Summary: Amazing
Review: Inca Gold was a dramatic book. It begins when Shannon Kelsey and Mile Rogers get stuck in a sinkhole and Dirk Pitt plus Al Giordino must save them. Then Tupac Amuru kidnapps them. From mountain climbing to having to go in a river under a desert with a broken arm. Trying to get hold of the Inca treasure was amazing. Good Book!

Summary: May be OK for boys under 12, but...
Review: I have never been a fan of Cussler, but I have read several because a friend keeps forcing them on me and I'm too cheap to go out and buy a good book. This book was given to me in its unabridged audio version, and I now believe that you get a different perspective by listening, rather than reading, this man's books. It now seems obvious to me that he he leads (how shall I put this without upsetting the younger readers), an 'alternative lifestyle' that lets him see men from a position outside the norm. His descriptions of Pitt; piercing eyes, broad shoulders, animal grace, etc., etc. are all things that you might hear on Castro Street in San Francisco. He may want to start writing gourmet cookbooks, travelogue brochures, and/or style and wardrobe articles. He appears to know more about all of these things than he does about the relationships between men and women. I think from now on I will just tell my friend to give his books to someone else.

Summary: What an awful book
Review: First book by this man. Last book by this man. Doesn't anyonerealize that this man CANNOT write? The situations he puts Dirk Pottin are just plain silly. Do you remember the books from a few yearsage starring a character known as 'Doc Savage'? Similar ... of thatstyle. (Also, I can figure out how to convert metric to the USstandard as well as he can. I don't need to be hit over the head withit on each page).

Summary: Way too Lonnnnngggg
Review: Not the best Dirk Pitt adventure. Easily 150-200 pages too long. Too many characters, not enough character development, especially with the beautiful archaeologist.Stealing Inca treasure! ! A little too esoteric for me. The climactic ride through the underground river read to me like a fun amusement park ride. To those first time Dirk Pitt readers who thought this was the best. You are in for a treat, read them all. I've read five and this was by far the worst one. However, it was actioned packed and fun to read. Just wait until you read the others; Treasure was my favorite so far. Presently devouring Flood Tide.

Summary: Good, but not Pitt's greatest adventure...
Review: Let me first say that I am a die-hard Cussler fan. If his name is ON it, I'll BUY it, sight unseen, no problemo! I even wrote to Clive and he sent me a page of his hand-corrected manuscript for 'Inca Gold' which I treasure to this day, but let's be honest: this book, even though it's an amazing Pitt adventure, left me wanting a little more. I don't think I was ever able to put my finger on what exactly 'IT' was, but after reading a 2nd time, I felt the same way. I LOVED the beginning of 'Inca' and in particular Pitt's escape from the underground cavern, but there just seemed to be something missing. I'm sorry that I can't be more detailed than that. With that said, let me now tell you that even though something seemed to be missing, I STILL loved this story. I THINK my disappointment might have started back at the ending to 'Cyclops'. If you'll recall, at the end of that Pitt adventure, Dirk hints that one day he would search out the lost city of Gold in South America...well as you can now imagine, after seeing the title, 'Inca Gold' I felt that Clive had finally come around to Dirk going on that promised adventure. Of course this book isn't that at all. Either way a Dirk Pitt story is always jam-packed with supreme action on every page and a story that never once lag's or falls flat...'Inca Gold' is exactly that and more, a big, grand adventure told with gusto.

Summary: Excellent book
Review: This was the first Clive Cussler book I ever read and it got me addicted. I thought it was excellent. The main character, Dirk Pitt, is a cross between James pond, Indiana Jones, and Jacque Cousteau. The story was full of action from the beginning to the end. I think it would make an awesome movie.

Summary: Pretty good, but has flaws
Review: I had never read a Cussler novel before and I always wanted to so I tried out Inca Gold. I have to say for the most part the book was pretty good but the book definetly had some flaws. The overall plot and content was exciting and made me want to know what happened next but at the same time I could not get over how awkward the dialogue between the characters was in the book. I kept thinking to myself that this was not how people really talk to each other. Another flaw in the book was some of the action. Some action was just too far fetched to take seriously(mostly in the beginning). But as I said, the book's content and plot more than made up for some of the corny dialogue and far-fetched action. I will definetly try out some more of Cussler's novels.

Review: If I could give this book 1 billion stars I would! It is a wonderful adventure book! A real page turner, suspensful, and in some places romantic (but not overly for the guys). I could read this book again 100x! It only took mr like 2 weeks 2 read and I'm only 13 yrs old! GET THIS BOOK, YOU'LL SAVE $ IN THE LONG RUN CAUSE YOU'LL READ IT LIKE 50x!

Summary: Another solid Cussler effort
Review: For a writer like Cussler, it's easy to disparage him as a writer appealing to the masses with repeated plot devices. What's wrong with that? The essence of series writing is giving the fans a tried and true formula for enjoying the adventures of a beloved hero. Granted, one can't take down their entire Cussler collection and read each in a row. That tends to exaggerate the similarities. But for a quick fix every year or 2, Cussler provides great entertainment. Inca Gold is another Dirk Pitt treasure hunt which features an exciting race down an underground river in search of Incan treasure. All of the familiar characters are here along with a group of villains out to stymie our hero. If Clive Cussler wants to write another 50 books featuring Dirk Pitt and his quests-I'll be there.

Review: Inca Gold is a sequel to the Dirk Pitt Adventures. Dirk Pitt is a man of action. He works for an organization called the U.S. Underwater and Marine Agency or ( NUMA ). I rate this book as a 5 star book because it has a lot of action and suspense. It goes in sequential orer like most books, but it is very good in a way that you don't know wehat is going to happen next. I recommend this book to any kids who like action or suspense.
