Rating: Summary: Good Review: A good story about a boy who takes a bet to eat 1 worm a day for 15 days and if he makes it he gets 50 bucks
Rating: Summary: An Entertaining and Amusing Book! Review: How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell is a very entertaining book! I read it sometime in the 80's when I was a teen and I thought it was a good book and very amusing. It is about a boy named Billy who when hanging out with his friends winds up making a bet that he will eat 15 worms. I know it sounds like a gross story and probably sounds a little lame but this book is actually pretty good and boys and even some girls ages 8 and older should find this book entertaining and amusing and I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A wormy book! Review: Ever wonder what worms taste like? If you have wondered, then you might want to read How to Eat Fried Worms. It is a really interesting book. Once you start reading it, you can't put it down. The book is about a boy named Billy, who is the main character. Billy was dared by his friend Alan to eat 15 worms in 15 days. If Billy ate all the worms, then he would get $50 from Alan. The night after ate the 10th worm, Alan worries because he doesn't have all the money to pay Billy. So he tries to trick him. To find out how, read the book! --Alejandra Leal, Quirshantee Collins, Angel Duarte and Janelly Reyes in Ms. Marik's 6th grade class
Rating: Summary: Imperial Japanese Navy??? Review: Can someone enlighten me concerning the title of Chapter 23, to wit,
"Admirals Nagumo and Kusaka on the Bridge of the Akaiga, December 6, 1941"
What can that chapter heading possibly have to do with the book's story line? I asked a person who had enjoyed HTEFW as a child, and received a blank stare.
Thanks
Rating: Summary: How to Eat Fried Worms Review: I read this book when it originally came out in the 70s and found it to be funny with believable characters. I think kids today would also find it amusing except that with all the Fear Factors and clones I think some of the shock value of worm eating has been dissipated.
Since the lead character gets to cook the worms, it really isn't all that bad. Not as bad as the TV shows where even weirder things are eaten raw.
Rating: Summary: Don't Let The Title Scare You from Reading this Amusing Book Review: I read How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell over 20 years ago and I thought it was an amusing book and I really liked it. How to Eat Fried Worms is about this boy named Billy and a bet he makes with his friends in which he has to eat 15 worms or lose the bet. I know it sounds kind of nasty but it really is a funny book and I recommend it!
Rating: Summary: If you like worm read this book!! Review: My 7 year old son enjoyed this book as one we read together. Some of the dialect I had to explain to him, but obviously with the subject matter, how can you go wrong?
