Summary: good message
Review: who cares if it is true or not. there is a lot of wisdom in this book that i have been able to apply to my life regardless of if morgan actually experienced this or not. those caught up in the lack of fine literacy are totally side stepping the point of the book. be kind. respect the earth. i think anything that teaches these principles is worth its weight in gold.

Summary: Boycout this book.
Review: For those intrested in this book. Please read the document in "dumbartung.org.au/report1.html". Then if you still want to read the book, sell yourself out by all means to the money hungry, disrespectful modern-day exploitation people that she represents. "In Marlo Morgan's "experience" she never learnt an Aboriginal value respect. Respect for Aboriginal people, Elders, our spirituality. She just shows what most white people have always done - exploited Aboriginal people, culture and our life" - Marlene Chisholm

Summary: Like Quinn would see it, Morgan has done it
Review: Marlo Morgan has kept the identities of her follow travelers a mystery, as right she should, to protect the sacred way they treat the planet. Morgan has given us a gift much like Daniel Quinn did in ISHMAEL, to help us find our true path in a world we constantly and knowingly are destroying. A self help book for the new millenium.

Summary: A Book that brings out truth and beliefs
Review: This shows us what we've done to ourselves, and teaches us amazing truths and morals of life.

Summary: About as Spiritually nourishing as a twinkie.
Review: If you find inspriation in this poorly written piece of garbage, I suggest you try some of the true masters of the spiritual genre. Poets such as Kabir, Lao Tsu, Rumi, the Psalms, Rilke, etc. If your just looking to feel better about your life try Tony Robbins or some of the other feel good type gurus. I found this to be rather insulting and I'm not sure if it's the hippie new age shallowness or if it, or if it is the utter ignorance and condescending attitude she has towards the Aboriginal people. JJ Rousseau tried that whole noble savage thing about 200 years ago, this is a worn out idea and has proved to be nothing more than an idealization of a way of life that most people are totally ignorant of. This white trash Marlo hoosier woman is exploiting people's ignorance of both Australia and Aboriginal society. I applaud her marketing strategy with her statement that this is based on an actual account and is called fiction because she wants to protect the people she met. Yeah, right. I've blessed this book and have released it back into the library. If it were mine this would be one of the few books that I would actually throw in the garbage. uggh good riddance.

Summary: It is a fantastic book that should be read by all.
Review: This is a truly wonderful tale of a woman's journey through Australia. Some say the book is a bit slow and pointless, but one must look just a bit deeper into the meaning of the story. The adventures she encounters and the things she learns on her journey are lessons everyone should learn. If you haven't read this book i suggest you order it. Enjoy!

Summary: What a piece of garbage.
Review: This was one of the worst books I have ever read. If you want to get preached to by someone with horrible writing skills - this is the book for you. At one point the author talks about her body odor on her trip and states "I had become offensive." Offensive is an accurate way to describe this book. As for the writing style: If I saw one more exclamation point I thought I was going to scream. I can appreciate simplicity in writing but it does not have to come across as a "What I did on my summer vacation" account by a 4th grader. As for content: This book is so self serving and transparent that it is painful to continue to the very end. The author preaches to us about denouncing materialistic ways, protecting our environment, and many other "lessons" by blaming the ways of other cultures, or by making one of the Aboriginal characters in the book tell us how poorly we are doing. Either way it came off as phony and contrived. Do yourself a favor and pick a different book to read.

Summary: A Gift...
Review: I borrowed this book from the person I began to know after an interesting encounter which we believe was predestined long before. With this encounter I was prepared to believe whetever seems miraculous in the book. And I was deeply moved with the spiritual thinking of the Real People, that is so practical and based on simple facts, that makes them to live a peaceful and meaningful life. It is not important for me, if Marlo Morgan is the messanger or the message creator but the message itself is. It is a gift for mutants not because someone wants us to have it but because we need it.

Summary: Mutant Materialism
Review: Laughable "spiritual" message about a woman allowing herself to be kidnapped and enlightened against her will??? It is poorly written in so many ways: a preachy, didactic environmental theme, unplausible plot, and cardboard characters. It is hypocrisy incarnate that this book was written to make MONEY at the expense of those who have a non-materialistic focus. Boring fiction.

Summary: A beutiful story that reaches deep within us all
Review: A well constructed tale that took me on a ride with my own concience. One of the best books I have ever read. It help paved the road of my own life journey. A great road map.
