Summary: They are all great
Review: I have read every Cussler book about Dirk Pitt, for two reasons. One I love the plots and heroics, two I love the fact that the characters never change. I enjoy being able to read more about Pitt and Al than just one book would provide. To me the worst thing about reading a book is never seeing what happens after the book ends. In these books you can always read the next one.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a typical can't put it down from Mr. Cussler
Review: the worst thing about reading one of Clive's books is that you have to wait so long for his next one. i really liked the story line in this book and it kept me turning pages long after i should have been doing something else!!!!

Summary: Better than nothing
Review: The latest adventure of Bond, James--oh, I'm sorry! I mean Pitt, Dirk Pitt. James Bond and Dirk Pitt are completely different. One is an Englishman working for the British Secret Service. The other is an American working for the water department. They have nothing in common other than traveling the world, playing with expensive gadgets, falling in (brief) love with fiesty heroines, and saving the day in an action packed climax. I don't know how I could have confused the two. But I digress from a review of the book.
An evil Chinese businessman has a nefarious plot at hand to take over the United States. Dirk Pitt stops him. Lots of water is involved. The end.

Summary: Good, but not as good as some of his other ones.
Review: I am only 12, but I have read almost all of Clive Cussler's books, including "Flood Tide." I enjoyed this book, but it didn't seem to have the same sense of adventure as some other Clive Cussler books, like "Sahara" or "Night Probe."

Summary: Entertaining
Review: Clive Cussler once said that he was an entertainer, no more, no less, and that is exactly what he is. FLOOD TIDE deals with many plot elements that are neatly woven together and is topical, too, since it deals with Chinese laborers being exploited, as has been in the news lately. FLOOD TIDE is a true page-turner. It is the best suspense thriller I've read since Craig Furnas's THE SHAPE: A NOVEL OF INTERNATIONAL SUSPENSE. (THE SHAPE is actually better, a 10+. It is available through Amazon.com). Dirk Pitt is his heroic self with a sense of humor, and the climax is as good as the ending of any Cussler novel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Cussler's "Riptide" is pretty typical but well worth it.
Review: There is only one small flaw in"Riptide." I hope that I was not the only one to spot it. In the first chapter, Cussler has the bad guy's ship arriving near Seattle on the "northeastern" coast of the US. If you can get by this one mistake the rest of the book moves fast. Dirk Pitt is getting old but he can still handle the super bad guys with the the best of them.
