substantive coherent dispute. The "Salon" review was a total joke - a revisitation of previously exposed distortions and lies. Liberals apparently believe that the mere repetiton of the same nonsense renders it somehow less nonsensical. Frankly, Ann Coulter's take-no-prisoners-tell-it-like-it-is style is more to my liking, but if you prefer to accord the left the respect that they clearly do not feel it necessary to accord their intellectual adversaries, then there is much to learn from Sean's approach. Most importantly his factual documentation will provide you with the intellectual ammunition to more than hold your own the next time a bleeding heart starts whining in your ear about the need to take your hard earned money so they can fritter it away on yet another of their dizzy counter-productive failure-prone social programs. It's all because THEY simply know better than YOU how YOUR assets should be deployed to achieve THEIR "feel good" goals. And what makes you think that your opinion matters anyway? This despite the overwhelming evidence that their programs not only never achieve their touchy-feely goals, but typically produce the exact opposite results. For example, the indisputable fact is that minimum wage laws put the poor out of work. The left thinks that simply having the right "feeling" should suffice for policy making. "Won't it be wonderful to raise the wages of the poor?" What happens of course is that the wages for SOME of the poor are raised at the expense of many more left jobless. Check out Thomas Sowell's excellent THE VISION OF THE ANOINTED for a fuller description of the left's devastating arrogance. But don't forget Ann's and Larry's books either.
Rating: Summary: Intelligent, thought-provoking Review: I don't agree with all of Hannity's opinions, but he has proven to be very accurate in the information that leads to his opinions.
Rating: Summary: Liberal Ant-American agenda revealed! Review: Sean hammers home the fact that deep down, liberals hate the freedoms that America stands for. In his usual no-nonsense style, he hits the left with the two things they hate most: Facts & Statistics!
Rating: Summary: Read it and then be the judge Review: I can't believe some of the reviews I've read about this book. It is obvious to me that those one star ratings came from people campaigning against any anti-liberal truths that are out there. They don't want your to know the truth, therefore they discourage you from reading it. That's why I would encourage you to read this book to make your own decision. The other reviews listed attack the author on a personal level, and say nothing about the FACTS that this book presents. I am convinced (after actually reading the book), that the negative reviews came from those who did not actually pick up the book and read it cover to cover. So I again encourage you to do so.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Read, You will love it! Review: Sean Hannity has written a great book that is full of great facts and insight. Most don't know how the city of Galveston TX opted out of the Social Security system and how wonderful that has been for them but Sean covers that in the book. He also covers lots of other issues, all relevant to today and does it with great style. If you are the least bit conservative in your political views you will really enjoy this great read. I live in TN and Sean helped us keep the fight against a state income tax in the news. We defeated it for now, but without media exposure, the battle would have been lost. Awesome guy, Awesome book.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read! Review: Truly informational, educational, and inspirational! Let us please, PLEASE bury the shameful, embarrassing, and ignorant liberal movement once and for all!!
Rating: Summary: Non-Partisan Review of a Very Flawed Book Review: I am neither liberal nor conservative. I hold several political convictions that land on both sides of that silly fence. I am concerned with the truth as best we can get it. With that in mind, I must say that this book is obvious propaganda. The writing is horrible. No page is without some sort of grammatical or logical error. His "facts" are simply wrong. I would beg anyone who reads this book to do further research and find out for themselves just how much misinformation is in this book. This book gives conservatives a bad name. It lands neatly into all of the boxes liberals think conservatives fit into so nicely: stupid, dishonest, and self-serving. I hope some intelligent conservative is out there to write a good book to replace this one. Right now, the liberals are winning in this year's political non-fiction race. Michael Moore's book, Stupid White Men, and Gore Vidal's wonderful book about 9-11, Perpetual War For Perpetual Peace, simply glow in comparison to this book. (Though, as an aside, Michael Moore is almost as bad as Hannity when it comes to unresearched propaganda-spouting. It's just a different propaganda he's spouting.) It is also very sad that a spokesman for a huge number of Americans is so generally uneducated. Again, I can't get past the fact that every page has a fragmentary sentence or some opinion (as opposed to a researched position) that glares off the page at me. As a graduate student I have tutored freshmen who are failing English 101 whose prose style is more advanced than this. As a final note, it seems that Hannity is more interested in talking trash about liberals that he is in solving problems. This is so often the case in politics. It is rarely about the issues themselves. Few people want to solve the problems, they simply want book sales or power. This is true of extreme party-line leftists as well. ...
Rating: Summary: Same Old, Same Old Review: After reading this book twice I realized that it's just more of the same old conservative right wing mumbo jumbo and double talk. And they say liberals whine! Page after page after page of mindless moaning that grabs the wrong end of the stick and procees to beat around the bush with it. At least Rush makes me laugh (even though I don't agree with him). Recommended only for the ultra rich.
Rating: Summary: THE BOOK THAT NEEDED TO BE WRITTEN Review: Sean Hannity chops up the liberal machine and leaves it in shambles. Take any issue on the national agenda today and Hannity will spell-out the reasons, in convincing fashion, why the Liberal Left policies of the Democratic Party are bad for America. Sean Hannity, in my view, correctly portrays the Liberal Left as the true extremists in this country--extremists that hate America, hate the flag, hate the Pledge of Allegiance, hate God, and worst of all hate the freedom we all have. One more thing--the extreme, ant-war left wing of this country, if they were in complete control of this country, would be signing surrender papers on September 12, 2001, if they were left to their own ... devices. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! LET FREEDOM RING!!!! GOD SAVE THE SOULS OF HARVARD, MADISON, AND BERKELEY.
Rating: Summary: One in a series of well-deserved salvos against the Left! Review: An excellent summary on how the Left continues to lie to clueless people who don't bother to look for the facts. Don't miss two other great conservative books: Bias by Bernard Goldberg, and of course, Slander. Isn't it amazing and wonderful that these three books have made the New York Times Bestseller list? Attention conservative authors: Keep the truth coming!
