Summary: FANTASTIC
Review: This book is great because it's completely practical. There's no junk or filler. Even more the techniques work amazingly well.

The book is well researched and very useful in business as well as in personl situations.

I picked it up after seeing it on the NYT Business Bestseller list. Provacative title indeed. But it does deliver. Trust me, it's good stuff.

I read all of these kind of books and this is a cut above the rest. It also non-manipulative and much more psychologically-based. But very easy to follow and do.

Summary: Can be helpful to some people.
Review: This book of psychological secrets that explain how to read people, avoid being manipulated and get the upper hand in any situation, could be helpful for some people to read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very Helpful Insight
Review: This book presents very helpful basic persuasion techniques that can be very effective but really does not go into very much detail about any of them which is not a bad thing. Many people, including myself, are looking for a general persuasion primer, which this book definately is. I was able to pinpoint areas of persuasion psychology I wish to further study using this book. That is not to say that this book does not give enough information to effectively use the techniques explained--it does and I highly recommend this book, as well as all of Lieberman's books, to everyone.

Summary: Advanced methods for influencing people
Review: This book reminded me a lot of Dale Carnegie's famous "How to Win Friends and Influence People" except that this one went into a lot more detail, explaining how to perform the techniques suggested, and also offering some additional insights about behavior. Excellent! Well-recommended.

Summary: not as GOOD as its TITLE!
Review: This book started in a very interesting, reasonable path. But all through the way many weak points took place in his book!

1. "Get anyone to like you, love you or just think you're great"; was my best section. It was very acceptable, logical and easy to swallow.

2. His second section: "Never be fooled, tricked, manipulated, used, lied to, or taken advantage of again" was a mix between his other book "Never Be Lied to Again" and other testing methods. But still was acceptable.

3. His third section: "Take control of any situation and get anyone to do anything"; was in some parts rich as in "The Greatest secrets of leadership (age 89)" and in "How to get a stubborn person to change his mind about anything (page 72)" but in some others was manipulative for the weak characters as in "Get anyone to do a favor for you (page 81)". And it got very boring and difficult to go with as in "Get anyone to understand anything (page 94)" & "Minority rule" & "How to get any group of people to get along"!

4. Section four was about two subjects: "Secrets of winning in any competition" which I found to be extremely weak for readers to benefit from and of an extremely exaggerated title! But the other subject was about "The #1 mistake most people make in life" which was very beneficial and reasonable.

5. Section five contained 17 subjects, some were very useful and deeply rich as in "Get anyone to forgive you for anything (page 118)" but others were manipulative as in "Get anyone to return your phone call immediately (page 115)". Of course others were of no use!

But in summary, I am not saying that this book is useless or worthless... on the contrary some subjects are extremely useful and a must read! All what I am saying is that David Lieberman is in the habit of using bigger titles than the contents.

Summary: You will read this book from start to finish without ever pu
Review: This book will help you to understand how and why people do what they do. I found the chapter on how to get anyone to like you fantastic. It makes those awkward meetings so much more pleasurable and productive. What I liked best is that this isn't just common sense stuff you like find in other books. This book gives you techniques that you never would have figured out on your own. For instance in the chapter on getting anyone to love you, Lieberman talks about the relationship between arousal and adrenaline, and explains that when people are scared they tend to become attracted to people around them. The book is filled with insights on this kind of stuff. Very practical and useful.

Summary: Scripted How to Win Friends and Influence People
Review: This is a derivative work with script added, that builds on the psychological research of others. That approach can be beneficial, as long as you color between the lines.

Lieberman promises you the moon. "This book contains only specific psychological tactics governing human behavior that will let you outsmart, outthink, and out maneuver . . . anyone, any place, anytime." After reading the book, I beg to differ. No book, and not this one, can do that much.

If you are familiar with neuro-linguistic programming, Tony Robbins' work, and Robert Cialdini's work (Influence), you will find almost nothing new here.

As usual, I watched closely to see what Lieberman would have to say about manipulation. His strongest argument is that everyone wants to help everyone else, and you are just making it easier for them to help you. Hmmm! Are you persuaded? If you are, rate the book a little higher.

I thought several of the scripts were flawed, but many were quite good. The main problem related to being manipulative. But each of us has our own standards. If you are an unethical person looking to take advantage of someone, the methods in this book would often work all right for you.

Frankly, I prefer the more balanced approach of Stephen Covey and Robert Cialdini in addressing when and where psychological tools can and should be used.

The book is well done for what it is. If you don't share my concern about manipulation, be sure to read it. If you fear being manipulated, then be doubly sure to read it. Someone is bound to use these scripts on you at some time or other. Reading the book will be a good vaccine. Then you can resist what is truly not in your favor.

Summary: In Control
Review: This is a fantastic book for those who will use it for the right kind of reasons however it could be dangerous in the hands of an ego-centric. I want to have good control of my relationship, but not for manipulative purposes. I'd recommend a companion book for relationships to make sure you have just as much love as your do power -- Romantic's Guide by M Webb.

Summary: A "must" for all those who feel powerless
Review: This is a fantastic book. If you are a person who feels powerless in most cases and you see that you don't always get what you deserve because you don't have the courage or the way to ask for it, then you must read this book and give yourself the most!

Yes, it could be considered "manipulation" for some, but then again it's up to you, to use it in the proper way in order to improve your chances either at work or personal life, or WRONGLY use those secrets to manipulate other people for your own benefits.

Summary: Good tips that anyone can understand.
Review: This is an excellent book. The authors style is easy to follow and the tips in this book are great. It summarizes just about everyone subject in human psychology. It also provides many great examples of real world situations and gives you working advice on what to do. The title of this book(Get Anyone to Do Anything)is a bit exaggerated but not much.
