Rating: Summary: "I taste worm guts" Review: "How to eat Fried Worms" was a good book. Its about a boy named Billy and his three friends Tom(who is teamed up on Billy's side), and Joe, and a boy named Alan(are teamed up with each other.) One day Billy saw a bike he really liked, and wanted it bad. So Alan said "If you eat fifteen worms in fifteen days i'll give you fifty dollars so you can get that bike in the store you want so much. If you chicken out and lose, you'll have to give me fifty dollars". They both said "It's a deal". To find out who got the fifty buckaroos read this exciting book. (...)
Rating: Summary: Tasty! Review: "How to Eat Fried Worms," by Thomas Rockwell, tells the story of four boys. Billy and Alan make a bet that Billy cannot eat 15 worms in 15 days. Tom acts as Billy's "second" in the bet, with Joe acting as Alan's. Rockwell's set-up for the story is inspired in its simplicity, and he tells the tale with gusto. The contest turns into an all-out battle of wits and wills between the two teams--it's a sort of mini-epic whose plot contains some entertaining twists. It's also a great "gross-out" story, and Rockwell's characters really put their culinary imaginations to use as Billy attempts to achieve his goal. A hugely enjoyable comic tale that I recommend to readers of all ages.

How To Eat Fried Worms is a great book and the gross out humor is so fun to read and quite hilarious but then you have to like that kind of humor to enjoy this book or any book like it. Rating: Summary: How To Eat Fried Worms Review: I am enrolled in a children's literature class at West Virginia State College. How To Eat Fried Worms is a book listed on a banned book list I have reviewed for an assignment in this class. Although it is a banned book, I really enjoyed it. I got so involved in it early one afternoon I didn't put it down all day. I actually caught myself laughing out loud. I do agree that it should probably be on this banned list because of the beverage that is consumed by Billy's father at the end of the book. This is probably not something a child should read in school. Another thing that the book has a lot of are characters lying to get out of trouble. This is also something that children should not read about in school.
Rating: Summary: The audio tape version is hilarious Review: We recently took a family vacation and this is one of the "books on tape" that we brought along to help entertain our kids (ages 3-10). But as we listened to the tapes, my wife and I laughed almost harder than the kids did. I grew up with brothers--and the dialogue in this story is some of the most genuine I have ever heard. It really captures all the strange and funny stuff that kids think, worry, and talk about. We couldn't wait to find out if Billy really would go through with the bet... and what Allen and Joe would come up with to try and stop him! I'm buying this for my dad for Father's Day!
Rating: Summary: How to Eat Fried Worms Review: This book is about a boy, Billy. Billy is a regular boy just like everyone else. He takes on a bet from his friends, Billy would eat one worm for fifteen days. He would have received fifty dollars. Wow, fifteen worms! I would never eat a single worm even if they paid me one hundred dollars! I liked this book because of the very subconscious bet that Billy took. That showed me that Billy was a very daring person. He would try to do amazing things in life that he could accomplish. "Billy shut his eyes and popped the last piece of worm into his mouth, chewed, gagged, clapped his hand over his mouth, gulped!" You might think that worms are very disgusting. Billy shows me that he doesn't have any fears. Billy can become a very brave person by eating fifteen worms. But eating worms can have a consequence. "His stomach rumbled and gurgled. He groaned as suppose if he was dying." This book can become very frightening as if Billy would die from eating worms. My favorite part is when Billy find's out that by eating the worms wouldn't affect his health in anyway. That part was also funny because his friend's that made the bet made a fake letter from his doctor. They had everything correct about Billy's doctor but his parents had called the doctors office and had placed a message asking about the worms. That was a relief to know that he would be better and healthy. I would recommend this book to other people because it becomes very interesting to read. This book wouldn't take very long to finish.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book Review: I loved this book when I read it when I was much younger. You see Billy the underdog take on a bet that was unbelievable. Eating worms is bad, eating 15 of them is worse yet, but it was for 50 dollars. You watch as Billy struggles to complete is bet. People try to stop him, but when you want something badly enough you always win. This book is also just plain fun. This one is great to read out loud or read to yourself.
